Character Name: Arc Lalatoya
Character Source: Skeleton Knight In Another World

Total Essence Spent: 2000

Character Behavior
Arc is a Friendly Anti-Hero. As a skeleton with his emotions being suppressed, he does whatever he judges to be right and advantageous to him if it doesn't hurt anyone that doesn't deserve it. A good-natured and approachable knight, he does whatever is necessary to help those in need while exploring the world in a light-hearted manner.

Physical Description:
RpMEwPg.png

Standing at a towering 6"5" clad in the highest quality gold-trimmed white full plate armor, Arc is the very spitting image of ideal fantasy knights. A heavy shield and a massive two handed sword that match the armor also adorn his back, but draped over them is a mantle made of fabric that looks like it was made from the night sky, the Twilight Cloak. Perfectly hidden below his armor is the body of a humanoid skeleton with eye sockets filled with gentle blue flames.

Character History:

Content Warning. This section contains mature themes, please take that into consideration before reading.

One day, Arc fell asleep at the computer and woke up in a fantasy world in the body of his favorite MMORPG character and taking his name as his own. But he quickly realized that his character was a skeleton, a minor cosmetic effect he had purchased and forgotten about since his heavy armor never really lets you see the avatar behind it. He started to explore his abilities, finding that he could use his MMORPG skills by just willing it, but also that he had access to not only the skills of the classes he had equipped, but all of the skills of the classes required to acquire his primary class Holy Knight and sub-class Pope.

From there, Arc started his journey to see this world and start to make a living. He found himself far more powerful than the average person by an extremely wide margin. His first human encounter was to save a noble girl from bandits (hired to kill her but he never knew that), which led him to escort her to the nearest town and becoming an adventurer. This lead him into accidently coming across Elf girls being pursued by slavers, who he kills and gives to an Elf warrior that had come to save them as well, the Dark Elf Ariane. Wanting to see more elves, Arc pushed to find more Elf slaves to free and in the process gaining a pet spirit animal, a wind fox he names Ponta, and becoming allies with Ariane. He joined her campaign to save her kin from the evils of human society.

The rest here can be glossed over more quickly. Early on Arc and Ariane started to help a Beastfolk Ninja Chiyome also save her fellow beastfolk from human slavers. Becoming more and more friendly with the Elves, this lead him to a key point to resolving the 'backstory' Arc had given Ariane early on, that he was cursed into this skeleton body. She led him to the Lord Crown, home to a Dragon Lord, known as one of the strongest creatures in existence. After fighting the Dragon Lord Villers Fim in a test of strength, Arc gained permission to enter the hot spring known to break any curse, and found that under his skeleton curse was a unknown variety of brown-skinned Elf. This also gave him a mental shock, as the sudden release of blocked emotions overwhelmed him. He recovered, but also found that the water's effect was only temporary, though he can carry a waterskin of it to re-assume flesh and drink a lot of it to maintain his elf skin longer.

Then he went back to what he was already doing, pursuing the eradication of slavery in the world. Along the way he was accepted as one of the elves officially gaining a last name and helped the beastfolk with more and more with their problems. Undead started to pop up and the tracking of slavery back to where it was really prevalent led Arc and co. to the holy church. As it turned out, the main driving force of slavery in this world was to import more, stronger bodies to the church in order to convert them to undead. The closer to the source, the more and stronger undead they came across until eventually Arc came face to face with the source of the undead, another Player like Arc. But, though Arc didn't understand it entirely, that Player came from a VRMMO strategy game and he had all the powers that came with a base building game like that, who still believed he was playing the VRMMO with just an odd glitch of not being able to log out. Winning the fight, Arc went back home to the Elves, only to find himself waking up in a yet stranger universe, Multerra.

Abilities/Skills:

MMORPG Character - 100 essence
Adaptability: Falling (100)
As an avatar built from an MMORPG game that didn't have fall damage, Arc just doesn't suffer from fall damage. Much of his character level has been mysteriously locked away since coming here, but is still considered a Holy Knight, his subclass Pope, and all the character classes below them on the class tree. As a majority of these classes are magic casting, Ranged abilities come easier to Arc. (Specialized Affinity)

Skeleton Character Skin - 250 essence
Adaptability: Nonbiological Anatomy (300)
Side Effect (-50)
Arc's character skin on his character causes a variety of very questionable physics in regards to how his body works. He simply doesn't have organs or flesh of any kind, instead being purely a skeleton. His pet fox has even slept inside of his ribcage. Despite this, Arc is not considered an Undead creature by any means, and still has most of the needs and requirements that any living creature needs such as air, sleep, food, and water. But not having organs, like a physical brain, has some unusual side effects on Arc. His emotions are being suppressed. Though he has adapted and not emotionless, Arc has difficultly experiencing extreme emotions and some more basic emotions like guilt and fear without putting some thought on whether or not he should feel guilt or fear.

The other main thing he no longer experiences is Hunger or Thirst. Though he needs food, water, and air, he doesn't feel the bodily need for those things and only starts to experience them indirectly when his body starts to weaken from a prolonged period of no food/water/air. He probably wouldn't notice he is choking at all, until he is already knocked out from lack of oxygen.

Dimensional Step - 950 essence
Teleport 2 (600)
Affects Multiple 1 (100)
Endurance 5 (500)
Limited (-250) [This Only, reducing the Stamina cost of Dimensional Step but nothing else]

Descriptor: (More isn't always better, but I thought I would give a bit more detail here to hammer this down more exactly. This is a bit sideway to the current version, see the Help Thread I made)

A basic low cost mage-class teleport spell, Ark can cast this spell pretty much as much as he wants to teleport short distances, up to 20 feet. He can teleport anywhere so long as he can get a visual lock, and there is a physical path to the location. For instance, a Keyhole is enough of a gap to teleport through a door, but he can't bypass a closed glass window. A gap under a door would work if he could get a low enough angle to see the other side, or look through a nearby window.

With how cheap it is in Mana, Arc will use this in place of walking while traveling large distances and sometimes bypass obstacles by repeatedly casting it into the air. For reference, at spamming speed with the below limits, the math comes out to about 4.5 mph at Teleport 2. Any willing target can be brought along with Arc so long as they are touching him, but items/inanimate objects not being carried do not come for the ride.

While extremely useful in combat allowing him to ambush and rapidly strike an entire group of unaware bandits, he usually needs a couple seconds to focus on the spot to teleport to and his movement is halted for a moment on reappearing. If he is focused on teleporting again he can pull it off in half the time, but that 1 second delay before he starts moving at all gives time to his opponent.

Dimensional Step also cannot normally be used to bypass the Knockback or other related forced movement effects, if those effects come from a living or animated creature.

These limitations leave openings for skilled opponents to exploit, so Arc avoids spamming Dimensional
Step in difficult combat though he still strategically makes plays with it since teleporting to a blind spot can create an opening too.

Holy Thunder Sword of Caladbolg - 250 Essence
Damage 5 (500)
Removable (-250)
Arc's mythical-class end-game Holy Knight sword is over a meter long with a wide double-edge blade. Despite clearly being made as a two-handed sword, Arc can wield it one-handed with a shield without issue. Much of its power has been mysteriously locked since coming to Multerra. As hand-held equipment, it can be removed from Arc.

Belenus Holy Armor - 200 Essence
Protection 1(100)
Ongoing (100)
Arc's mythical-class end-game crafted Holy Knight exclusive Armor set. Like his other equipment, its power is severely limited for unknown reasons.

Wyvern Slash - 250 Essence
Damage 5 (500)
Ranged (Specialization)
Limited (-250)
A mid-tier Knight skill, Wyvern Slash lets Arc swing any sword and let out a blast of sword light to slash things from a distance. However, Arc specifically needs to have a Sword equipped. (Abilities without Removable do not count as Equipment, but limited time consumables or relics/trinkets/etc can count, if they are Swords.)

Fire - 200 Essence
Ability Effects:
Damage 2 (200)
Ranged (Specialization)

Descriptor: A basic, simply named mage class attack spell. Fire light's one of Arc's hands on fire then shoots a fist-sized fireball in the direction he points his hand at which explodes on impact.

Wind Cutter
Ability Effects:
Damage 1 (100)
Ranged (Specialization)

Descriptor: A basic mage class attack spell that uses wind to attack. Wind Cutter forms a somewhat wide, sharp, flat, green blade of wind energy in front of one of his hands then launches it. Works well for mowing grass evenly.

Affinities: Specialized (Ranged)
