Overview/Notable Features (top)
Upon approach, Kraw’s appearance is modest. The greenest planet in the core Worlds, it suggests an overflow of life, but for many travellers, it spells the exact opposite. Kraw is a land of wild beasts and untamed monsters, and whispers of civilizations long past that could not stand against the planet’s neverending search for food.
As such, it’s become a sparsely populated planet, mostly filled with those searching for adventure or looking to engage in a dangerous hunt. Small encampments of hunters and scavengers, either looking to turn predator into prey or explore the world’s mysterious ruins, pop up throughout the jungle, satellites of New Abraxas. Across the planet, you'll also find aging remnants of older civilizations, but whoever these older cultures may have been, they no longer exist ... just more victims in a long line of them.
Do you have what it takes to survive the ever-growing appetite of Kraw?
Terrain/Climate (top)
Kraw is, essentially, a small planet-sized jungle. Most of the planet is covered in an endless forest climate, incredibly humid, with rivers cutting through the greenery every once in a while. The humidity is widespread, with even underground caverns having high levels of humidity. Lakes pop up, but there are few large bodies of water across the world. The few small Settlements that have popped up, including New Abraxas, have done so in a variety of small ruins once buried by the flora and fauna. These ruins suggest civilizations that dotted the landscape long ago, before the planet became untamed. But in the forest, you are safe from nothing. Disease is a common threat, but the more pressing threat you will face is immediate and sudden death at the hands of some creature's claws or giant, gnashing jaws. Few species will spare you if they come across you in a moment of hunger, and rumors from the locals say that the planet itself needs to consume life-forms to survive, and that’s what spelled the end of civilizations long ago. In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lions don’t sleep. In the jungle, nobody is safe. In the jungle, an innocent daisy or a treasure chest might flash its teeth at you as quickly as a tyrannosaurus rex.
Wildlife (top)
Kraw is quite literally alive with all walks of predators, from cunning feline huntresses to venomous spiders the size of small vehicles. Massive snakes and vicious, overgrown arthropods lurk in many of the dark corners of his fetid, dangerous world. The only place where you are unlikely to find something that immediately wants to kill you is in the world's lakes and rivers, where many of the fish are just that... fish. This isn't to say you should take a nap in the water, because this is still Kraw.On top of these more traditional predators and larger versions of familiar species, Kraw is home to even more horrifying and fantastical monsters. Velociraptors, tyrannosaurus rex, and other mysteriously genetically altered dinosaurs sweep through the underbrush, hunting for prey. Small dragons and lumbering rancors jockey for survival. And, working for the planet’s “best interest,” the flora and fauna themselves have adapted to become dangerous predators, like the Devil’s Snare, ensnaring an unlucky traveler to help feed Kraw’s unending hunger. Plants may look pleasant only to be viciously poisonous, and those that aren't poisonous are often carnivorous.
Trust. Nothing.
Kraw is never satiated.
