Psychedelic Sunshine United Party

The Psychedelic Sunshine United Party (or P.S.U.P) is a clandestine group of like-minded oneironauts who protect innocent travelers and residents of The Medium from harm and tyranny, although their influence and operations seem to extend to all of Multerra. They have operatives on some of the 8 worlds, but nobody is sure how many. They are small, but nobody is sure how small. They have been called heroes and terrorists, dreams and nightmares, but there is no argument that the P.S.U.P. has taken significant steps in furthering their goals...whatever they may be. Their operations seem strange at times, often nonsensical, sometimes appearing to be no more than childish pranks. Their movements are almost exclusively controlled by Optix. The High Priestess of the Psychedelic Sunshine United Party rules not through fear or discipline, but through respect, trust, and a history of results.

Optix
Physical Description:

Optix manifests as a beautiful, translucent woman. Her hair and clothes are often flowing gently, as if unaffected by gravity. The most noticeable feature of her appearance is a pair of sunglasses with magic lenses. These lenses often project psychedelic rainbow lights, but sometimes flash pictures or visions.

Character History:

Optix is the echo of a powerful burst of psychic energy given life and sentience under the strange laws of The Medium. She sprang fully-formed into the dreamscape, imbued with passion and purpose and a love of all living things. When she first manifested, Optix spent much of her time trying to make sense of the nonsensical Medium. She began by exploring, finding dreamscapes and magical tomes and artifacts, and eventually other sentient life. She met dreamers, dreams, nightmares, hackers, viruses, meditating monks, ghosts, acid tripping hippies, inter-dimensional arms dealers, schizophrenic sorcerers, and stranger things besides. She became an experienced traveler and resident of the strange world, and began helping others traverse and survive The Medium, which led her to earn some unwanted attention from the darker residents of The Medium. For safety and to continue her mission, Optix recruited a number of friends to join her organization, the Psychedelic Sunshine United Party.

These days Optix spends most of her time hiding in the Medium, acting through her proxies.

Abilities/Skills:

Glasses [100]
Communication 1 (+100)
Optix’ glasses allow her to communicate with her operatives across Multerra.

Skribl
NIPnUxh.jpg

Effect: Summon 1 (+300)
DESCRIPTION:

Skribl is a graffiti artist from Chicago who ate too much acid one night and went spray painting in the subways beneath the city. She painted a mural of a beautiful solar system with eight planets, and right as she was about to sign her name, she stepped on the third rail. All she remembers is the shock, and then falling forward into her painting. She did not hit the wall however, but simply passed right through and into The Medium, where she was discovered by Optix.

Skribl became one of the founding members of P.S.U.P, and is currently a Priestess and one of the organization’s most valuable assets. The voyage to Multerra altered her body and spirit, lending her surreal and powerful abilities, honed with Optix in The Medium. The spraycan that she took with her into The Medium functions as kind of magic wand for her, and she is discovering new uses for it every day.

Skribl is reckless, tough, rebellious, cynical, and beneath it all still a vulnerable young woman. She is passionate and a lover of freedom, often acting rashly and impulsively.

Skribl is currently in Eda Norna on a mission.

Abilities/Skills:

Quick [500]
Agility 1 (200)
Speed 1 (200)
--Ongoing (100)

Skribl is very quick, with amazing reflexes, agility, and speed.

Concealment 1 (100) (Visual)
Skribl can use her spraycan to coat herself in a kind of camouflage that makes her essentially invisible to the naked eye.

Slip [100]
Debuff 1 (100)
-- Affects Multiple (+50) Indiscriminate (-50)
Skribl can spray a large coating of slippery paint onto a floor or wall not exceeding 20 feet, causing targets to have trouble balancing or gripping. The paint is translucent, like oil.

Flamethrower [100]
Damage 1 (100)
Skribl can shoot a long jet of flame from her spray can that she wields like a whip. The flames are turquoise.

Life-Line [250]
Movement (Rope) (+200)
--Ranged (+50)
Skribl can manifest a long golden rope from her spray can. The end of the rope will stick to anything it touches, and Skribl can retract the rope at will.

Heidi
qf9iIP4.jpg

Heidi “Sunbeam” Henderson was a pretty, dreamy, hippie chick, content to spend the late 1960’s in a tie-dye microbus eating psychedelics and chasing her favorite bands around the United States. Her short but vibrant life on earth ended at Woodstock in 1969 when, high on experimental LSD engineered by the CIA, she stepped on a live wire as Jimmy Hendrix strummed his first chord. Her physical form was vaporized instantly, launching her astral form deep into the Medium of Multerra, where she was rescued by Optix.

Heidi’s psuedo-spiritual hippy ramblings had a strong effect on Optix, and it was Heidi who inspired the name Psychedelic Sunshine United Party, as well as many of the aesthetic trappings and philosophy of the group. Although the more cynical members of P.S.U.P., such as Skribl, may find her air-headed and insufferable, Optix looks to her as something of a spiritual adviser.

And a thug.

It is unknown at exactly what point Heidi snapped and began to indulge her cravings for ultraviolence. Perhaps the ditzy hippy had just never given violence a chance, but she took to it like a fish to water. Beneath her perky, bubbly exterior beats the heart of a warrior. In Heidi’s words she believes in “sunshine and rainbows and miniskirts, and killing anybody that stands against sunshine and rainbows and miniskirts”.

Today Heidi is a Priestess in service to Optix, and acts as a human wrecking ball for P.S.U.P., handling the jobs that require strength rather than finesse.

Heidi is friendly, perky, naive, ditzy, and a bit blood thirsty once you get to know her.

Effects
Minion [300]

Martial Arts [300]
Damage 3 (300)
Heidi is an amateur martial artist, her style consisting almost entirely of striking, appearing to be based on american kickboxing and muay-thai. Although she often tries to simply overpower her opponents with her immense power, she also is very agile and knows a host of techniques incorporating spins, flips, and other exotic moves.

Tough [400]
Protection 2 (200)
--Ongoing (200)
Heidi is tough, able to withstand heavy blows.

Skillfull [200]
Agility 1 [200]
Heidi is quick and nimble, able to do flips and cartwheels (she loves doing cartwheels), with the reflexes of a martial artist.

Machine Pistols [100]
Damage 1 (100)
--Ranged (50)
--Removable (-50)
Heidi wields dual pink machine pistols that never seem to run short on ammo. They are not as powerful as some guns in the Crossroads, nor as accurate, but Heidi takes great delight in simply holding down the triggers and spraying bullets in the general direction of her enemies. They shoot about 950 rounds per minute. Heidi has to ‘reload’ her pistols after a minute of shooting, though she seems to produce ammo from nowhere. The reload time is a few seconds. If Heidi loses one of her guns, her rate of fire is cut in half, and because she wields one in each hand it is twice as easy to disarm her of either gun.

Rocket Launcher [150]
Damage 3 (300)
-- Ranged (150)
--Affects Multiple (150)
--Indiscriminate (-150)
--Finite (-150)
--Removable (-150)
Heidi’s favorite weapon is a one-handed rocket launcher. The weapon itself is painted rainbow, and the rockets she launches are bright pink and explode with glitter on contact. The explosion is a twenty-sphere, causing concussive damage to anyone in the radius. After firing a rocket, the launcher is too hot to use for a while (at least one scene).
