[NPC Thread] A Mysterious Fragment

[Kagami]

Booker was getting annoyed to how this is going. This sulking and moping is honestly getting on his nerves and the fact was that he's constantly surrounded by the stuff with how dark, quiet and depressive the Valley can be, affecting anyone and anything that comes into contact with it.

"Well, sulking isn't going to get you anywhere and besides, I'm very sure that he misses you. You are as important as the others."

"What good will that do when it's all gone?"

The figure seemed to fizzle as its head seemed to shake. It seemed to be on the verge of disappearing into the shadows entirely.

"Just... let me disappear."

 

[Kagami]

Booker was getting fed up with this negative self-talk and so he floated towards Retsag in a dash.

"I'm sorry Retsag but I am not going to let you disappear on me like this. We are going to get to the bottom of this and I have to go back to check on Kagami back on Erde Nona."

His tone was calm but direct towards Retsag as he would reach over to grab this piece, well, if he could get it. He can't let Retsag stay like this after all as it's not going to be doing any favors.

 

[Sans]

Booker's hand would appear to wrap around nothing as Retsag slowly faded into nothing. The moment his fingers touched him, though, Retsag came back into stark clarity. The static no longer crackled, but rather glowed with a chrome coloration. Every bit of its features, too, came into stark focus, if only in the utter lack of detail in all parts of its body except for its face. On its pale face, it had two black voids for eyes, both cracked in opposite directions, and a black hole where its mouth should be.

"LET GO OF ME, YOU STUPID GHOST!"

Its voice sounded almost human as Retsag resisted Booker's grasp, attempting to disappear again.

 

[Kagami]

"If you are going to act like a misbehaving child, you will deserve the same in return."

Booker wasn't going to be bullied by this fragment even if he is in a way, disturbed, but his own resolution was going to push him forward. In fact, if was going to be tricky for him to get Retsag out with him with so much resistance.

"We are leaving this Valley for your own good."

Booker clinged onto the fragment in his arms as he would make his way out of the cottage.

"UNHAND ME AT ONCE! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND ANYTHING?!"

The fragment remained solidified under Booker's grasp as he dragged it out of the cottage. Leaving the radio behind, its voice, angry, emanated only from the phone in Booker's hand. It continued to resist him with every change it got, to the point of literally flopping down and forcing Booker to carry its entire weight behind him.

Booker wasn't going to take the nonsense Retsag was currently doing as he was still floating along the Valley to get to a nearby location that both him and Retsag would be taken from of Nos'Talgia to arrive at Erde Nona. In fact, he knew where to go on this as there is multiple people involved and what Retsag was struggling, he dropped the phone on the ground, leaving it behind.

By the look of his eyes, he wasn't taking it and he's keeping silent about it as well.
