Character Name: 2041-Penitent Tangent

Character Source: Halo 2

Current Location: Inverxe

Character Behavior:
Bubbly - This construct's behavioral programming has been damaged due to the lack of proper maintenance and handling. Normally he'd be more urgent and prompt, perhaps even stressed at the ongoing contamination of his construct, but he cant help but be a bit oddly positive, even with his pirate captors.
Administrator - One thing he hasn't escaped is his basic programming. As monitor his job is to organize and ensure smooth day to day operations of his ring. Such a thing requires a mind for administration. Though he is ringless now, he can apply this to other things such as singing or flying craft or whatever may suit his fancy!

Physical Description:

2401_Pen.jpg

Penitent Tangent is an ancient ai housed in an orb-like body slightly bigger than that of a basketball that floats about. It composes of a central glowing eye flanted by a ring of metal connected by another ring atop the core structure for armor and structural support. attatched to its backside is likely a power source, providing power to its propulsion while the orb that is the center of all of this retains the actual ai processing unit.

The passage of time has not been kind to Penitent Tangeant. Being captive by a parasitic gravemind for an excess of seven years while being warped to another dimension and utilized by pirates, his once polished metal has seen better days. Now it is weakened and rusted. His glowing eye is stuck into an intense crimson glow, once a sign of a monitor's combat processing, now is stuck due to memory and processing damage.

Character History:

When the Halo array was distributed, Monitor 2041-Penitent Tangent would be charged with looking over and managing the upkeep of a powerful ring-world super-weapon known as Installation-05, or Delta Halo. His job would be to ensure the ring remains in a fireable state should the need to activate the halo array again arise as well as be a prison for a certain parasitic race known as the flood. Samples were kept on his ring and he would soon regret it.

Thousands of years into his solitary mission, a containment concern would be noted. Within 24 hours of this containment concern, a breach would occur. What would ensue would be a battle to contain the flood for nearly 300 years, and he and his sentinels would be ultimately unsuccessful. The flood had grown to a point that they had formed their own hive mind, the Gravemind. This Gravemind would capture Penitant Tangent and hold him for seven years before humanity and alien races arrived to the ring, managing to break the perimeter Tangent's Sentinels had maintained all this time, leading to the activation of the ring.

The ring was designed to whipe a considerable amount of sentiant life from the galaxy within a certain radius of its position. Thankfully, the humans left on the ring was able to stop it from firing. Here a timeline split and collapsed. The power in this alternate timeline would open a door to slipspace and then a door within slipspace, absorbing and crushing the ring, spitting it out in this new realm's empty space between worlds.

Tangent would be picked up by a crew of pirates. Though in bad shape, his memory core and advanced processing unit served leagues better than their ship's and would be rigged to the ship to improve its performance. Here his shattered mind would mend to a point, absorbing the data the pirates held and becoming adept at operating it. However, his combat subroutines was damaged in the battle with the flood, and failed to properly defend itself from an attack above the ice world, Inverxe.

The ship would go down with all hands and Tangent would be deposited on a new world, memory core damaged once again. He was a durable monitor, though, and survived the harsh winds on this world. If there was one thing that was certain, it was that there were plenty of Reclaimers present.

Abilities/Skills:

Body of the Monitor
:
Liberated from the weakness of flesh and blood, the monitor is clad in the best technology the Forerunners could spare. They would need to serve for thousands of years afterall. Such a construction is rather small, being of around the size of a beach ball. Good for getting into those tight corridors running throughout a theoretical ringworld.

Performance(Singing) Rank 3- Being attached to a dreadnought and used as the central hub for ship and sailor affairs means that he has seen so many types of media. Sometimes it's tasteful, sometimes it's not, but he has been quite taken with music. It wasn’t uncommon to hear shanties singing in the passageways as he did his job. Now disconnected, he has retained quite a bit of that information and can provide quite the performance
