Pacifism is a great storytelling element and I'm happy to say one of my longest lasting characters actually maintained a "true-pacifistic" quality. 6 years of the second highest rank in the game/rp. For reference, you have the Adventurers > Elites > Ascended > Deific as the tier system, and they revolve around a character's KDR and combat skills.

My win/loss/draw ratio was 3/76/235, and Combat skills were around a combined 20th level, which is pretty low. I should have been Elite level simply for character age, but no higher. The thing is, with all combat skills being in speed, healing, stamina and durability (effectively Protection), he was a bit hard to take down and it became a war of attrition. MEanwhile, he is trying to talk his opponent out of fighting. The talks usually went well (most of the draws being a result) and he'd make friends along the way. Temporary for some, long-lasting for others.

He ranked up to Ascended simply because all those people, good and evil alike, vouched for him at a special event. The maxed out Speach skill (maxing is level 100), Diplomacy skill, and over a hundred draws were added to his wins so he could become one of the Ascended.

While this system does not have ranks in that manner, it goes to show that true pacifism can yield results sometimes far better than the "Gray-area" pacifism or common combatant. The other "pacifists" of the site usually hung around the Elite area, or gained Ascended status through absolutely crippling foes (IE basically regular combat without damage dealing or opponent death.) They would have to fight to keep their status (gotta keep that KDR up.) Meanwhile, my boi got the Lore to add mutual draws to his list of Wins to keep his ascension. HAd the site not gone down permanently in 2012, he'd probably be Deific by now.

TLDR: Became a demigod by the power of friendship.
