Physical Description:

Optix manifests as a beautiful, translucent woman. Her hair and clothes are often flowing gently, as if unaffected by gravity. The most noticeable feature of her appearance is a pair of sunglasses with magic lenses. These lenses often project psychedelic rainbow lights, but sometimes flash pictures or visions.

Character History:

Optix is the echo of a powerful burst of psychic energy given life and sentience under the strange laws of The Medium. She sprang fully-formed into the dreamscape, imbued with passion and purpose and a love of all living things. When she first manifested, Optix spent much of her time trying to make sense of the nonsensical Medium. She began by exploring, finding dreamscapes and magical tomes and artifacts, and eventually other sentient life. She met dreamers, dreams, nightmares, hackers, viruses, meditating monks, ghosts, acid tripping hippies, inter-dimensional arms dealers, schizophrenic sorcerers, and stranger things besides. She became an experienced traveler and resident of the strange world, and began helping others traverse and survive The Medium, which led her to earn some unwanted attention from the darker residents of The Medium. For safety and to continue her mission, Optix recruited a number of friends to join her organization, the Psychedelic Sunshine United Party.


The Psychedelic Sunshine United Party (or P.S.U.P) is a clandestine group of like-minded oneironauts who protect innocent travelers and residents of The Medium from harm and tyranny, although their influence and operations seem to extend to all of Multerra. They have operatives on some of the 8 worlds, but nobody is sure how many. They are small, but nobody is sure how small. They have been called heroes and terrorists, dreams and nightmares, but there is no argument that the P.S.U.P. has taken significant steps in furthering their goals...whatever they may be. Their operations seem strange at times, often nonsensical, sometimes appearing to be no more than childish pranks. Their movements are almost exclusively controlled by Optix. The High Priestess of the Psychedelic Sunshine United Party rules not through fear or discipline, but through respect, trust, and a history of results.

These days Optix spends most of her time hiding in the Medium, acting through her proxies.

DESCRIPTION:

Skribl is a graffiti artist from Chicago who ate too much acid on night and went spray painting in the subways beneath the city. She painted a mural of a beautiful solar system with eight planets, and right as she was about to sign her name, she stepped on the third rail. All she remembers is the shock, and then falling forward into her painting. She did not hit the wall however, but simply passed right through and into The Medium, where she was discovered by Optix.

Skribl became one of the founding members of P.S.U.P, and is currently a Priestess and one of the organization’s most valuable assets. The voyage to Multerra altered her body and spirit, lending her surreal and powerful abilities, honed with Optix in The Medium. The spraycan that she took with her into The Medium functions as kind of magic wand for her, and she is discovering new uses for it every day.

Skribl is reckless, tough, rebellious, cynical, and beneath it all still a vulnerable young woman. She is passionate and a lover of freedom, often acting rashly and impulsively.

Skribl is currently in Eda Norna on a mission.

Skribl can use her spraycan to coat herself in a kind of camouflage that makes her essentially invisible to the naked eye.

Skribl can spray a large coating of slippery paint onto a floor or wall not exceeding 20 feet, causing targets to have trouble balancing or gripping. The paint is translucent, like oil.


Flamethrower [100]

Skribl can shoot a long jet of flame from her spray can that she wields like a whip. The flames are turquoise.


Life-Line [250]
Movement (Rope) (+200)

Skribl can manifest a long golden rope from her spray can. The end of the rope will stick to anything it touches, and Skribl can retract the rope at will.

Nice to have you back, Luci, and the new character looks sweet.
Before we approve it, there are just some things I'd like to go over:


• Starting Location
You've put Erde Nona, but from the description it sounds like Optix herself lives in the Medium, so I just want to double check that she herself will definitely be starting on Erde. You can have her Summon start on another world from her, by the way, so it wouldn't be a problem if you wanted Optix to begin in the Medium.
I'd recommend picking up the Free Transit Perk at some point, though, since it seems like your characters will likely be wanting to visit there often.


• Glasses
These might be magical glasses that can never be removed from her person, or you might just have not considered adding any Modifiers to this Ability. I just thought I'd check, since the description doesn't mention them being glued to her face. If you'd like to add a Removable Modifier, you can save 50 Essence on this Ability.


• Skribl
This isn't really how a Summon Ability should be laid out:

Modifiers: Ranged 1 (+50)

You only list the things that happen when the character is summoned... so for example, an Ability with Ranged Damage & Summon would be throwing a fireball which burned its target and also summoned a fire elemental upon impact.

The prices of a Summon's Abilities are listed separately, just as they would be with your character's Abilities. We only ask that you make it clear in some way on your profile which Abilities belong to the Summon. For example, Sigmund Vrell has done this by putting all the information on each of his Summons in a separate spoiler tag.


• Passive Abilities
Agility is indeed one of the Effects that does not require the Ongoing Modifier in order to be ongoing. Speed is not, however. Without that, your character will be unable to run for more than a few seconds before having to stop to take a breather.
Also, even if the Effects are passive, they still need to be included in a named Ability.

For example, I might write Skribl's Agility & Speed as:

Agility 1 (200)
Speed 1 (200)
--Ongoing (100)

Skribl is fit and healthy, so she can run fast and be agile.

Yeah, that's not much of a description, but I'm being brief here. Also, take note of the format I used for that Ability. That is how we recommend formatting these, as it is cleaner and simpler, as well as taking up less space.


• Hide
I'd imagine you might want to get Ongoing for this as well. You don't need to do so straight away, but just keep in mind that without it, Skribl can only conceal herself for a few seconds, tops.


• Formatting
I've already mentioned our recommended format above (with the '--' indicating a Modifier of the Effect above it). Even if you'd not like to use it, though, you will still need to change this:

Stick

Currently, you have listed Modifiers (AM & Indiscriminate) as if they were Effects.
Also, once again, you should be aware that without Ongoing, the Effects of the quoted Abilities won't last more than a few seconds. You haven't mentioned this at all in your descriptions, so I'm not sure if you realise it or not.


• Life-Line
The Movement Effect is supposed to specify in the Effects list what type of Movement it is, so if you could write it as something like "Movement (Sticky Rope)" or "Movement: Sticky Rope" then that'd be great.

Ok, I think I cleaned things up. The rules DO ask that the characters starts out 'on one of the eight worlds' but if it is ok then I will have Optix start in The Medium.

I'm fine with you starting in the Medium, personally.

EDIT by Beatrix: You can start in the Medium. That's fine.

Other than that this looks fine (besides another reminder that Skribl's hide ability only lasts a few seconds so be aware of that, and a note to make which abilities belong to the summon clear on your permanent profile - you can just indent them, if you prefer). Approved.
