Character History:

Ridley's history was a well-known matter of galactic record at one point. Being the strongest of his clutch of space dragons, later designated 'geoform-187', the brutal creature spent little time in his clutch in the nest before establishing dominance over his fellow siblings, stealing the best bits of meat and food for himself even at the cost of letting several of his smaller siblings starve. this dominating, aggressive nature served him well when he Grew into one of the largest of his kind, and soon, he found himself flying off from his home planet and exploring the wider universe in the characteristic wanderlust many of his kind exhibited.

This is where he chanced across a space pirate frigate. While initial communication was... unfriendly, and forced the dragon to use it's agility to dodge anti-ship missiles and cannons to board the vessel, the cunning creature quickly asserted his dominance over the vessel, and was immediately inducted into the space pirate army, and promoted to captain of the vessel.

The Space Pirate High council was initially surprised, but strength was the measure of worth in the pirate community, and Ridley certainly showed strength... so the Council decided to give him a shot, sending orders to their new commander sending him and his crew into some of the most dangerous warzones to see if Ridley would indeed obey their orders.

To their surprise, as their skirmishes with the galactic federation were slowly escalating into all-out war, Ridley not only survived, but flourished even in areas previously considered impossible to conduct raiding operations in. The dragon's feral disposition belied a natural genius in terms of tactical command and strategic understanding, and his ability to outmaneuver and crush the galactic patrol at every turn quickly earned him the nickname of "The Cunning God of Death"

From there, the rising star kept rising among the pirates and earned a considerable following as a space pirate commander...

And then, the K-2L incident happened.

A quest to secure a potent spaceship fuel known as Afloraltite - enough to kick the space pirate's plans into overdrive by a young Ridley ready to secure his own place as the Pirate's supreme military leader - Ended in disaster.
It started with hesitation. an adorable young girl that touched his heart long enough that he, Ridley, actually hesitated for a moment. Not long enough to save her, of course, but long enough that her mother got in the way.
This moment proved critical, as the young little human's wretched father sacrificed his life to stop the pirate commander with a massive explosion, killing himself in the blast, destroying the entirety of Ridley's pirate forces, and leaving him on the verge of death.

Luckily, while Nielas Aran had managed to injure Ridley heavily with his suicide bomb, the Space dragon had enhanced regenerative abilities that only required food to fuel - food that the charred corpses of both his former pirate forces and the K-2L Colonists were perfect supplies of.

Soon after limping home, Ridley was given the enjoyable job of killing off the majority of the Chozo population left on Planet Zebes, working with the turn-coat Mother Brain, working well with the plan of creating a bunch of genetically-engineered soldiers. He was thwarted, however, by a young youth that he initially disregarded as nothing more than a weak bounty hunter. Underestimation caused him to let go of a young Samus, still reeling from a bout of PTSD, and the Hunter had worked with several friends she'd brought on the mission to foil his plans.

The Space Dragon made the wise decision to never make the same mistake again when it concerned that particular hunter.

Still, time kept turning for Ridley, and he soon found himself the grand general of the space pirate forces, a position only just underneath their new absolute leader, Mother Brain. Under her direction, she stole a clutch of metroids, fought the legendary Adam Malkovich to a standstill when he came after the pirate forces, and readied to take down the Galactic Federation's most problematic commander himself...

That is, until he heard a distress beacon from Zebes Proper.
Kraid had been killed. The Mother Brain was in Danger.

Rushing back, to his surprise, the same hunter he'd fought so long ago stood before him now, bristling with an upgraded armorskin.

Samus Aran. Initially, he had no trouble overwhelming her, the bounty hunter still mentally too weak to defeat him, and he prepared to deal the death blow...
It didn't turn out the way he expected. with new energy and venom, The skilled warrior showed her true capabilities and overwhelmed Ridley with new strength, leaving him half-dead and broken.
And She did it on the count of 'three'.

What had once been curiosity, sneering, and abject disappointment at the hunter Mother brain had tried to mark as his equal morphed into something different...
Hatred.
Abject hatred.
The years dragged on, Ridley continued to scheme and plot and work for the domination of his space pirates across the galaxy as a whole, and yet no matter how far their plans went, The hunter showed up at every turn. Samus Aran. Every minute detail from the small marks he'd left on her suit to the stinging pain only her missiles managed to produce became etched in Ridley's memory as what started as one losing battle turned into a series of desperate skirmishes. The Space pirate employed Cybernetics, mutagenic substances, clever plotting, and the manic energy only someone completely immersed in pure hatred could summon up from their core as his goals slowly shifted. What once were the broad hopes of a monster fixated only on galactic conquest narrowed and shifted to a much simpler goal:
Defeat the hunter. Crush her skull. End their rivalry with the murder of the woman that had thwarted him time and again.

Ridley pursued this goal across Tallon IV, Fought the hunter gain on Norion, fell as close to death as he'd ever met falling to his death on Phaaze after yet another death match, had victory stolen from his clutches by a baby metroid on SR-388's surface, and finished his fight in one last death match in the depths of Norfair, finally disregarding his cybernetic implants, and fought harder than the pirate general ever had in his life in one last death match with Samus on the planet where he'd faced his first true defeat: Zebes.

And yet, no matter how hard the pirate general fought, no matter how many wounds he ignored, how far he pushed his body beyond it's limit... The hunter rose victorious. Because she'd found stronger weapons? Because she'd had more resolve? Because this time she'd simply gotten just a little more use out of her absurd amount of luck?
Ridley didn't know, and as his own plasma reserves were detonated in his body by a well-placed shot of Plasma by the hunter that had long been his nemesis, he realized it didn't matter.
Part of him felt satisfied that their score that had lasted so long was finally settled.
A much, much larger part of the Draconic monster wished only for one more chance to break the hunter in two.

Perhaps that last wish was what motivated some unknown force to move the Space Dragon's barely breathing body to an unmarked dune in Mesa Roja.

Abilities/Skills:

Draconic body:
Effects: Growth rank 2 - 400 essence
modifiers: Ongoing - 200 essence
600 essence total
Ridley's large frame is incredibly imposing, with the large dragon being nearly 15 feet tall and close to as wide even in an emaciated, damaged state, allowing him to tower over smaller creatures.

Draconic wings -
Effects: Flight rank 1 - 200 essence
Modifiers: Ongoing - 100 essence
300 essence
Ridley's wings allow him to fly even in his most weakened state, though the weakened space pirate is noticeably slower than he once was.

Hooked Tail:
Effects:
Damage rank 4: 400 essence
Ridley's most dangerous weapon, his hooked tail, is a vicious, prehensile spear that offers Ridle a high level of control and is bristling with muscles. Even at his weakest, his tail remains a weapon that can puncture through even tough materials with ease.

Slashing Talons
Effects: Damage rank 2: 200 essence
Ridley's Claws are still just as sharp as ever, allowing him to cut into his prey with ease and allowing him to fillet normal humans without much effort.

1,500 Essence total.

As previously agreed on with Kane (and if this is okay with staff) I'd like to pay the 20-token character switch cost for them - Tokens are stored on Mewtwo. Let me know if you need me to also post this elsewhere, as the Prize Board thread isn't open to replies at the moment.

The Abilities look fine, so consider this switch approved.

I'll speak to someone about getting the Tokens deducted from Mewtwo, and getting Kane's username changed to Ridley.
