Nah but seriously, out of the ones on the list that I know, Ninetales or perhaps Meta Knight are the picks I could see working best, and Amaterasu as well. Mumen Rider could also be fun but you'll quickly have bought all the things that he has in the series.

Don't particularly know Meta Knight but he looks cool.

Ninetales is one of people's favorite Gen 1 Pokémon, for good reason. And since you're going the PMD-canonical route you have the whole route open of the cursed trainer that became a Gengar. Now if only we had a Geng- oh wait... ;)

And I can personally vouch for Amaterasu as being a very fun character.
