Magnus Might is the alter-ego of Aiden Lee, a retired inventor, and house-body. In this "new take on life" as Magnus, he maintains the altruistic nature, but tacks on wanderlust. Magnus Might has the common catchphrase "risk it for the biscuit," but does not necessarily believe in "high risk, high reward." He works happily on thank-yous and smiles, with the potential of his deeds being retold later. Everything he does is with a good attitude, believing firmly in the silver lining, and "anything is an obstacle worth conquering."

Physical Description:

As the "avatar" of Dr. Aiden Lee, a man far into his years, Magnus Might was designed without the "new-age Edgelord" in mind. In fact, many would say he looks absolutely unassuming if he were to stand among a gaggle of college students.

Magnus is six foot two, putting him on the tall side, and his weight is just over two hundred pounds - namely due to his magnetite composition. Blond hair, blue eyes, always wearing a smile, some might go so far as to call Magnus a "pretty boy," to which he will say thanks and just smile brighter.

He "appears" to wear an assortment of long sleeve shirts and slacks, combined with worn old leather shoes for what many would call an "old man vibe."

Character History:
Magnus Might is a recent invention of Dr. Aiden Lee Ph.D. with a material body composed of magnetite and minute amounts of other components, he is brought to life by a series of enchantments acting like a "program" that connects him to Dr. Lee through a full-immersion-gaming system (FIGS, for short.)

Aiden Lee invented Magnus in his late years, after realizing his life dedicated to creating fictional worlds meant he had never fully explored the real world. Magnus Might's very name originates from one of his first interactions with using the Cloud as a platform for interactive games, before graduating medical school and changing his online name to Dr_LeeR0Y.

His goal with Magnus is to experience the world at large and be the hero he always pretended to be in video games. Being a retired inventor, he wanted Magnus to be a project of pure altruism, where self-sacrifice simply meant dipping into his retirement fund for the sake of saving lives. Much like one would simply re-roll a character in a tabletop game, should they fall.

Magnus is linked to Dr. Lee's FIG System, but ONLY to a particular system. This is the means by which Magnus is effectively piloted. Beyond this, it can be used to interface with the Cloud, much like a personal communication device (simply built-in.)

Despite looking “human” in most cases, Magnus is in fact a Gray Goo - a collection of tiny machines. He is a non-living construct with sentience. As such, he experiences the following benefits;

Magnus does not have internal organs, nor a need to sustain them through normal means. Meaning, he does not suffer brain damage, heart failure, suffocation, or starvation. No biological disease or chemical/toxic environment can alter his nonexistent “biology.”

Due to his “body” being held together by magnetic forces, even decompression in space does not do his physical body harm. With cold improving magnetic attraction, cold environments (including that in space) can almost be seen as beneficial.

While he does not require sleep, when Magnus is not controlled by Aiden Lee, the remnant AI is very simple and rudimentary, programmed mostly for self-preservation.

In regards to “pain,’ Magnus can “feel” it, but it registers more as “taking damage.” The best way to consider this is a video game with hit points per body part - which is what Aiden designed it to simulate. Magnus does not suffer from the pain of ordinary injuries but is aware of them.

The Way of Iron Fist is a unique ability that relies heavily on the frictionless liquid-like magnetic suspension that composes Magnus’ body. Various styles of martial arts have been extrapolated and adapted to suit this particular physiology, furthering its unique nature.

Offensively, any point of the body can be used as a striking surface by moving mass to the point of impact. This internal motion is not seen externally, but is faster than the striking motion itself to impart additional force. This was the premise to Mighty Fist, but now includes any body surface with much higher efficiency and skill. Despite high force, these blows often have a swift follow up as well.

Defensively, Magnus is capable of swift reactions and the ingrained skill to evade or redirect attacks to help mitigate damage, if not potentially avoid it entirely. The more innate manipulation of internal anatomy has also been streamlined to increase stamina and efficiency.

Dr. Aiden Lee, PhD. (NPC) and the Fig Orchard​

Aiden Lee has a doctorate in Neural Biotechnology and Arcane Technology (often shortened to Arcanotech.) With this background in technology integration he invented FIGS, the Full-Immersion Gaming System.

In essence, the FIG System (and slightly more expensive FIG Pi, for developers) was a portable immersion device into the Cloud. It was safe to immerse, but had all the benefits of a “full” immersion. The selling point is that its use of Arcanotech made it cheaper to produce with greater performance, stability and update capacity.

Doctor Lee was in his late thirties when he released FIGS. It was relatively inexpensive for the average consumer yet offered high-end performance. He already had a hundred small “games” to be played. Needless to say, it took off quite quickly.

Two years later, the FIG Pi system came out, along with “Figgy Pudding,” which introduced the programming language that allowed him to create content through the FIG Pi system, creating interactive content within the Cloud. The easy to use half-programming, half-thought system allowed for thousands of games to hit the FIG system within the first year of release. In the years following, some developers would build their careers around content creation.

Through a modest collection of royalties, Doctor Lee was able to sit back after FIG Pi and improve upon both the player side and developer side of his creation.

LeeRoy_PhD​

Doctor Aiden Lee, PhD. is a man of many interests. One of which was a competitor in eSport events, particularly in Fighting, First-Person-Shooter and the PVP side of MMORPG’s, as well as submitting several speed runs and holding the record on and off for several years for some of his favored games.

His username is easily recognizable, and often quickly sniped by gamers. Due to his presence in Social Media, many of these posers are often called out, with Doctor Lee offering an apology if anything said poser did was offensive. Over the years and many occurrences, this habit has shone a wholesome light onto Doctor Lee, and his fanbase has only grown for it.

Retirement​

Doctor Lee has retired. At sixty years old, he believed he had little more to offer Fig Orchard, the name of his sole-proprietorship. He finally retired at seventy five, once his daughter had finished college and advanced training in Figgy Pudding, as well as the construction of the FIGS and FIG Pi systems.

He has retired to a private island in Opaelon. Despite his use of magic making him something of an outcast among the Islanders, he is happy to live in solitude - considering most of his days are spent enjoying reaping what he had sown - a large gaming community and social following of nerds, both wholesome and competitive.

Most of his days he spends immersed in his FIGS Pi+, a system designed specifically to pilot a gray-goo android named Magnus Might.

Future of FIGS​

While Doctor Lee has retired, his only child, Cassandra Lee, has taken over as the face. She seeks to keep the platform affordable to consumers both new and old, as well as open source to allow developers to produce games and other content. The Fig Orchard (headquarters of the FIG company) is located on Erda Nona, but has an outpost on each world to act as a network of servers for the FIG development and gaming community, and a shop to pick up or repair your FIGS.[/heading]
