The air was thick with tension as the young lad ascended the stairway. Far above, the ominous notes of a grand organ reverberated down the stairwell, setting the mood for his upcoming battle. Below, a kingdom lay in ruin, beset for many long years by the tyrant who had ravaged it.

But, soon, it would end. The boy would strike down this villain and once more bring peace to the land. His step quickened, and now he nearly sprinted up the stairs towards his destination. At the summit of his climb, a large door stood as the final barrier to his epic struggle. As grand as it was, the music beyond nearly shook it from its frame, and set the lad's teeth to rattling.

This was it. His last chance to turn back from this trial. Beyond this point, a being of unimaginable power waited, and the boy knew that his chances of victory were slim. And, yet, he also knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he would enter that room and face this evil. It was his destiny to do so. And a true hero never-

With a surprising suddenly, the door to Ganondorf's cottage swung open, nearly cracking young Ethan in his nose and shaking his free of his imaginative playtime. With a warm smile, the gentle giant the town had come to know as "Big G" took a step towards the boy and laughed with deep, hearty sound.

"Playing hero and villain again, are we?"

Looking towards the swiftly darkening sky, Ganondorf sighed and patted the lad on the head.

"I'm afraid it's a bit too late to play today, boy," he continued, though his face sank in sympathy at the look of disappointment on Ethan's face. "Perhaps tomorrow."

Carefully, the large Gerudo knelt beside the boy, leaning in close as though to bestow upon him some incredible secret. "And, if your mother tells me you were good, perhaps I'll also have another toy for you."

Ethan's face lit up with the most heart-warming smile Ganondorf had ever encountered and he hurriedly asked, "And a story too?!"

Chuckling again, Big G stood up and nodded.

"Aye. I'll let you know all about it, just like always."

And with that, the boy was off like a rocket, rushing home so as to remain in his mother's good graces. For awhile, Ganondorf watched him go, until he finally stepped back inside his home.

Upon the table near the doorway, the aforementioned toy sat in a nearly complete form, with just a bit of painting left. Across the room, Ganon's freshly made dinner steamed upon his dining room table. It wasn't even a question which would come first. The Gerudo had always enjoyed a good, cool dinner on a hot summer night anyway.
