Character Name: Jin the Gilded

Character Source: OC

Starting Location: Opealon

Character Behavior:
Selfish Selflessness
Ask Jin and he will tell you that the world revolves around him. He is sin. In his eyes, he is the embodiment of self-gratification. However, his acts of kindness here and there say otherwise, but he will boil them down to "to build my ego" and write it off as an act of pride. He is greedy, but to lazy to persue. Gluttonous but picky. Prideful but humble where his skills faulter. Wrathful but restrained. Lustful but shy. The contradictions often come in the form of Jin's perspective versus the world's.

Physical Description:

Jin stands at six foot, three inches tall (190cm) and should weigh around 180lbs (81kg.) However, due to his ability to transmute himself into living gold, his true weight is 3420lbs (1552kg.) Due to this massive weight, he is often seen levitating instead of bothering with walking upon the ground.

Jin's skin is not fully golden in color, he maintains a peachy complexion, but his skin and blond hair both contain flecks of actual glittering gold. His hair is kept long and often tied back in a loose ponytail. Because of his vanity, the golden boy often wears only shorts that reach just past his knees and nothing else (aside from a neat hat from time to time.) Bare feet, bare chest, bare-knuckled, that is how Jin rolls. The presence of lean muscle comes with the need to show them off.

Character History:

Once upon a time, Jin was human. During a vacation to the vast seas of Opaelon, a deep-sea fishing expedition reeled in a tarnished lamp. Like every twelve year old who has heard of or seen in pop culture the legend of genies, he rubbed the lamp. Unlike every other twelve year old, this lamp did contain a djinn capable of granting wishes.

Jin counted his lucky stars but kept his wits about him. This jin appeared to be malevolent without a doubt... Each of his three wishes had to be chosen precisely. For the next three weeks, he kept the words "I wish" out of his mouth as if his mother threatened to wash his tongue with soap like any other curse word.

He memorized the rules of the wishes.

"Rule number one: Three wishes, then I leave." There was no rule against more wishes, but this djinn simply would not be around to grant them. "Rule number two: A wish may be only one sentence in length." With an A+ in his English class, he knew he could work with that. "Rule number three: If you die as a product of your own wish, any remaining wishes are lost." A dark finish to the three hard rules.

There was no rule against bringing back the dead, controlling the minds and hearts of others or anything that limited the wish beyond the scope of one sentence. Jin could definitely figure this out.

With heavy calculation and many iterations of his first wish written down (excluding the I-wish at the start), he finally came up with his first wish.

"I wish to have the ability to transmute matter to gold and back at will, with this power being beyond your control without my permission." The last clause, when spoken, brought a frown to the djinn's expression. Beyond his control left a sour taste on the immortal's tongue. The wish was granted... but the djinn made the ability slow and very tiring. As expected... It could take upwards of an hour to transmute a single silver coin to gold.

The second wish took another six weeks to formulate down to a single sentence. "I wish this power would grow as I see fit, and remain beyond your control without my permission." Even more power was stripped from the Djinn's ability to warp the wish. The djinn had expected the second wish to be a completely different topic, not to build on the first.

In one year's time, the third wish. At this time, Jin had learned how to advance his new powerset, and the number of hours it took in training. It required great effort, mentally and physically, but changing anything with a wish meant granting the Djinn access to what he had managed thus far. The third wish was simple; "I wish for you to become a simple human, living on a medium-sized farmland for the rest of your mortal life."

The djinn's wicked grin started strong when Jin mentioned making his final wish, but crumpled quickly. Hoping to just grant the wish and move on, hearing this would be the last wish to grant ever - the last means to mess with the lives of mortals before becoming one - the Djinn was utterly broken.

In the eight years since this final wish, Jin visited the farmer-djinn's home several times. The last visit, just after his twenty-third birthday, revealed that while the ex-djinn was still grumpy as ever with him, the djinn was settled for the long haul with a wife, two children and a third on the way.

In this time, Jin had been coming into his new life too. While he had acquired seemingly great power, he had not let it go to his head. At worst... Jin had become exceedingly aloof after developing something of an identity crisis.

Meaning “Transmute into gold;” Jin reserves the ability to transmute any material into gold with direct skin contact. Material that has been transmuted into gold can be transmuted back in the same way.

There are a few defining attributes of Jin’s variation of Chrysopoeia. The first; it is at-will. Jin can turn any matter into gold, even the air touching his skin (though far less efficient than transmuting higher density matter.) The second major difference is that this transmutation can be reversed, returning matter to its original state.

There is a limitation to this ability. Several elements, often labeled as “Divine Metals” or materials with supernatural components, are immune to transmutation. The current elements known to Jin are;

Mercury, the Poison-Liquid Metal
Sulfur, the Burning Brimstone metal
Platinum, the Ever Pure metal
Adamantium the Absolute Metal

Gold is twenty-five times heavier per volume than cotton. Turning a normal T-shirt of 130 grams (4.5 ounces) to a 3,250 gram (114 ounce or seven pound) golden T-shirt can hamper movement greatly. Not only this, but solid gold is less flexible than cotton. This effects more than one’s street clothes. Gold is over twice the weight of iron, turning a 15 kilogram (33 pound) suit (at the lighter spectrum) into 30 kilograms or over 60 pounds.

Targets with higher strength (Move Object effects) can maintain maneuverability in this heavier armor.

Chrysokinesis is the raw form of Jin's ability to manipulate gold. This is what all techniques start as before they are refined. In essence, Jin can create a 10 foot radius sphere within line of sight. Within this space, he can move up to _______ pounds of gold and shape this amount gold to his whim. Lifting this gold and warping it as if it were wet clay require heavy concentration and quickly taxes Jin's stamina. This ability is in effect raw, and can be used for one-off feats such as building structures bit by bit.

Chrysomorphism, or Gold Form, is the more technical term for Gilding. Jin exists in this state at all times. With this form comes superior strength, superior defensive abilities and, surprisingly, superior mobility. This stems from an innate use of Chrysokinesis on himself to enhance his physical abilities. Gold is still soft and very heavy, so these abilities are not immediately beyond the spectrum of human scope.

Being he is "living gold," there are a few things that simply do not bother him. Radiation, for example, can still create isotopes of gold - but they are still gold and do not cause DNA mutation (thus no worry of cancer.) Gold does not react to much chemically, and as far as toxins and disease are concerned, he is golden.

Though he still registers "pain" he does not react to it as much. For example, if his arm is severed he can feel not only the absence of it, but the severity of the injury. In simpler terms, his pain has been reduced from reflex to notification. Normally not the best thing to get rid of, the lack of urgency in damage is compensated for by a natural healing factor that melds golden skin together, leaving no scars after a while.

(SIDE EFFECTS LIST) There are drawbacks. Due to the human weight per cubic centimeter being roughly one gram, and the weight of gold is closer to 19, many once-walkable surfaces are not usable. He is incapable of swimming, standing on sand (or any soft surface), moving silently.

The weight has a slight benefit. Jin is very, VERY difficult to move. The impact from heavy weapons, body slams, hurricane-force winds... These things may find it difficult, or at the very least impossible to budge the one-and-a-half ton man. The exception is to himself, to compensate from never being able to stand on a wooden floor or walk through sand without sinking to his neck, Jin uses this innate Chryokinesis of himself to constantly fly.

Being his body is gold, the defenses it bequeaths come with a few drawbacks. Temperatures over roughly 2000 degrees Fahrenheit (roughly 1000 Celcius) can bypass protection over time if conditions persist for more than a few seconds. If grounded or in proximity to the ground, electricity bypasses half of his protection (being gold is an excellent conductor.)

The weaknesses to heat and lightning are not tied to a modifier. These are pure "fodder" as they fit into neither Weakness (reducing effectiveness) or Limited.

Subtotal 200
Jin is capable of overcoming the weight of the Gilding through an advanced application of Chrysokinesis (much like he enhances his own strength, or the durability of golden skin.) These effects specifically combat the weight and mobility issue while in the Chrysomorph state.

However, even with advanced mobility, there are side effects from this form. His skin glimmers like gold, meaning even in the dark, a single candle from meters away can disrupt any attempt at stealth. The magical hum caused by constant flight ruins the potential silence of flight.

The Limited modifier doesn't really apply here. Remember, Abilities with the Limited modifier generally break down into two types: those usable only in certain situations and those usable only on certain things. For example Only While Singing Loudly, Only While Flying, Only on Men (or Women), Only Against Fire, and so forth.

Your Speed Debuff would cost 100E, not 50E, since it is listed here as Rank 2. The Removable modifier isn't really applicable to any of these Debuffs, since the ability to use this Effect cannot be physically taken from Jin.

Be sure to include the Rank of your Flight Effect. Agility also costs 200E per Rank of Effect, not 100E. As for the general description... You mentioned how Jin uses his innate Chryokinesis to constantly fly in the ability above this one, but I think that would fit better in this ability description, so try to directly state that he flies/levitates here.
