"Mori mori mori mori, Morioh Cho Raaadioooo~"

"Good morning! Greetings, all! This is Morioh Radio, and once again is me, your neighbor, Kai Harada."

"What a beautiful morning, thanks to the clear weather we're having. And I have a perfect song here to start the day. Here's our first song for the morning."

The radio sounds off from within the alarm clock sitting on a dresser next to Josuke's bed. Upbeat music blares loud enough to wake him up from his slumber. Grogginess comes over him, fitting with enough sleep he has gotten. His eyes blink a couple of times to the realization that he's awake. Josuke gets halfway up, propping his back against the wall behind him and his bed. The once pompadour haircut is a mess thanks to his sleep.

His hairstyle now was chaotic and messy, not something Josuke would prefer to go out in public with. The smell of breakfast cooking enters the room with his nose sniffing the air. Eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee are the mixture of the scent that his mom was cooking. Josuke already knows that if he doesn't get ready now that his mother is just going to give him an earful of him being lazy.

Within minutes after waking, Josuke goes to the bathroom down the hall to begin his hygiene routines. He starts brushing his teeth, flossing, sloshing mouth wash, applying deodorant, and fixing his hair into a pompadour to finish his hygiene. After wetting his hair, he applied hair gel to start the process, brushing it into his desired style. After fixing himself up, he walks back to his room to dress in his school uniform. It only to him three minutes to put on the school uniform.

He looks back to see him all dressed up and his pompadour looking fabulous as always. With everything looking satisfying to his style needs, Josuke walks out of his room, closing the door, then following the kitchen's cooking aroma.

"Morning, Josuke. Breakfast is almost done cooking. How would you like to have coffee?" Josuke's mother, Tomoko Higashikata, says out loud over the popping coming from the eggs and bacon cooking together in the same pan.

"Yeah, sure. Could you put in some milk and sugar for me?" Josuke replies, walking over to the kitchen table with his hands in his jacket pockets.

The coffee maker and toaster are sitting on the table, both cooking currently. Josuke's mom takes the eggs and bacon out of the pan, putting them on a plate. She places the food on the kitchen table in front of her son before he sits down.

"Milk and sugar, right?" She questions before pouring the coffee for him.

"Yes," Josuke replies, pulling one of the chairs out underneath the table.

Before he could sit down, the doorbell rings to catch their attention.

"Could you get the door, Josuke?" His mother calls out, being busy to cook the rest of the breakfast.

"Sure."

Josuke approaches the front door and opens it to see who it is. A friendly, familiar face stands on the other side of the doorway. His best buddy, Okuyasu Nijimura, is happy to see Josuke and ready for the day.

"Oi Josuke!"

Okuyasu leaned against the doorframe, giving his best friend a cocky grin. "Koichi called me and told me you were coming home yesterday!" He stepped inside the threshold and waved to Josuke's mom. "How was it helping out the Speedwagon foundation? Did Jotaro say hi?"

One of his hands came up to puff his own shorter pompadour. "I joined a tournament and died! You know, like that old movie." He put a finger on his chin and watched as Josuke grabbed his breakfast to go. "Oh! And I fought another Stand user with this big robot lady! She was pretty cool. But she ran off to do something."

As they exited and stood outside on the brick walkway, Okuyasu wrinkled his nose. " They canceled school, for like, a week. Wanna go visit Mikitaka? Or get lunch at Tonio's after the arcade?" Okuyasu's singularly focused mind neglected to mention the reason for the school closure, considering he'd tried to cope with the awful oppressing wave of ennui and pain that swept across the world with a few sneakily acquired Sapporos.

As they headed down the street, they passed a strangely shaped rock on the side of the road. Almost instinctually, both Josuke and Okuyasu raised their left hands and gave a mocking little salute towards the rock.

"Yo, Angelo!"
"Oi, Angelo!"

Josuke was surprised that school had canceled for the week. That means his vacation is going to last even longer. They walk down the familiar sidewalk that makes up their regular route, passing by the houses that made up the suburb of Morioh.

"I saw that new game on TV you were in when I stayed in Arcadia. For sure, I was rooting for you, Okuyasu." Josuke positively mentions as they walk down the street.

"It sucks I didn't get to finish at the top of the leaderboard. My stand's power got reduced, thanks to that uncomfortable collar we had to wear." Okuyasu states about his moments in Dante's Abyss.

"Hey! How about next time we both enter? We could do damage to other players and have a chance to get our MVP moment for everyone to see on live TV!" The stylish pompadour teen confidently proposes his idea to the delinquent.

"Hell yeah! Crazy Diamond and The Hand teaming up together will be an amazing duo to bring our game on!" Okuyasu adds, having a cartoonishly happy expression upon his face of Josuke wanting to join him in the next Dante's Abyss.

"When one of those tents get set up in Morioh or anywhere else, I will sign up with you, I promise." Josuke bets on his soul to having Okuyasu's back in the game.

"Those bastards aren't going to know what hit them! Hehehe!" Okuyasu daydreaming about their badassery taking on others.

They come across one of the recreational parks that Morioh holds. Not wanting his breakfast takeout to get cold, Josuke tells Okuyasu to stop here and rest for a minute. Both rest at a tree off the beaten path and hung out. Josuke opens the plastic container that holds his breakfast. Two eggs, strips of bacon, and two pieces of toast are what made his breakfast.

He holds a fork and begins to munch down on the breakfast after starving this morning. A thermos filled with coffee mixed with milk and sugar sits next to him. Josuke remains seated on the healthy green grass while Okuyasu leans against the oak tree. They conversed while Josuke finished up his breakfast that only took three minutes.

"So, were you able to talk to Jotaro again after working with the Speedwagon Foundation back in Arcadia?" Okuyasu questions while Josuke takes his last bite.

"I saw him once, and we only got to exchange our greets since he didn't have much time to talk," Josuke recalls, placing his fork back in the used container and snapping it shut.

He takes a sip of his coffee, caffeine entering his body, making him more ready for the day to come.

Josuke remembers what his buddy questioned earlier about what they were going to do for the day.

"How about we go visit Mikitaka? I haven't seen him in a while. I'm curious of what he's up to lately." Josuke remarks about visiting their alien friend, that is now a resident in Morioh.

"Sure! When we catch up, let's all go hit up the arcade!" Okuyasu excitedly says with a childish manner, just the thought coming over his mind imagining spending time again with his original friends he has been dying to do for some quiet time now.

The duo sets out exiting the park and is now back on the regular streets of Morioh. Pedestrians pass the two while walking, and traffic on the road was not too heavy. They remember where Mikitaka is supposedly living since he hypnotized a woman, making her think she is his mother.

It was great to finally be back in Morioh, away from the hustling and bustling of the great city, Arcadia.

They'd taken a long leisurely walk through the streets of Morioh, passing by lots of whitish tents with the SPW logo on them. "Oh yeah, Josuke! Did they tell you why they came here? I mean, I guess it was some kinda disaster or something, but none of the people want to talk about it. You'd think a planet blew up or something!"

Behind them, someone poked a head from a tent and then flipped Okuyasu off. Neither teen noticed as they went further down the block heading for their strange alien friend's neighborhood. The two approached a public playground dotted with slides, swings, and a climbing structure shaped like a rocketship. Okuyasu slowed down to stare at it, clearly awed by the height. "Wow...has that thing ever looked so big? I coulda sworn it was only like..ten feet tall a week ago..." He scratched his head, looking at the rocket as Josuke walked up to the structure. He raised a fist and clanged on the metal, making a ringing sound.

A hatch opened up near the top, and the placid face of Mikitaka poked out and looked down at the two. "Oh. Okuyasu and Josuke. Hello. I'm glad you're here, I was hoping to see you before I left."

Josuke looked up his pompadour at the white haired teenager as he slid out of the rocket and floated down to the ground. The three exchanged the complex handshake they'd taught the alien, Okuyasu passing him a Calpis drink he'd bought with breakfast. "Mikitaka... you're leaving? Where?"

Okuyasu and Josuke exchanged glances, trying not to chuckle at the alien's possible antics. "Going home, huh? Morioh got too boring for you?" Josuke joked.

"No." Mikitaka replied. "This corner of the universe is going to be destroyed by Darkseid."

Okuyasu felt a twist in his stomach at the mention of the name. "Wait, like, an eclipse?" He guessed. He was sure he was wrong though.

The alien shook his head. "No. An intergalactic conqueror, and a Fallen arbiter." The blank looks on the two youth's faces made him clarify. "Every planet in the crossroads was made by someone. They guard them. And Darkseid was one. Now he seeks only to destroy, and I have finally been able to repair my vessel." His face softened as if he were wistful. "I am saddened I cannot take my friends as well...but there is only room for one."

Josuke tried not to burst out laughing. "I mean... it's a toy, man! Good luck!" Then his gaze straightened and he got a much more serious look on his face. "Wait, wait.... intergalactic conqueror?"

Okuyasu looked sheepish. "So that's what that voice telling me I was needed was about...." He counted on his fingers, The Hand materializing to draw figures in the sand. "There was that weird cartoonist guy, and then the voice message in my head that I drank to forget... then all the refugees started coming in and the Speedwagon foundation showed up."

Something dawned on him.

"Hey, Josuke...." Okuyasu said, failing to notice his friend reading a newspaper that Mikitaka had handed him. "If there were tons of people that lived on another planet.... and now there's tons of extra people here....I think a planet DID blow up!"

Josuke held the front page of the Morioh Times open in front of Okuyasu's oblivious face, the headline reading GOVERMORNE DESTROYED.

"Oi....hey. You know I don't read the news!" Okuyasu exclaimed, getting to his feet and raising a hand to smack their alien confederate on the back. "Well, good luck getting home! I guess we'll see you in a couple days!"

Mikitaka waved goodbye as the two left. "We will never meet again. Goodbye, Okuyasu and Josuke. I enjoyed learning about human friendship."

"Soooo......let's get lunch at Trussardi, and then maybe see if the Speedwagon Foundation knows anything else. We gotta help if this guy can blow up planets or whatever!" Josuke said with the confidence of the natural leader he was.

FWOOOOOOOOOOOM

The silvery rocket from the playground rose in a column of smoke and heat, arcing above the horizon and clearing the lower stratosphere before Okuyasu could even say "Za Hando."

The two looked at each other, and then as one, pretended they hadn't seen it.

The morning turns over to noon as Morioh is bustling with life present in the streets. Both locals and refugees flood the sidewalks, and traffic lining up on the road with traffic lights halts them for a minute, allowing traffic to resume. Shops and restaurants were busy as ever at prime lunchtime, generating an excellent economy for Morioh. Still, tents that house the refugees having no homes in Morioh scattered around the local parks. Josuke and Okuyasu squat in a delinquent style outside of a store that they left about ten minutes ago, drinking cans of sodas they purchased with their own money.

Okuyasu plays a trending game on his smartphone, focusing on achieving a high score that he can have the right to brag over. Josuke, on the other hand, sips his soda as he watches Okuyasu playing the app game. His buddy focuses hard on the phone screen, making his little character jump and pass-through obstacles that can stop his record. The game was going at a fast, challenging pace, making the Okuyasu sweat with intent. The other delinquent lights up a cigarette in his mouth as he watches his pal attempt to break a world record in the game.

At a couple of hundreds of points away to pass the world record, Okuyasu made a mistake in the game, causing a game over.

"Dammit! Oi, Josuke! I was this close to passing the world's highest score on this popular game. Isn't that just some whack?" Okuyasu is disappointed in failing for a world record.

"Hey, I saw. Good attempt, though." Josuke adds on about Okuyasu's score a part of the game, releasing a puff of smoke.

Shortly after, Okuyasu's stomach grumbles for food in protest to make him stop playing the game.

"Man, I'm starving now for lunch. Oi, Josuke! How about we head to Trattoria as we planned before. There's a good chance his food can improve my reflex to achieve a world record!" Okuyasu mentions, daydreaming about the delicious authenticated Italian food that Tonio can cook and improve with his stand.

"Sure, bro, I'm up for Tonio's. I wonder what lunch specials he has planned for today." Josuke mentions thinking about the beautiful cheap deals they could get.

They stood up out of their squats and proceeded to walk down the street in the direction where Tonio's located. The travel to the restaurant's locations took fifteen minutes to cross an individual district of Morioh. Tonio's became packed because of the prime lunch crowd, guests waiting outside until they get a seat available. This restaurant has gotten popular over the year by the famous food critics reviews that praised Tonio's cooking. Outsiders or locals gather at this authentic Italian cuisine eatery at popular lunch hours and dinner hours. Refugees now have made this restaurant even more popular, enjoying a one-of-a-kind exotic taste that they never had before on Govermorne and Cevanti.

Both the stand users sigh in disappointment that the wait time can be long till they get seats.

"Oh great, now we'll probably get lunch till dinner at this rate!" Okuyasu dreads the lunch crowd that gathered at the same time.

"It won't hurt to ask the host or hostess how long the wait time could be." Josuke positively mentions at his buddy before they decided to turn around.

Entering the lively establishment with a noisy environment, they ask the cute hostess about the wait time for two guests. She mentions that the wait time would be an hour up to two hours. Josuke tells her to put their names on the waiting list. After the pompadour stand user mentions both their names, the hostess realized the familiar names that Tonio had a specialized request for the two stand users.

"Head chef Tonio saved you a table in our VIP section Mr. Higashikata and Mr. Nijimura. Follow me, please." the cute waitress says, grabbing two menus and leading the boys to their designated table.

Josuke and Okuyasu had that distinct, exciting facial expressions when something goes right their way. They settled down at their VIP table and thanked the hostess for seating them. As she walks away, Okuyasu eyes her up thanks to her beauty, still wishing he could be like Koichi getting a beautiful girlfriend.

"Oi, Josuke! That hostess is hot! Maybe I should ask her out later? What you think?" Okuyasu mentions while his face blushes, thinking about the idea of doing after having lunch.

"You can nail it, bro. For sure." Josuke agrees as he focuses on reading the special lunch deals printed on the menu.

Mikitaka said beforehand, troubles Josuke that there's a force still wreaking havoc in this universe. This reason alone makes his goals set to destroy the source of this absolute darkness quickly before it devastates Morioh but not just the city, the entire planet as well.

"So good!"

Josuke's pal is splendid by the exquisite Italian lunch that the head chef and restaurant owner, Tonio, made for them. Pearl Jam is his stand that makes this food taste so wonderful to either regular customers or new customers. It makes everyone feel refreshed and ready to take on the world. That's what Okuyasu craves whenever Trussardi is on his mind. All the tasteful Italian food makes Okuyasu's week great, not feeling exhausted or out of shape, making Mondays bearable. His plate remains empty in front of Josuke's delinquent buddy, all satisfied and full.
Meanwhile, the other pompadour stand user barely touches his salad or glass of water, making Okuyasu concerned about Josuke. "Oi Josuke! What's the matter? You barely touched Tonio's delicious salad he made for you."

"Are you not bothered at all what Mikitaka said to us before leaving and having no hope for our home." Josuke mentions, taking a sigh and still remembering all the information that their alien friend gives them about the current state of The Crossroads. "It's just troubling on the thought that a greater dark force can destroy a world in permanent destruction. This Darkseid guy is far worse than Dio coming back to life to take over the world again."

"It will be ok! If we can save Morioh once, I'm sure we can save it again. Besides, we got Jotaro on our side to stop this force before it even dares to destroy Morioh or Erde." Okuyasu encourages positivity before putting the glass up to his lips, drinking the refreshing water. The restaurant in the background stays busy with waiters or waitresses going back and forth between the kitchen and dining area. Josuke looks down at his salad, picking up a fork and pricking it against juicy lettuce covered in runny salad dressing. He bites on the piece of lettuce and slowly munches on it with his mouth closed. Josuke swallows the bite and reaches for his glass of water to take a sip. Before taking a drink, something crosses over his mind.

Nausea ensues on him, making Josuke wonder if it's Tonio's salad. Yet, the sickness didn't take full effect on his body but mixed with delightfulness. While these mixed feelings wash over him, Okuyasu is curious if Josuke is feeling fine. Still, he figures that it's Tonio's food at work probably making his skin feel better or restoring energy. Something pecks at the back of Josuke's brain, a thought not belonging to him. It calls to him by his name, a name that belongs to his long bloodline.

Although his mixed blood makes him a bastard son, it does not change the fact that he is a real Joestar. Helping to make that fact stay true is him pronouncing that he'll take place being Morioh's protector after his grandfather's murder. Josuke heard about these arbiters a long time ago when he was a child growing up in Morioh. He remembered elders telling tales about the long past of arbiters resembling their placed worlds and one arbiter that deems to unmake everything that resembles life. At that time, people that look up to the arbiters daily believed that the wicked one would never come to grasp, reaching for The Crossroads.

In this deep thinking, Josuke knows that he is not alone in this task given in his great lineage that has helped Erde Nona time after time. It first started with Jonathan entrapping himself with his adopted brother, Dio, so that he won't conquer the world. His father, Joseph, defeating the world-ending pillar men, then decades later sets out on a journey alongside Jotaro to destroy the resurrected vampire, Dio wanting world domination. Now, the time is ripe yet again to be in Josuke's hands to show The Crossroads what the Joestar generation means. He saved Morioh thanks to his friends and nephew but now, thinking about saving The Crossroads is a task he won't be doing alone.

This thought comforts him, knowing that there are others out there facing this evil that's now giving his attention. Josuke must stop Darkseid at all costs, and he is ready to put his life on the line. All these planets must see another day, year, or centuries. Lives that can't protect themselves from this wickedness are depending on people like him. A beacon in the darkness that shows all is not lost and there are still good in this lifetime. He must stand proud.

Morioh has plentiful stand users to help defend against this new darkness that it now faces alongside the whole planet. The Speedwagon Foundation must work too on researching and inventing solutions to stop this fallen arbiter's actions. Josuke's mind races, thinking that not only Erde will need his help, but most likely other planets may need him as well. He's no superman that can fly back to one world or another quickly, helping everyone in need, but he will lend his hand to protect or help others depending on how much his body can take and Crazy Diamond's abilities. Josuke won't fail the Joestar bloodline. He mustn't.

"Oi, Josuke!"

Suddenly, the pompadour teen snaps out of it and looks back at his hooligan friend concerned about him.

"You, ok?"

Josuke swallows that tasty piece of his salad down his throat, giving off a delicious taste. "Y-yeah, I'm fine."

"Your look had me worried something was wrong. It was like you stared out into a blank space, not paying attention at all to what I was saying." Okuyasu states the troubling expression on Josuke's face from before, but Josuke appears all fine now, fully noticing his hooligan friend.

"Huh, I wasn't aware that's how I looked," Josuke says with a bit of a frown before drinking his water and still remembering what was going on inside his head. "Okuyasu, earlier you said there was a voice you heard not physically but mentally inside your head, right?"

"Well yeah, it was a weird experience that happened." Okuyasu scratches his head, not having much of a second thought about the whole spiritual voice that communicated to him.

Josuke rests his hands on his lap, looking seriously back at Okuyasu sitting across from him. "I just encountered that same voice that you heard days ago."

Okuyasu was shocked to hear that Josuke heard the arbiter's voice calling out to him while eating lunch.

"We need to get in touch with the Speedwagon Foundation fast! It's our only option getting additional help and more info on this unmade arbiter and his whole operation." Josuke stands up out of his chair, scooting it a little behind him, having determination on his face.

"Oi waiter, check, please!"
