Profession: Wanderer
Species: Golem/War Construct
Affinities: Exceptional

Character Behavior
Ashe is a Curious Brawler. Not quite a completely blank slate, but with precious little in the way of actual memory and only a scattering of 'relevant' information to her intended function. she has an abundant curiosity and drive to fill in and repair those missing gaps in memory and knowledge. Highly observant and aware of changes in the environment and people nearby, and prone to openly and quizzically staring at things of interest or perceived importance, Ashe does her best to not miss anything going on, so as to make the best possible decisions -- and learn (or re-learn) as much as possible, as quickly as possible.

Ashe is also a very simplistic brawler. There is nothing fancy or overly-dramatic about it, she simply does what is most effective and useful at any given moment, as her understanding and capabilities allow. She has no real concept of 'fair play' or what 'fighting dirty' even means, so won't hesitate to use anything and everything to get, and keep, the upper hand.

Ashe's simplistic nature is often clouded and muddled by her nature as a machine. Driven primarily by logic and swift conclusions, she is nonetheless programmed and designed to imitate and mimic many human functions and be able to reach most extremes of human mental and emotional states. This is, of course, hampered by a detached outlook and knowledge that she was intended to be expendable, and so rarely lets such emotional facets really progress too far or go anywhere.

While she is endlessly curious and driven to gather new information to fill in her databanks, and thus is willing to do almost anything for the prospect of such things, she is somewhat...less than enthusiastic about most activities. The overarching tendency to by all appearances simply 'go with the flow' in the most nonchalant and disinterested manner is readily apparent. This does not stem from an actual disinterest or lack of motivation, but merely an ingrained knowledge that it might all be for naught, and the simple outlook of 'this is just most efficient'.

It is a complicated, often conflicting set of things which have been programmed into and made possible for her. The nebulous nature of a new prototype design is often rife with such errors.

Her approach to a fight is similarly confusing and contradictory. While very much a brawler, with nothing in the way of fancy showmanship or dramatic flair, she does utilize carefully planned strategy to try and gain the upper hand. She puts up a front of using simple brute force and desperate maneuvers, grasping at anything and everything she can to deal damage and overwhelm her targets. But she is carefully trying everything to see what works and doesn't, and then capitalizing on the most effective and productive choices. It's a simple, process of elimination strategy which doesn't rely on anything dramatic or overly complex, and can be done with simple brute strength, creativity and quick thinking. The unpredictability of never knowing what comes next when someone is viewing 'everything' as a potential tool is also a definite plus.

Another distinction which must be made is regarding morality and rules. Ashe most definitely has a knowledge of morality, of things like right and wrong or good and evil. But she doesn't necessarily subscribe to that sort of outlook. She doesn't have anything like a 'real' conscience to bother her. To that end, she doesn't concern herself in combat or hostile engagements with things like what would be 'right or wrong' nor things like 'fair or unfair'. There is only 'effective and not effective'. Whether that be something as simple as taking cheap shots or hitting 'below the belt', or something like threatening or attacking innocent bystanders to cause a scene or force an opponent's hand. Nothing is truly 'off limits' for her, if it would swing things in her favor, up to and including ridiculous things like playing dead, feigning amnesia or stupidity, fleeing or retreating, or even outright surrender. Logic, tactics and self-preservation struggle mightily in a three-pronged outlook, and she will not force an engagement to prolong itself if it looks like she might lose.

Physical Description
nFwz4gE.png
Ashe-0 stands in at an exact specification of 6 meters in height -- or 19.685 feet -- thanks to specific measurements and templates used during construction. This same construction and size lends her a considerable weight, in the neighborhood of approximately 6,350 kilograms -- or about 14,000 pounds. A synthetic, completely unblemished appearance owing largely to the fact she was never actually sent into combat, in a dubious twist given her origin, and her dormant regenerative and self-repair capabilities being a marvel of engineering. Artificial skin bears a fair-hued, lightly tanned coloration and is identical in all respects to that of human skin to all but the most thorough of scrutiny. She sports a rather slight and unassuming overall build, with a constructed physique similar to someone in above average shape, with only faint hints of anything approaching muscle definition; just enough to give some mild contour and shape and not be unnatural stick-like limbs, as was the case in earlier production models. An unruly mess of dark, black hair very loosely tied into a large high ponytail falls down to somewhere between mid-back and waist-length, and stubbornly refuses almost any attempt to be tamed into something neater. Long, pointed ears similar to most depictions of elves emerge from her head, and in place of eyes she has a single large mono-eye; curiously it bears no distinction between iris, sclera or pupil, with the entire thing being composed of concentric rings of alternating pale and dark blue. Something a kin to extremely heavy eyeshadow, or the dark bags under one's eyes from chronic lack of sleep or stress can be seen around her eye. Completing the picture of separation between a simple over-sized human and the particular production model Ashe is part of, a second pair of arms can be seen emerging from just behind and slightly below the first; identical in appearance, and every bit as dexterous, they often hang idly at her sides, or else find purchase planted on her hips.

Clothing is simple, and hard to tell if it's part of her construction or actual clothing added on. A dark blue vest and tunic with shoulder-coverings and no sleeves, lined with brass-colored linings and borders. A large circle of material can be seen cut through the vest, in her upper left torso and filled in with a light purple hue. The bottom half of the tunic reaches down to her knees in length, and is colored in similar fashion to the upper portion. Unassuming gloves of a material similar in color and texture to leather cover her hands, and join into a set of black forearm coverings which reach up to a point just below the elbow. Boots of a similar nature, brown and leathery, reach up to upper shin and join a set of dark leggings or pants to complete the 'wardrobe'.

Character History
Long, long ago....Ashe was one of countless other similar machines invented and created for battle. Originally as security and defense implements, but tides turned and they were inevitably 'improved' and set to use for actual combat and war. Some great calamity swept the world, rendering it all barely more than a wasteland, and all of the world's inhabitants -- living and machine alike -- were swept under a carpet of all-suffocating ash and left to be only a distant memory.

....or at least, such should have been the case. But clearly it was not, for at least one resident of that catastrophe survived, miraculously shunted through space and time, deposited in a wholly alien location to await its reawakening.

FAISE Unit -- Nicknamed "Faise"

Character Behavior/Personality

Faise is an interesting creature. While internally she is every bit as logic-driven and mechanical as Ashe, she was given a far more robust AI with capacity for greater emotional development and simulation. She is far more effective at communicating and conversing with other living entities and less mechanically-minded sorts, and it is in fact one of the primary purposes for which the support unit line was intended for. She acts as a go-between to help facilitate communication and make it a much less laborious task all around, including acting as a startlingly versatile translator.

The support unit is also intended to function as a form of conscience and monitoring element to ensure proper structure and adherence to rules, regulations and mission objectives are kept; normally not a concern, except on particularly long or difficult deployments. Adding the constant and careful monitoring of the combat model's personality development and data storage is an almost mechanically-accepted task, as is the rote acceptance of the unpleasant tasks they must perform if the need arises. It is lucky, then, that Faise shares Ashe's complete lack of issue with 'moral' quandaries, and is perfectly willing and able to do anything necessary for any matter at hand.

She is less outwardly curious or driven to collect new information or input than Ashe, and prefers to instead simply provide the necessary motivation and constant urging to push her larger companion to keep moving and maintain what tenuous grasp on enthusiasm for objectives she actually has. She brings a certain energy and far more 'human' element to things, encouraging social growth and development to better perform necessary actions. A second voice in things, and a constant partner to stave off feelings of loneliness or isolation, and just someone to talk to. The presence of the support unit is such a given, it wasn't an uncommon sight to see a combat model talking to thin air, or seemingly to no one at all, with the presence and expected response of the support unit just being a hard-coded fact.

....however, this is all hampered by an unflinching and cold core of pure logic, as previously mentioned. There are certain key facts she keeps at the forefront of everything, including her role to serve as a system monitor and to provide 'as needed' administrator level tasks to perform system cleanup, memory alterations and even complete date wipes and resets to the combat model she is paired with. Ensuring that Ashe doesn't get bogged down with 'extraneous data' is an important role, as is monitoring for any suspicious or external tampering (both on the hardware and software side of things). She is utterly unquestioning and accepting of these duties, even in spite of having the level of free will she does. It is, after all, what she was designed and programmed to do; both she and her partner were meant to be expendable, and optimal performance only serves to push back the date which they can no longer be recovered. She is fully capable of realizing this is a painful, emotionally-damaging task, and as such does keep careful backup copies of all such modified and 'purged' information just in case...but it would take a good reason to make her cease such actions to begin with.

Physical Description
5p7Gqe1.jpg

Faise stands in at an exacting specification of exactly 12 inches in height, constructed perfectly in proportion to a normal humanoid figure in spite of such a tiny size. Much like how something resembling elven and cyclopean features was taken into consideration for the combat model Ashe-0 is part of, the image of a fairy or pixie was used as a basis for the diminutive support unit's design. A large pair of wings resembling those of an insect, specifically a butterfly, adorn her back; these are capable of movement and flapping to simulate flight but serve no part in that function. A similar, much smaller pair of such 'wings' frame her face, acting as antennae for myriad support functions.

The attention to detail and craftsmanship were not impeded by the extreme downsizing of the support unit, and it is every bit as life-like and perfect in its synthetic appearance as can be. Synthetic skin is unblemished and perfect in appearance, with a somewhat pale hue in stark contrast to the combat model. An overall physique and build modeled to appear as human as possible, size notwithstanding. Hair is a carefully maintained array of dark violet, with painstaking detail given to ensure it could be properly taken care of to avoid getting clogged or caught in the many delicate flight systems. A pair of slim, pointed ears rests buried under this mess of hair, near to where the wing-like antennae rest.

A rather...revealing choice of design for the standard 'uniform' was made, for reasons known only to the designers behind it. How it was approved is a similar mystery. It does have the dubious benefit of being permanently bonded to the unit's frame, and regenerating damage along with it in accordance to normal repair routines. The visor covering her eyes is similarly bonded to the unit, and cannot be removed — though it can be raised to rest on the forehead, if for any reason direct eyesight or eye contact is required.

Other Notes
Faise often fidgets and keeps active, flying and hovering around in lazy circles or taking a seat somewhere and idly swinging her legs or counting random things.
Despite her small size, Faise's strength is much grater than it looks like. Though her small state makes it difficult to use for lifting or moving objects, she is every bit as strong as a 'normal' sized person, so she can still throw a wicked punch against an unwary foe.

Descriptor: A tiny support drone, the Fully Autonomous Integrated Support Entity, ‘affectionately’ nicknamed Faise by Ashe for simple ease of communication. She is exceptionally tiny even by human standards, standing at precisely one foot in height and weighing in at only a meager 8 pounds, making it altogether too easy for even those of average strength to batter and toss her around with ease. Thankfully, her small size and relative quickness makes catching her to do so no small feat.

She possesses an in-built communications suite capable of accessing most, if not all, common types of communications media, and can even emulate and tap into magical or mystical wavelengths for less physical connections.

She is capable of flight via manipulating magnetic fields and local air pressure in her immediate vicinity with miniscule generators and modules implanted within her frame. Her wings are mostly for show and do not provide any actual lift or propulsion on their own, merely providing stabilization and control, as well as providing a rudimentary gliding effect to assist with handling large falls in event of emergency loss of power or some other unforeseen event.

In spite of the miniscule size, the FAISE unit is constructed of the same quality and grade of materials that the more full-scale combat units are, lending her considerable durability and a surprising robustness. The same type of nanotech fluid flows through her as it does in the full-scale mechs, utilizing micro-scaled droids to effect constant mitigation and repair of damage at a slow, but constant rate.

The artificial nature and construction of the FAISE unit also renders it immune to most of the typical failings and vulnerabilities of those composed of flesh and blood.

Healing 6 (1200)
-- Ongoing (600)
-- Activation (-600)
-- Concentration (-300)
-- Side Effect (Dulled senses/impaired movement) (-300)

A suite of sophisticated micro-tools located within the frame of the standard FAISE unit, enabling rapid regeneration and repair of biological tissue and mechanical frames. It can heal and restore extensive damage with great precision and efficiency, doing in a matter of minutes what would take hours or days with standard medical procedures.

However, while the healing and repairs may be extensive and rapid, it requires a significant startup time to analyze and scan a target, in the range of 60 seconds, before any work can begin. Larger or more extensive damage takes longer to repair and heal, anywhere from seconds to minutes depending on its severity, and during the working process complete focus and concentration is required to maintain a running tally of what has and hasn’t been tended to. The process is remarkable and efficient, but carries with it risks from the heavy doses of anesthesia and methods for working, often causing targets to experience heavily dulled senses and sluggish movement for up to several minutes afterward, leaving them somewhat vulnerable until full recovery.

Revival System -- Current Stock: 0 (Base Cost: 2,000)
An intricate set of black box components situated in the sturdiest, safest part of Ashe's frame, guaranteed to survive nearly anything even if it wrecks the rest of her. Ejected upon termination of all major functions, and dimensionally shunted to the nearest and/or last recorded 'safe' location to begin reconstruction of a new, undamaged body. Takes up to several days to fully regenerate and restore the entire bodily mass, but guaranteed with intact memory records up to within several seconds of termination.

-- Side Effect (Fucking death) (-250)
-- Finite (Only one use) (-250)

Descriptor: The final option, originally intended as the last line of defense against any unwanted kidnapping or dismantling, or other unauthorized tinkering. It is the last resort, nuclear method for destroying a target -- and, unfortunately, anything within close proximity. It requires a brief preparation period of 15 seconds, during which the integral black-box components necessary for reconstruction are jettisoned, after which point the primary objective is to rush down and grapple, or grab hold of, the intended target of destruction to ensure they suffer the ensuing blast at point-blank range.

When ready...Ashe intentionally overloads and self-destructs her power core. The resulting blast erupts in a brilliant, but unique conflagration, forming a devastating blast that incinerates and consumes everything within a 50-foot radius, including Ashe herself and ensuring her complete destruction in the process. Shockwaves and force of the blast are felt much further away, but actual damage is kept contained by short-lived magnetic fields of the power cells’ last hurrah.

After the initial blast, the magnetic fields collapse to allow residual heat and radioactive fuel fragments to filter out and blanket an area twice the size of the blast zone, causing continual damage from the superheated air and fallout for several minutes, and leaving the entire area heavily contaminated and poisoned with radiation for several hours or even days if not properly cleansed.

-- Side Effect (Bigger/Easier target) (-150)
Move Object 5 (500)
-- Ongoing (500)
Damage 3 (300)
Speed 2 (400)
-- Ongoing (200)

Descriptor: Ashe is constructed at a large scale, easily several times larger than a 'normal' human-sized creature, though still retains mostly human-like proportions scaled up to something of a matching height. This larger size affords her proportionally greater levels of strength and simple movement speed thanks to larger and longer strides, but also makes her a much bigger and easier target. Going indoors may also be a problem.

Artificial Construction (900)
Adaptation
-- Need to Breathe (200)
-- Starvation and Thirst (50)
-- Need for Sleep (50)
-- Chemical and Toxic Environments (50)
-- Disease (50)
-- Nonbiological Anatomy (300)
-- Immune to Pain (200)

Descriptor: Ashe is a construct of indeterminate origin, made of machinery and synthetic components rather than flesh and blood. This removes many of the typical vulnerabilities of normal organic or living creatures.

Defense & Repair Matrix (900)
Protection 3 (300)
-- Ongoing (300)
Healing 1 (200)
-- Ongoing (100)

Descriptor: Ashe's construction incorporates materials which are relatively lightweight and of similar density to an organic creature of similar build, though of a surprising robustness and durability comparable to most forms of lighter combat-grade armor. Complimented by an internal array of energy dissipators and disruptors to cope with particularly grievous impacts and external forces, it affords surprising protection with no external giveaways to its presence.

It is combined with a set of nanotech fluids, which flows through Ashe's body in a similar way that blood does in living creatures, and which carris a host of micro-scaled repair droids which constantly work to mitigate and repair damage at a slow, but constant rate to dramatically prolong effective lifespan of deployments without needing actual downtime and repairs.

Highvolt Defense System (200)
Damage 2 (200)
-- Triggered [In response to being physically struck] (100)
-- Indiscriminate (-100)

Descriptor: A defensive ability designed to deliver brief, though powerful and intense shocks and voltages in response to attackers in melee combat. It is triggered in response to being physically struck with sufficient force. It is a somewhat 'dumb' system, however, and responds to any sufficiently strong impacts equally, regardless of source or intent to actually cause harm.

Tactical Array (500)
Communication (100)
Sense (Sight, Hearing & Extrasensory 1) (300)
-- Ongoing (100)

Descriptor: An array of equipment and functions situated primarily within Ashe's cranium. It allows accessing a wide range of exterior communications media and frequencies, even tapping into magical wavelength for less than physical connections.

Linked to it and part of the same array is a series of sensory and scanning arrays, equipped to boost and improve clarity of visual fields and detection of sounds, as well as a suite of technology to enable imaging and tracking of supernatural and magical phenomena not normally visible to conventional imaging means, and more basic things such as nightvision and limited x-ray imaging, and 360-degree awareness and scanning via radar and motion trackers.

War Machine (1,100)
Endurance 5 (500)
Agility 3 (600

Descriptor: Ashe is a war machine, intended for long operations without maintenance or recharging. As such, she can endure extended, intense activity far better than most could hope to.

Her advanced construction and nature also affords great coordination, dexterity and coordination which greatly belies what is normally expected for something her size, and which allows her to fully utilize her additional limbs with just as much precision and focus as all her others.

Ocular Bombardment System (300)
Damage 6 (600)
-- Ranged (300)
-- Affects Multiple 2 (300)
-- Activation (-300)
-- Indiscriminate (-300)
-- Side Effect (Obscured Vision) (-300)

Descriptor: Intended as the heavy, long-range weapon of Ashe's model line, requiring careful use but dealing devastating damage at extreme range The activation is signaled by the concentric rings in her eye lighting up as the energy generators 'spin up' and prepare for firing, one by one from the outside in; upon reaching the center, the 'iris' there glows white and the weapon system is ready for firing. While active and ready for use, however, the system telescopes Ashe's vision as if peering through the scope of a rifle, to allow for greater precision and accuracy with an included laser sight and targeting grid, but narrowing her field of view immensely.

Once sufficiently powered up and active, the weapon can be fired at one shot every five seconds, producing a beam of blue-hued light and energy which lances out to its target point with precision accuracy, with an effective range of several miles before losing cohesion, and explodes in a huge blast of light, heat and concussive force.

When its usage has run its course, or it must be deactivated, the process requires a full five-second cooldown during which visual receptors are turned off completely and fully rebooted, to clear away any lingering targeting functions.

Derringer Concealed Weapon System (400)
Damage 4 (400)
-- Ranged (200)
-- Finite (-200)

Descriptor: Named for its fashion of having no outwardly visible signs of its presence or usage, the weapon system is an internal one located primarily within the hands and forearms. It fires narrow beams of bright blue light which explode on impact in a bright flash and small cloud of heat and vapor, causing substantial damage to the target while minimizing damage to anything more than mere inches from the impact zone. They can be fired either from any arm, and from an entire hand or from a single outstretched finger to really make a 'point', but the resulting effect is unchanged. The system generates enough charge for up to 20 shots at a time, and once expended can generate a further store after one minute.
