It was the night of the town’s annual crops celebration dance when it all changed. The whole town gathered as did some lucky travelers who happened to pass through. A large barn was filled with music, laughter and good times. Kayleigh noticed one of the blacksmith’s sons kept staring at her throughout the night. As the hours passed on and the glances became more obvious they finally started talking. A spark emerged between the two youngsters and they retreated to a more quiet corner of the barn. Little did she know that her newfound friend had been rejecting one of their young traveler guests on numerous o11ccasions. When the blonde sorceress noticed the duo retreated themselves she gave into her temper.
Having her ego crushed and her heart broken the sorceress ran back to one of their trailers, retrieving a small red gem from one of the containers. Making her way back to the barn she started whispering with ancient tongue towards the gem. The duo was talking, laughing, stepping on the edge of a possible future. Kayleigh noticed a strange blonde girl approaching. She asked whether or not she could help the stranger. She got no answer, instead, the sorceress held the now glowing stone overhead while chanting the strange language. Kayleigh dropped to the ground in excruciating pain. Her eyes started to glow as red as the gem itself.
The tone of the traveler changed, she was nearing the end of the enchantment when the blacksmith’s son penetrated the sorceress unprotected skull with a nearby pitchfork. The body of the attacker dropped to the ground and the gem stopped glowing.
The burning pain in Kayleigh’s body did not stop. Being held in the arms of her savior she panicked, not knowing what was happening. Her eyes widened as the flames within her burst outwards, engulfing everything around her. A joyful party turned into a macabre burning graveyard. Everyone around her screamed as they burned to their death. Kayleigh walked amongst them, not experiencing the flames but seeing everyone she knew, everyone she loved, burning to ashes.
In the aftermath of the inferno, Kayleigh’s spirit broke. Her magical outburst was picked up by a sorcerer nearby who came to investigate. He took Kayleigh in and brought the gem with him to investigate what happened to the poor girl. In time they learned she was being cursed, but due to the interrupted enchantment, the curse was incomplete. Within her, a now-dormant power rested. Weeks passed as the sorcerer experimented on her, helping her control it, trying to remove it. But her body was a magical mess. Until one day, he attempted a ritual forbidden by his old teachers. Kayleigh was not at ease when she walked into the -by blood drawn- circle of blood. Needless to say, the ritual was a disaster, unleashing the dormant power, reducing both the sorcerer and his house to ashes. Alone once again, she picked up the gem and continued her lonely path, looking for answers.
After a year of drifting, running, surviving, Kayleigh met a small group of men going by the name: The Raiders. A pack of nine men that traveled the galaxy in search of riches. The leader, Orian, saw more in Kayleigh than just another drifter. He saw himself many years ago and took her in. Training her in the art of hand to hand combat and other useful skills. It wasn’t long before fate struck and the young woman was on the verge of losing control of her ability. But, it was Orian that calmed her down, preventing another meltdown. In order to protect the woman, Orian did not tell the others about Kayleigh’s ability for her own protection.
years passed, during one of the Raiders cave-explorations, Orian got wounds of fatal nature. They took him to one of the nearby villages of the hinterlands. The local medicine man couldn’t do anything for their leader and goodbyes were said. Overwhelmed by her emotions Kayleigh slipped and revealed the abilities she has been hiding for all those years. The new leader of the Raiders wasn’t as kindhearted as Orian was. He saw potential in Kayleigh, a potential payday. The Raiders turned on her but clearly underestimated her abilities.
The village suffered from the battle, houses burned, people were hurt and panic was caused throughout the community. Flames engulfed the houses as Kayleigh made her escape.
Now, with the Raiders on her tail and her teacher gone she was all alone. Now on her way to find her place in this universe.

When people get close they will get burned by the flames. Keeping this up is extremely tiring to her body, if she keeps it up for too long she will pass out. This ability does not work underwater, is not controllable by her and is wildly unpredictable.

Her mother, father, and two sisters lived happily in a small cottage.
