Chrollo is a Calm Manipulator.
Calm: Chrollo carries a quiet confidence, and has been able to back it up through sheer intelligence, strategy, and cool charisma. Even under less than ideal circumstances, he's able to keep a cool head, and perceives anything less as a weakness. Even if he has to seethe underneath the surface, he will rarely show outward aggression and malice, though they can be detected by particularly keen senses.
Manipulator: He prefers to sit back and analyze his situation, particularly when he comes across an interesting ability that he would like to copy. As such, aggression is rarely his first priority. However, should his interests be best served by attacking, then you can count on him to do that. Whether it's in battle or in a social situation, he will always look to pull the strings.
Physical Description:
Chrollo is a young adult man of average height, with a lean, yet muscular build. His two defining physical traits are the cross-shaped tattoo on his forehead and the two orb-like earrings that he wears on either ear.
When left to his own devices, Chrollo typically wears his black hair slicked back, likely to bring more attention to his tattoo. His attire of choice usually consists of an open, fur-lined coat, black pants, and black shoes with white straps that resemble bandages that wrap around his ankles and calves.
He is not, however, above altering his clothing and appearance to fit his agenda; he's even willing to cover his forehead tattoo in order to avoid detection.
Character History:
Not much is known of Chrollo's past, and he prefers to keep it that way. His past is muddied in this way because of where he was born: a junkyard city named Meteor City, which wasn't on official records in his own world. At some point in his youth, he decided to band together with fellow Meteor City residents to form a band of thieves and brigands known as the Phantom Troupe, which came to become infamous for their various high profile crimes throughout the region.
At some point, he crossed the wrong person, who removed his nen abilities in a plot of revenge. As he roamed the lands for an exorcist who could reverse this, he found himself in an entirely new place--his nen was restored, but effectively reset to a beginner level, and so his journey was renewed.

Chrollo's primary ability is called "Skill Hunter," which allows him to copy another person's special ability, assuming he meets a very specific set of conditions:
1) First, he must see the ability in action with his own eyes.
2) He must ask about the nature of the ability and hear an answer from the original user.
3) He must have the person he's copying put their hand (or something approximate to a hand) on the cover of his book, the Bandit's Secret.
4) The first three conditions must be met within an hour.
Should he meet all four conditions, he will have permanent access to the ability he's copied, though he's bound to the same limitations and requirements as the original user.
