Mochikomi Shin Jidai

She was asleep under her Sakura soul tree within her pocket realm. This was indeed what she remembered, but when she raised to meet the wet, humid, foggy morning, the fox was sent into a state of extreme alertness.

Instead of a northern pine forest, she was in a tropical jungle. Looking up toward the thick canopy that barely lets any light through she managed to determine in which direction the sun rose and where it would set.

Getting her sense of direction stable, the fox set out toward the high ground, to attempt to break through to a clearing so she can get a bigger picture of what realm she had been tossed into this time.

It wasn't out of the ordinary for her to wake up in new places spontaneously, but its just this has not happened to her for over centuries. And the questions that lingered in her mind on the way, "why was someone else of my race not brought here instead?" she thought to herself.

Several minutes from her departure to find a clearing, her ears twitched, her nose flared and the starball on her collar glowed. She sensed some creature approaching at a rapid pace. Before she could fully react, it was already on top of her.

This Rihno like beast sideswiped the fox with a headbutt in the torso making her jolt with a loss of air in her lungs. She would riposte with a jump off the creatures head absorbing some of the blow and not being knocked into any tree's.

Using her agility, she bounces around the underbrush. With not knowing what this beast is she leaves nothing to chance. Running at full speed to give herself time to charge her magic to defeat this creature. Ninety seconds was all she needed, and she was easily able to keep this pace away from the beast as it plowed through the underbrush unhindered to get to its furry snack,

Her plan was set as nine fiery plasma orbs appeared around herself, she purposely leads the beast to a dead end pretending to be a cornered animal. The rhino-like monster charged her as she suddenly vanished making it slam into a thick tree that which would have been a very dead fox, hadn't she moved.

The beast found its unprotected belly suddenly subjected to several searing orbs of burning plasma that cut through it like butter. Milliseconds later the only thing left was a few burnt junks of meat, and red mist everywhere as the orbs exploded.

The Fox was long gone attempting to flee before scavenging animals appeared as she did not want to be engaged in any prolonged fight for she has not established a supply chain to sustained herself yet. She must reserve her energy.

The cause of death of this beast might be unusual for the more intelligent creatures of this world should such exist in this terrifying hell, She thought to herself. Be hunted by the intelligent was a more significant threat, but she has no choice due to the apparent savagery of the native wildlife.
