Quickness (Q): 10%
Skill (S): 10%

A large and exceptionally durable physical specimen before being granted the gifts of the Immaterium, Kartan's first and often most successful strategy in most situations is to simply outlast his foe and lay down the killing blow once their energy is entirely spent. Though he is no less sharper mentally for it, his many years bound with the warp-spawn inside him have rendered his style of fighting less refined and far more animalistic than the once famed cold professionalism of the Fourth Legion he served under.

While Kartan himself is a personable and well spoken, albeit rather quiet, personality, the daemon Rhamac is a very different sort. Subdued and dutiful juxtaposed against quick-tempered and crass, many are surprised to see their shared form switch between the two on a dime, or even talk to themselves aloud as though they were separate. Fortunately, Kartan is the dominant personality, at least for now.

Physical Description:

Standing somewhere just over eight feet tall, a fusion of plates of power armour, off-white bone and blackened daemon-flesh, the very sight of one of the blessed Secondborn is enough for most denizens of this world to give them a wide berth. Each individual among their number is a uniquely malformed mix of man, machine and beast, however their appearance is invariably bestial and enlarged, twisted as the daemon's inflated sense of power and ego sees fit. Hands fused into claws, digitgrade raptor-like legs and other twists of the natural form are all common amongst those touched by the warp.

Kartan in particular possesses a crown of misshapen ceramite horns atop his helmet, while a glance at the cracked crimson lenses and ventilation grille reveal a bright orange light. As he speaks it seems as though his breath steams through every single opening it can find, bursting into full blown flickers of flame as it opens into a jagged-toothed maw when the daemon sees fit to feed, or simply to strike fear into lesser beings. His once slate grey armoured form is now stained in a deep red, the preferred colour of the servants of Rhamac's master.

Character History:

"Kartan Ruvorok was once an Assault Captain of the Fourth Legion of the Legiones Astartes, the Iron Warriors. Truth be told, that is all he can remember of the time before the Long War. He had served faithfully, first as a figure of inspiration, then as a brother in arms to his fellows in the chaos of the great Heresy. The Long War be damned, they looked out for no more than them and theirs, and yet it still followed them. First as the legacy of any conflict, then something much worse.

Rhamac. Rhamac. Rhamac. Oh how familiar Kartan became with that name. At first a mere irritation, then a whisper, then... something inside of him. It promised him power, it promised him strength, it promised him justice for all those fallen. It said it wanted nothing more than to see Kartan's convictions held. He'd heard the stories of the Serrated Sun, of the Lupercii, how the symbiosis of humanity and daemon could create something far beyond either... And foolishly, he accepted that bargain.

By the end of that solar cycle, Kartan was Rhamac and Rhamac was Kartan. One and the same, from Astartes to slavering, schizophrenic Warp-spawned beast, locked away by their former comrades to unleash unto the narrow halls of enemy ships like an attack dog, and in that pitiful state they would stay for years. Until on one pitched assault upon a fortress in the sand, they were downed by a lucky autocannon round and awoke, pinned down by rubble in an underground tunnel, surrounded by noone but the dead. For the first time in decades, trapped and alone.

There they were left trapped, bickering constantly with eachother for days on end. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and there even the physiology of an Astartes reaches its limit. In one final, maddened bid to cling to existence, Rhamac tore into their arm, the splintering of ceramite fangs, cracking of bone and rush of warm blood into their mouth awakening a newfound strength, an understanding between man and daemon. It wouldn't be long before both of them would soon be free. Warp-tainted flesh knitting itself back together around the stump of bone and metal that was once a left hand, they stepped into the sunlight for the first time as partners, rather than two wills vying for the same body.

Life after that and before, well, this world had became somewhat of a blur. Sometimes they fought, sometimes they rested, sometimes they led, sometimes they followed. Somehow in the clutches of Chaos, peace was found between two beings."

"Don't be so melodramatic."

"I'M TRYING TO TELL A STORY HERE."

"That's the last time you get control of the writing hand!"

"GET FUCKED!"

Abilities/Skills:

Altered Physiology - 1000 Essence
Adaptive: 500
Nonbiological Anatomy: 300
Immune to Pain: 200
Endurance Rank 5: 500

The modified physiology of an Astartes is equal parts a marvel of biological engineering and a complete enigma to those who are responsible for it. As a vessel for a being of the Immaterium it is taken to an entirely new level, defying all known laws of nature as it twists to suit the ends of its twin hosts.

Warp-Borne Plate - 300 Essence

Protection 3: 300
Modifier: Weakness (Armour Piercing): -150
Modifier: Ongoing: +150

A suit of scavenged combat armour, primarily composed of Mark III and IV components, now fused with its wearer. Through some unknown alterations of sorcery and ancient technology, it has now in essence become part of his body as much as his flesh or bone. While perhaps outdated, it has been unfailing in servitude.

Bone-Blade Mutation - 200 Essence
Damage Rank 4: 400
Modifier: Activation: -200

No faithful soldier of the Emperor is unarmed as long as he has his faith, the old saying goes. As it turns out, that goes very literally for some of his former soldiers. Those touched by a daemon are capable of reshaping their very bodies into weaponry. Both Kartan and Rhamac have become accustomed to reshaping their arms, preferring the form of a single curved spike of bone and steel, as sharp as it is thick and durable, alongside one untouched claw. The process may take a short moment, but it's better to have one arm than be so easily disarmed.

Sorry, it appears I misread. Should I simply just take it down to Rank 2 so it all sorts out? Since I'll likely just end up buying that particular rank up ASAP anyway.
