Grundy is a Brooding Punisher.
Brooding - Solomon Grundy's personality may change drastically from resurrection to resurrection, but there is always the constant of the monster needing a lair. He oftens spends lots of time alone, thinking simple thoughts in circuitous ways. Sometimes there is pain and torment from being undead, but more often that not he simply contemplates.
Punisher - Grundy is a massively strong and durable being, and indeed his body bears the slings and arrows of those who have tried to end him before. He is sometimes slow to anger but the best way to enrage him is to attack him. He usually shrugs off the first blow and reacts with unrelenting violence until the target of his ire stops moving.

The stories around the reason for Solomon Grundy's existence vary, but share some commonalities. About the only truth that can be gleaned from history is that a wealthy merchant named Cyrus Gold had been murdered and thrown into Slaughter Swamp to rot. Over the years, his body merged with the plant matter and magic of the swamp, eventually giving life to the hulking Grundy. He has faced off against many heroes and villains, and even allied with some to accomplished a shared goal, but he will always rise again. Now, Slaughter Swamp has manifested in the Uncanny Valley and Grundy lives once more in the Crossroads.
