The city was a bustling place, the feel of and sound of many beings walking and talking, moving and working, it was a slight comfort, but still much removed from the Feel of the colony from which she had been forced to flee, she had slipped through the city, at night at all times, exploring and seeing what was here, taking food from storages and the like, only as much as she needed no more no less.

The place was inhabited by Sharp ears, Plains, Hairs, Hair foots, and weirdos but no Greens it would seem, all races that had chased her out of her colony, so she wasn't about to go out in the day, Thankfully those races seemed to not have the means to detect her as easily as she could detect them, she wasn't the best at sneaking, but being able to climb buildings and feel the presence and movement direction of the residence of the city made it easier to get around them.

Thankfully her small thefts of food went unnoticed, so far anyway, last thing she needed though was to be hunted down in the city for stealing food, she would need to find a means of income, as well as a place to sleep, the last few nights she had been sleeping in rubish heaps to hide herself or in dark small places that were hard for the people living here to even reach in the ruins.

Now she was wandering around at night looking for information to figure out where she could find a place to stay or ways to make money, she didn't want to keep having to steal, she had skills she could use but they all required tools, other then mining or farming but this place didn't seem to do much of ether of those, in the end she would have to figure out how this place worked, and if she would be accepted here, by the looks of things she wasn't in the same lands she had been in before, the forest was different.

She continued walking down the streets, eavesdropping on what conversations she happened upon to see if anything was said about the workings of the city, as far as she could tell rather then farming or something like that the city seemed to sustain itself with only hunting judging by all the talk she heard about hunters and the like, it seemed strange to only sustain a city like this on just hunting alone.

After listening she heard that one needed a license to hunt, but she honestly didn't know how that could help her so she continued to search around, as well as looking for a place to get some food from. So changing her focus she slipped along the walls and rooftops of the ruins that the city was built inside of to sneak about and slowly she worked her way down to the street where she knew a good amount of food places were.

For now she would need to steal just a bit of food once more, it wasn't something she wanted to do, but she needed to eat, and that meant she needed to steal at the moment, as she doubted any of the races here would see her any differently then the races that attacked her home.

Nola continued to search around the shops area, sometimes she found some food around here, and some was even left in containers with refuse for some reason, and as she scavenged for what food she could find. enjoying some tossed out unfinished ribs, and other such things, honestly as she sat there eating in the dark, her antenna twitching and keeping the pressure around her monitored for any of the what she assumed was guards that walked around.

this....open air Colony, was strange, the other races were as well, she learned about them but had never seen them, even when the colony was attacked, she hadn't seen any of the attackers, but she had heard of them, and all these races all were different how did they get anything done? Then again this city seemed to lack the efficiency of the colony.

As she sat there nibbling on what seemed to be a very sweet piece of baked good, and she looked at some of the ruins and started to wonder if she could build her own colony anywhere in this area? would her colony be attacked like her old colony had been? would the people here see her as a pest like the people that lived near her old colony had seen her kind?

It was all very strange, she didn't even know how she got here, last she remembered sleeping in safe spot she found in the forest she had been running through, but then she woke up in some nook in the city, had she hibernated and hadn't been disturbed for a long time? That made no sense her kind didn't hibernate, she would have to figure this all out, but for now she needed to at least get her feet under her, and that required knowledge...but first food.

Today seemed like an amazing day for work and business, at least for everyone around him, after making a bit of money thanks to some help from a friend he wished to improve his over all business and try to earn more silver. Surely he didn't need a lot, but a sizable amount would make him feel that much more established here, and who knows, maybe one day he could set up his own guild like place, getting missions done by hunters, adventurers, and workers alike.

Walking down the streets though, he seemed to be carrying in a bag that had a box of sweet smelling donuts, and a few dozen lollipops too. He had struck a deal with some of the palicos in the area, basically short statured cat people, to sell them his silver-vine lollipops. The little lollipops were seemingly so addictive that they bought them every day, luckily with not too much of a downside to them, besides being distracted and spacing out for a couple minutes.

Of course he wouldn't sell some form of potent drug to them if it was obviously bad for their health. Yet, with out any hesitation in his over all plans he would move from vender to vender, offering his goods to those who had ordered them or wished to buy them. He even managed to sell his cheese cakes off to the clients that wished to buy them, which he was just finishing up the transaction.

"Thank you for placing your order with me, as promised we always deliver the next day. If you would like more please don't hesitate to come by the shop again to get more." Ricter said with a small bow, smiling before waving to the woman who would go back into her home. As he began to walk away the weasel perked up as he noticed something around the corner.

Rummaging through the alley ways as it seemed to be looking for food, it was a tad dark and hard to see for him but he could guess it might be a cat, or maybe some canine who could be starving. So with out any wish to leave a creature starving he would take out one of his special donuts, of the healing kind, waving it in front of him as he spoke up.

"Here, come out please, I have something nice for you to eat." Ricters offer seemed genuine, the stoat being more than happy to offer things to his animal brothers and sisters.

Kokonoe of course traveled right by her weasel friend, sucking on her signature lollipop. Her hands resting behind her heads as she looked up and basically ignored everyone, only listening in to conversation. Ricter thought it'd be good for her to walk out and meet people for once and perhaps break her anti-social tendencies. Her snide attitude of course showed more in public, "You do this daily... Seems suckish in this heat. I couldn't imagine how hot you are under all that fur..."

She complained a good bit, mostly to hide her real mood. She seemed to hide her emotions under crude manners, a foul mouth, and sarcasm... Though people got the picture rather easily as her actions of kindness didn't match her attitude... She acted annoyed as she helped with mundane tasks while Ricter sold his goods, "People here always need things moved... Hmph. How's selling goods going?" She'd ask looking down to her friend, her lollipop was still in her mouth so she wasn't annoyed at all... Otherwise she'd be ranting like an angry sailor.

Kokonoe of course stopped as Ricter did confused as to why he paused near a corner, "Huh...? What is it?" She asked, not really caring about it, she was expecting something that wasn't dangerous in town... but part of her was still on edge like any cat... She stood at five foot one inch compared to Ricter's short stature. Her spectacles over her sharp golden eyes, her pink hair full of volume and well kept. Her ears were hidden in her hair due, since her hair had an ear shape which masked her small almost white pink curved ears.

"Ricter, are you talking to alley cats?" She'd ask looking down at him, wondering if he was trying to gain a cat army with his lollipops as she let her imagination take hold.

As she rummaged around She took the time to groom herself, being an insect race of course she started to use her mouth to clean her carapace, it was soft to the touch yes but it still needed to be cleaned properly, and so she sat for a moment to clean her arms and antenna, her feet could wait for the time being, since she would still need to walk around and while searching, but cleaning her arms, the parts of her that would be touching her food, needed to be done as often as possible.

As she cleaned one she would continue searching the refuse in the area with the other three, switching them as she searched, she wasn't worried about being caught by surprise as Nola could easily sense something coming her way with her antenna, and as she continued to clean her arms one at a time and search for food that may have been tossed away her antenna twitched, something was coming.

She continued her search as the thing she was sensing rather small, only a bit taller then her but not to wide, so it wasn't a hairy, and it was to thin to be a hair foot, it could have been a weirdo but it wasn't moving as frantically as one tended to, at least from what she was told anyway, and from what she had seen and felt around this city.

However not to far behind it was what seemed to be a Plain, though it was different, it had a set of extra appendages, tails? Maybe....But they where coming closer now and she could hear them talking, one stopped at the edge of the alley she was rummaging in, the night keeping her hidden thankfully, this is why she kept off what looked like the main paths, they had some form of illumination, in the side paths it seemed this wasn't the case and as the shorter one spoke Nola got a good look at it, and then the taller one that poked it's head around the corner as well.

She hadn't seen a creature like the tall one before, however she had seen something a bit like the one that was talking to her directly and apparently offering her food, she had a plushy that had looked something like it, and had been told they were gentle creatures, she had named her plushy, and as she looked at the small fuzzy one she moved a bit closer, though she stayed in the shadows.

She said nothing but he sounded genuine, and if he was like the things she had a plushy of then he was probably gentle....but the tall one was a worry...but..she studied her from the shadows, she might not be that much of an issue...she didn't look like a warrior, no armor, but...if it did come to a fight she could at least escape...maybe...

With that thought she finally decided to move closer, stepping slowly out of the shadows, her steel blue Carapace catching the light, and the dark gold markings being highlighted even more by the lights in the main path, her face had very gentle features and she was quite short, shorter even then the fuzzy one, she stepped out and gently took the donut with one of her four clawed hands "Thank you..." she said quietly as she didn't want to alert others that she was here, her solid multifaceted eyes made it hard to tell exactly where she was looking, with a nod she gently took a bite of the donut and she felt some of the strain in her body fade, strain from running before ending up in this place, and then the strain of having to scavenge for the smallest scraps of food.

She ate quickly looking at the two, her antenna twitching as she finished the food and looked at the fuzzy one once more then to the larger one, "You...don't see me as a pest?" she asked more to see if she was safe around them, then anything else.

Watching and waiting, he wondered if the creature would come out, maybe they were just scared of his presence, that or untrusting of strangers. Both seemed plausible, but the shadow seemed small, walking closer before Ricter would finally get a glimpse of what they seemed like in the light. She seemed like an ant person, short like himself but even shorter in how they looked, additionally it looked like they resembled a full on insect in every way imaginable.

From the abdomen, eyes, arms, and just body in general. It was surprising but wouldn't make Ricter think other wise, especially after she gave him a heart felt thank you for offering such a thing to her. "Its no problem, you look like you could use something to eat and not just left overs that people tossed away." Being as optimistic as he always is, and nice, he inspected her to see if the donut had any effect on her body.

Sure enough it seemed to make any scuffs, or damage, even nutritional in nature, seemingly vanish away like it never was apparent in the first place. As she asked her next question though he would wonder why she stated this, but of course given how she looked he could guess some may think of her as some form of pest.

"No? Why would I?"

He asked back, clearly guessing it was because others had seen her as such, so this was why she asked, yet he would answer back for her as he looked around, "Do you have any family around? Its not good to be around here alone, especially with out supervision." Given her size he expected her to be a child, and almost felt bad for her if she was indeed alone.

The ineraction with Nola was starting to make him wonder if he should allow her to come stay in his little bakery with himself and Kokonoe, he did have to expand and get more space for the building so maybe this would make for a good excuse. But before he would jump to that he at least wanted to know the girls name, and would even offer his paw out to her to shake as he stated.

"I'm Ricter, its nice to meet you."

Kokonoe's cat-like eyes allowed her to pierce through the darkness, her golden eyes almost glowed as she focused her eyes on the insectoid creature... A term she was using in her head because there was no word for a humanoid insect on her mind... so she combined them to understand the situation. Her lollipop stick moved a bit as she scanned the creature, "I take back the alley cat comment." She walked around the corner and sat down... two tails waves around freely. She was calculating, scanning... Perceptive... "You seem like you'd live in a group going by features alone... also I don't see why you'd be considered a pest... Seem pretty kind to me." She was well versed in biology, to Kokonoe it seemed as if she should be part of a colony or hive not that she knew entirely of insects from another universe.

"New in town I'd guess? I am to, Kokonoe, nice to meet'cha." She tone and face hardly changed in the slightest, she was intense but her movements were relaxed and calm. She seemed just to have that resting face that always made her look ticked off, much like some cat breeds. Fitting, because she was half beastman, specifically of the cat-like Kaka clan. "Most people don't bite in the city, it's outside it... Ricter... most people in this area seem pretty chilled out." She looked around the alley as they spoke, secretly she was wondering if someone left scrap metal around.

"Excuse me you two, I want to see if there is any scrap metal as you two talk. Tell me before you go Ricter." She put on gloves and started to rummage getting metals to reuse as the conversation went on. She was cheap, but reusing resources was just the best way to maximize not running dry of them. That and is saved her money, and nothing made her more happy[Other than sweets and junk food] than saving money. Funnily enough she had a bag for gathering scrap to melt down and re-purpose. She would of course make sure not to cut herself, otherwise she'd be scolded by her fluffy weasel friend and partner.

The two that had stumbled upon her had apparently no ill will against her, and as she looked to the small fuzzy one her antenna twitching, the other seemed to ask questions, well they both did, but the tall one seemed to be more stating things then asking outright questions, though she did inform her that others didn't bite in the city and that was good to know, though the weapons they carried were probably because they couldn't bite.

Looking to the one apparently named Ricter she listened to his question, and she was going to answer, though the one apparently named Kokonoe then excused herself and started to look for metals, making her look to her a moment before looking back to the one named Ricter she checked her Hive mind connection once more reaching out to see if she could contact another of her kind, but nothing came, nothing was there to connect to, and she seemed to slump a bit as she looked at the ground "my...family is dead..." she said simply as she continued to reach out pressing her conection as far as she could, but she could find nothing, "I'm...alone.." she said sadly.

"Yes I am new here..." she answered the question the one named Kokonoe asked, then she looked back at Ricter a moment "my name is Nola Teb...just Nola now..." she said correcting herself, she wasn't a part of the old colony anymore, her sisters must have been found and killed as well as her entire colony wiped out if she could not connect to any of them at all, she was completely alone.

She looked up at Ricter the thought of being alone was...scary, the colony had always been there, always been active, always something being done someone to talk to, only now the pain no longer distracting her and the need to find food to keep herself alive gone for now, it all hit her, what had happened, the fact that she was alone, not one of her own kind even alive, had they killed them all? Was it all Colonies that got attacked? she didn't know.

thinking like this and the stress and the situation she was actually in all started to press in on her, and some tears started to run down her cheeks, "help...me.." she said in a sad tone as she was trying to hold herself together from breaking down entirely "I'm...alone...they....killed them all...." she whimpered as it was all flooding back, the gravity of it all now able to fully crush in on her thoughts, she was shaking.

She shouldn't be shaking...she was trained as a warrior...but...she was trained to fight in a group...she was trained to be part of a group...even when she was meant to head out it wasn't meant to be totally alone was it? But now here she was, not just alone, she was the only one of her kind that she could tell.

She reached up and placed her hands to her face, her will breaking down as she stood there being helped and she couldn't help herself, she started outright crying "Please.....please help me..." she didn't want to be a burden but she was lost, she was alone, and she was scared...and she had run into people that seemed willing to actually help her..it was like finding a life raft in the middle of a stormy ocean, she wasn't to proud to admit she needed help..but she was scared they might not help her...one already seemed to not be to concerned about much of anything...for all she knew they might have been in a bad spot themselves what with the tall one searching for things in the refuse like she had been.

"Okay, will do." This was directed at Kokonoe as she walked away, going off to scavenge for metals and the like, which he had no trouble with, she had plans for that big ship of hers so he wouldn't stop her from trying to save a little money. Given he also was a business man he could see the merit in saving a few extra silver, though he knew full well she should be able to buy a lot of things given Kokonoe was mostly under his own employ and made a nice amount of money on occasion when he paid her.

However his eyes traced back to Nola as she explained that her family had been killed, all dead from some kind of hunt possibly. Making his expression sink into slight despair at hearing this, no person should have to go through something like that and sure enough he could see why. After she gave her name she seemed to break down, crying from being so alone and possibly being the only survivor of her clan or tribe of people.

Part of him wanted retribution for her, yet right now she seemed like she needed just help in general, as she repeated over and over again that she clearly needed assistance. So he would do just that. "Please don't cry, its okay." The weasel's aim was to make her feel less upset about her situation, and not so depressed, but that would take time and healing that he couldn't provide to the little ant girl.

So he would reach out, soon giving her a hug and picking her up, she was a little heavy for him but nothing he couldn't handle. Lifting her up into his arms he would press the girl into his fluffy body, she could hear the soft purrs he gave off, as well as his warmth and beating heart that thumped in a soothing manner.

"No more crying okay? If you need help your welcome to come stay in my bakery, its not much and might need to be worked on but its shelter. Plus if you don't mind helping around or working I can give you all the food you could eat, I even made the donut you just had. Dose that sound nice Nola?" Obviously it was a great deal for anyone who was homeless but even if she had felt reluctant to say yes he wouldn't put her down unless she asked.

Plus he was ready to just snatch her away and send her to his home, cutting his little vender run short but that was all fine in his book, specially if it meant that he could offer someone something they lost. In the mean time Kokonoe would probably be happy to find a few pieces of scrapped metals, aluminum, and coppers as Ricter and Nola talked and spoke with one another.

Kokonoe found all she could dream of, of course she heard the news and stopped. It only managed to remind her of her own predicament, she felt for the girl. She refused to show it, that was just the person she was. She stood paused for a moment pulled out what she'd found and then moved closer to rummage, she'd speak but something was heard in her voice that was off. A tinge of pain in her voice, "We weren't planning on leaving you if you needed help, trust me on that. ...I'm distant, but not cruel." At least she seemed aware of the fact she pushed her emotions aside because for the longest time they didn't matter, but she came back with a comment that wasn't expected, "You're also not alone with us around." She meant it genuinely, the three had one thing in common... Loss of people close to them which made the pink nekomata lady feel more than she'd ever admit to.

She had a feeling Ricter would call her out on it eventually with a sigh, she of course with her dirty hands couldn't reach for a lollipop. In that moment she acted as if she was kicking it out of her sleeves... It managed to land in Ricter's fur, it was a fake excuse that came next, "Oops... looks like I dropped it... Well it's close to you Nola, do with it as you will." It was corny fake sarcasm, easily seen through as she just was awkward and anti-social. She kept digging but it was noticeably slower and less noisy, she didn't want to disturb Nola more by accident... Pulling out metallic objects left and right so she could fix that accursed sink.

"Also... what do you like to eat, Nola?" She said, having not bought anything since her last payment. She had a special dinner last night, so she thought it was fair to run to the market and buy what Nola liked for tonight if possible. Her golden gaze met Nola's face, it wasn't as stern. Concern was in her face as amazing as it was, there was barely a change. It also showed so basically had a new lollipop already which further showed her fake accident. Kokonoe gaze Ricter a glance, assuming that he knew why she was talking about food. It was close to dinner time, after all.

Nola stood there crying as the fuzzy one started to talk to her in a gentle tone, and then suddenly she was in a sea of soft fluffiness, and he was gently holding her off the ground, and hugging her, and she pressed into him as he held her close and she just let out all her pent up fear and sadness, crying into his fur as she clung to him.

He was making an odd sound, it was comforting, and he felt so soft, just like her plushy, and there was the warmth and the sound of a heartbeat, sounds she thought she wouldn't hear again other then her own, and she held on even tighter, not enough to be painful or uncomfortable, but it was clear she was scared that it might just suddenly stop or that she was scared she would be pushed away.

She was then offered a place to stay, an offer of food, though she was told she would have to work, she would have worked anyway, she had no other means to repay the kindness, and when he asked if this sounded nice she nodded "yes....thank you.." she said as she simply held onto him, she didn't want to let go at the moment, and honestly it probably would have been impossible to remove her by force.

Though then she felt something coming towards her and the fuzzy one, and then an impact near her, and she looked up at something that smelled incredibly sweet, and she was told she could do with it what she wanted, she looked to the half-plain, then to the sweet thing, and she couldn't tell if it was an accident or not, was she being treated like she was some....pest? she didn't know, the way the taller one acted towards her made it seem like she didn't want her around.

Due to the type of environment that was the colony, She had never come in contact with Sarcasm, she couldn't tell it was that, or even what it was, and it was confusing to her, she was acting like she was a nuisance, though she had earlier said she was not alone with them around, it was very confusing for her but she didn't have much time to think as she was then asked what she liked to eat.

Honestly she didn't have a favorite food, Though she needed meat she could tell that much, sugar was another thing she would need soon, both were hard to find in the refuse, she tended to find plant matter more then anything else, "Meat...and sugar.." she said as she continued to cling to Ricter, hugging him once more and starting to relax, the fatigue starting to settle in now that she had managed to let out all that built up stress, she wasn't fine, but at least now she felt...at least safe "Thank you Mister squishy..." she said Calling Ricter the name of her plushy that he looked like, causing her to hide her face after realize what she had done.

The weasel could see what Kokonoe was trying to do, aiming to show some kind of nice gesture toward the girl even though her attitude and actions displayed something else. He could tell she was trying, and that alone made him proud of her attempt at being nicer to the crying ant girl that was in his arms, either way he would no sooner move the sucker from his fur and gesture for Nola to eat it.

Yet, Ricter perked up when she called him a peculiar nickname that he had never heard before, "Mr. Squishy?" Ricter repeated as she hid her face away from him again, nearly scratching his head at this but he wouldn't elaborate on it further. The nickname wasn't offensive, and honestly she felt more squishy than himself but her armored shell might be far more durable than what his own body could take.

"Alright, I think I'm going to take her home for now, we can probably go back to shopping once I get her settled in, are you coming with Kokonoe?" He would ask, already beginning to walk slowly in the direction of home as he had no interest in letting her stay outside. Which reminded him, "We have meat and what not at home, sweets are a given too, we won't have to pick up much but we can get on with the rest of the choirs once were done."

It sounded like a good plan, which he was fairly keen when it came to managing his personal time, yet his focus was firstly to get her accustomed to where she would be staying like he had for Kokonoe who, funny enough, appeared out of no where only feet away from his own home. Beginning the walk back it was short, they were still in the market district of the town and not too far away from one of the gates and the port section too.

Along the way, if she cared to look around, she would see many of the shops, stores, and any other places you can imagine that would allow you to buy things if you had the coin. Hunters would be in long lines to see blacksmiths around the market, while cheering could be heard from one of the open air cooking stands as a party just got back from a successful excursion out in the fields.

The climate here was lively, and he could tell it was because of how the city operated, for the capture of hunting of monsters, which worried him more that they could have caused this little girl to be orphaned. Once they had walked far enough they would come to a small building, it was made of brick and had a window to show the inside, on the front there was a sign saying "Ricters Bakery and General Goods."

After all he didn't sell just baked goods, he also had seasonings for certain dishes and candy too. On entering the establishment they would walk past two tables with chairs and go up to the counter, which he walked through the side with the swinging door, "Welcome to your new home Nola, I hope you like it here." As she was introduced to the space it smelt wonderful, like cinnamon buns were baking in the oven, not only this but the back room seemed to show a few areas.

One was the kitchen, a small space to work in that consisted of one oven, some counter tops, and a fridge in the back. The side room seemed to be a personal room, housing Ricter and his things, while another back room was for storage, mostly for ingredients and what not, it was rather dark here and very bland. However there seemed to be a tunnel leading towards what seemed like Kokonoe's little section, it would lead to her ship, which was parked above his home on the roof.

"I know this place is small but its kinda all I have right now, I can understand if you'd maybe want more in the future, which is why if you'd like to work in my bakery I'd be more than happy to pay you for your services. Who knows, maybe you can make your colony again." Ricter suggested as he carried her around still, allowing her to enjoy being held for a while as he showed her each and every room, giving a small tour after giving his offer in a more detailed manner.

Kokonoe nodded, "Yeah, that's for the best. I'd rather help her settle in over deal with this anyway... I think I got enough metals to make a telepad from. Also the lollipop is full of sugar, so you can have that to help you out. I don't mind carrying you back but passing out from malnourishment isn't healthy. Gladly you found us at the best time for what you need so we don't have to keep you waiting." She still had a concerned look, barely but there was also a slight smirk. The thought the nickname was cute. She began to walk next to the two, relaxed yet confident steps. Her cat like eyes were darting around... She showed signs of trust issues, that and she would rip someone apart with a rant of a life time for the first person that talked crap about Nola. She couldn't help being protective, not after she'd lost her own family.

She continued down the road listening in but watching for dangers as her open shoes clacked, eventually they stopped clacking as she took them off, "I always hated shoes... You two are lucky, I'd totally wear just a really long hoodie down to my knees if I could." She heard the celebrations going as she walked, a successful hunt much like yesterday when they had sold the mass quantity of meat away. "That'll be normal, I hope you don't mind Nola. The city here is all about hunting as this place is mostly wilderness... There is hardly any civilization and most creatures want to feed, so this place is basically a safe haven where everyone helps each other by trade for the most part. Do you have any special needs by the by? If you do I'll have to build a contraption for it."

She finished as they walked up to Ricter's bakery, Kokonoe's lab was seen connected by a tunnel. It looked like it could float away. The general look of the metallic building looked surreal, it didn't fit the rest of the buildings in the town at all. It had a sign of sorts... A painting of Ricter and herself which she paid to be done so they could advertise. "Welcome, and jeez the baked goods smell great Ricter... you out did yourself today." She spoke following Nola and Ricter inside, closing the door softly as no one liked to hear loud noises. She stretched out and sat down in her chair and rolled it around behind them slowly as if it was a scooter, "So what do you like in a place or to do for fun? I like to tinker with machinery and junk." She'd ask purely at random, seemed she liked to act way younger than she looked. She had some issues in her lack of attention span and over thinking, so despite being a genius she never grew up completely. She just had more time to get that out of her system instead of being stressed all the time.

Nola was thoroughly embarrassed with that slip of the tongue haivng called Ricter Mister Squishy, but as she continued to cling to him the more he seemed like her old plushy, he was soft and warm and as he handed her the thing that the tall one called a lollipop and mentioned it was sugar she nodded a bit and gently took it from Ricter popping it into her mouth and loud cracking could be heard, she seemed to have a normal mouth, but inside it there were two sets of mandibles rather then teeth that crunched and sliced the lollipop into pieces, her three tongues moving the bits around to be sliced and crushed by the mandibles, she even broke down the stick and ate that as well with how strong the muscles in her mouth and how sharp the mandibles were it was a easy as biting through the doughnut earlier.

As she was carried, she looked around at the things around, it was a nice looking place with the lights highlighting things now rather then her seeing it from the darkness, and as she looked at the decorations and the like her antenna twitched to the scents around, but then the loud cheering rang out and she suddenly curled up and tried to make herself look small in the arms of the Fuzzy one carrying her, cowering at the sound of the people shouting, it just made her remember the sounds she heard in the tunnels during the evacuation.

Though as the group walked by Nola could sense the pressure waves, some where looking at the group, tapping on others to point out the group, words were exchanged, she could feel the vibrations of people talking, she couldn't make out the words though, but they where trying to be quiet, she could tell that by the strength of the vibrations.

Though as they walked by the tall one informed her of the nature of the place, and then asked if she had special needs, thinking on that question she had to nod, "I..require Mana..." she said gently, as she continued to let her antenna twitch and feel the air as she looked aroun das well now that they were out of range of the group that had been talking about them. "I will also need...to make a Jelly maker..." she said as she considered how hard that would be to make, she would have to make it herself since she was the only one of her kind around anymore, but it would be easy to make provided she could get the meat together to start the process.

As they walked up to a small building she looked up at the sign and then to Ricter as they walked in and he welcomed her to the place, she looked around as Ricter carried her, and her antenna twitched picking up the scents of not just the food but of the two that had been living here, as well as picking up the pressure differences that gave her a good outline of the building. As she was shown around though the tall one would roll after them on a chair and ask her questions.

But it was the statement about rebuilding her colony that caught her attention, and she thought about that, as a high caste she could remake a whole colony, it was one of the reasons she was born really, but she was brought back by the questions the tall one asked and she looked at her "Umm..I like being around others....and...I usually work, but..I do like to farm...and sew...and make weapons and armor....and mine..and dig..I have lots of training in a lot of things..." she said as she looked at them both, honestly she figured it was the same for everyone "Do..don't you have the same trainings?" she asked honestly as she looked at them her antenna twitching about.

Though as she looked at them her antenna twitched even faster she could feel more things approching, a large number of them, and by the feel of a few they where the people from around the one place they walked by, with others with them, "T...they followed...." she said quietly..not aware that the other two couldn't feel pressure like she could.

Mana was something he could possibly provide, even though he had long since left his own world, it seemed that both magic and technology were vital parts of this universe. Which seemed to be what she would require as he believed Kokonoe could provide the same exact thing, she did after all work for a company that mixed magic with tech.

"Jelly maker? Uh I don't know what that is but if you need help I'm sure we can assist you, as or farming and what not I think you can buy up some land near the side of town which is near here, if not I think making some hydroponics basins would work too." He would guess she might not know what that was but he would elaborate soon enough.

"Basically indoor farms."

She sounded like she could do a lot and he honestly didn't know what to say or do for her, making armor, farming, in addition to a few other things like sewing only helped to establish the fact that he might need more room and space to have the things his friends desired. He didn't know if he could try moving out into the wilderness and establishing some small foothold, yet right now that seemed ill advised and maybe would work later on.

"Training? No not really, I'm only good at making food, and a bit of doctor work too. I can say I do know how to plant gardens and work with flowers." This was due to Kokonoe's assistance in gathering items from the field, with out her he would have probably been hurt or worse. Thinking further, if she could dig and or make tunnels he had a feeling she could just make a place to stay underground, so maybe worrying about accommodating her so much was just his own willingness to assist.

What came next though made him perk up, raising a brow as he asked, "Who's coming?" Ricter questioned as she pulled her head into his chest, this causing him to frown as he looked to Kokonoe. "Kokonoe, could you check outside for me?" He would ask as he moved towards the back room again. Yet this time instead of inspecting the dark closet he would grab what looked like a seed from a shelf and walk back out, heading towards the door to make sure no one was around.

"Mana and a Jelly Maker? Easy work, I'll be sure to put that on the to do list." She said writing that down anyway, "I was planning on lowering the electricity used by channeling a flow of mana through the circuits like I do for my lab... It'll save us money and be completely natural to the environment. I have a sort of generator in the landing pad already, which I thought would help out considerably around here... It'll use my mother's signature magical prowess on foods that need heat. In that sense mana can come directly through the food, it might even make your doughnuts more potent, Ricter." She seemed to be scribbling blue prints in a note pad, who was this women? She was no where near normal by any means.

She turned to Ricter, "You might be planning for indoor farms? Then I'll start drawing blue prints to incorporate them into our power saving... Mmmh... I'll add water saving to the house using the same system in that case. This way in a crisis we can have more options, sounds good, right?" She said turning the page and starting blueprints for that, too... switching between her ideas every five minutes or so... The drawings were decently made, not perfect by a long shot... but she had notes on components needed and all of the other complicated specifics... Even how to build it without tearing the entire house apart. She was a scientist, but definitely an innovative inventor at heart. Using the data she'd never been able to incorporate into her own world into Kraw.

"You do a lot... You must have work shifts like I used to, probably on less coffee, too... Do you know how hard it is to be a cat with no cat naps for like ten to fourteen hours... it's horrible. As for training, I generally train my intellect and magic... I do have combat training up close, but I'll be honest and say I haven't put it into practice until recently. It's a nice change of pace, though I really should do some more of my clan's martial arts... Magic and weaponry are only two means to attack after all. But outside of science and magic I generally have no experience." At least she was honest, that explained fully how she acted... She didn't really know how to, then again she interacted with few few people consistently in her past.

"Besides, I am Half-Beastman... in my world that wasn't accepted so I generally didn't really leave my lab willingly anyway. Ricter is good for helping, great with directions no matter how much I over complicate them, too. Due to that he's the person I generally spend my time with, first person I interacted with that wasn't robotic or family." She continued back to her blueprints until she glanced over to Nola... Her mannerisms showed she wanted to hide. Due to her biology studies she started looking around for a sign of danger.

She heard the words Nola spoke as her tiny ears twitched, she looked visibly annoyed. "Of course I would, my fluffy pal... If you hear yelling then you know why." She closed her book, putting it onto the chair with a soft audible slap. She walked into the main room, grabbing her megaphone off of the table before walking to the front door and opening it. She never answered the door, but she had a general idea of what to expect. If anyone was standing there, her foul mouth would be the first retort. "What the abstract HELL SPIKE! do you people want?" That would be her first words as the lollipop stick went upwards as her tongue shifted in her mouth... That meant one thing, she was going to rant... And her rants could last hours... and she would end up breaking someone with her words. "Well... You HAVE ten seconds seconds to answer, you're wasting time, which is a waste of money, which is a waste of air, which makes you all waste space." That would be her follow up to any people up front... of course if they tried to attack her in anyway... They were in for it.

Nola watched as the tall one talked and walked about apparently drawing up plans for things, Archatecture and construction were also things Nola was trained in during her time in the worker caste, she also knew how to make a Jelly maker, it was one of the first things she was taught to make when having to prepare food for the colony as a worker.

But at the moment all that was chased away with the arrival of the group of people that had come to the little home, and she was scared, there were a lot of them, and there was only her and the tall one and the small fuzzy one, she was ready to fight honestly but she found herself being carried to the back and left there while the other two got ready to apparently defend their home.

She watched them getting ready and move to the front, and she got a flash of memory from the attack on the colony. Was it all going to just happen again? Was this new home going to be attacked now? Was it her fault? her hands went to her head as she started to hear the sounds of battle from her memory, screams as she ran down the evacuation tunnel with her sisters... "No....no not again...not again..." she muttered to herself as she started to gently rock back and forth on the ground a more solid loking Carapace starting to grow on her body slowly.

Outside a group of hunters had followed the Ricter and Kokonoe, one of them was sure the thing they were carrying was some sort of insect, the museum payed well for new things like that, as did Newt, and none of the hunters had heard of the thing before. The group of them followed none of them really above simply taking it away from it's owners. They had assumed it was a baby of some larger creature, which would probably get them even more at ether place.

When the door opened they were about to say something, or at least the leader of the group was, but before she even could there was a catgirl yelling at her, and when she was about to speak she was then cut off once more. Finally though the catgirl shut up and the leading woman looked at her, she was quite large and carrying a huge hammer "We are here for the young insect....that thing could go for a fortune to Newt or Jones...look...we'll even give you guys a cut...what you say?" she smirked at her and it was rather obvious that the group of ten hunters were not pushovers, some wearing parts of some of the larger creatures.

Back inside Nola continued to mumble and the thicker armor looking Carapace continued to grow over her body, the color of this thicker Carapace seemed to have it's colors reversed, the highlights were in the same places, but they where now steel blue in color while the main parts of her Carapace was deep gold, making her look quite different, but also more bulky "Not again....not again......" she continued to mutter as the thicker carapace grew

While Kokonoe was no doubt giving the people outside a bit of a stern talking too, Ricter would place a planting pot on one of the tables, putting the seed inside of the soil then actually placing a glass topper over it. Which seemed odd but he needed it just for insurance, walking towards the door as the soil began to sprout readily he would glance back to Nola who seemed so worried.

But instead of worry he would give a soft smile and mouth the words, "Don't worry." Then he would leave outside into the open air, to which he would notice the large group of hunters, looking very beefy and a tad scary too. Not that they worried Ricter, he would simply smile to them all as they could just be potential customers, but wouldn't think other wise if they were bad.

Hearing them given an offer for the little bug girl they just collected he would inwardly frown to this, he couldn't give them her, plus by their explanation maybe this was why her family and friends were killed. "Sorry but I don't think we can, she's actually going to be working for me and as an employee she has rights under my establishment." He elaborated.

"So as her boss I can't trade her away for the possibility of money, but I'd be happy to offer you all any sorts of sweets or goods, besides my employee that is." Smiling ear to ear he gave off a friendly aura, but obviously he knew how to do business and knew what to say and or do. Being sure to not be rude but also not give much of a ground to the hunters as this was still a town, no matter how you dice it violence was not something he wanted to happen, nor would anyone else.

Mean while, the plant was beginning to bloom in its pot.

Kokonoe's face twisted into one of pure irritation, she popped the lollipop out of her mouth with her golden glare. The cat-like look in her eyes said it all, there was a rant coming as she swung her lollipop into the air as she spoke using it to point at the hunters... half of her body was concealed by the door but Ricter could see the same black orb charging in her palms as before. The pink haired neko was fully ready to kick through the door, which she could do... and toss one hell of an attack even knowing how dangerous the attack was... She started her rant in her snide calm tone.

"Okay, first off... I'm the scientist of the town, why would I trade findings that could benefit me... Two, I wouldn't hand over a sentient being into your greedy paws even for the hunter atmosphere of this town I plan to preserve as much as I can so knuckle heads won't kill the planet in less then fourty eight hours... Three, this is a bakery not a trade center.

Any questions so far? No? Good." She shut down any chance of them asking questions with her ruthless demeanor and continued, "However, if you want to order goods from Ricter's establishment do go over to the window to order, and unless you need an upgrade to your armor, weaponry, biology, or thought process... I won't be needed, she's a sentient life form... Not a play thing... Wait, did you do the same thing with my fluffy buddy over there, too? So what am I then..?" She grit her teeth with her tailed fluffed up, she was starting to make it into a personal insult. Her kind was discriminated against in her world, even as she pointed the silver-vine candy at the perpetrators she could feel her blood boiling hotter and hotter. It was like real fire could be felt as her mana started to heat up, Ricter now knew why her magic was mainly fire... She had plenty of built up rage to unleash.

"Of course, no matter what I say... you as hunters will go for the money first, am I right?" Her own ears twitched, having a plan for this moment... Though Ricter would probably stop her from doing the attack she was charging outside the view of the hunters. Of course she'd used the door for a shield and cover from view. None of them had seen her fight, of course... Kokonoe knew Ricter wasn't a fighter, meaning one thing... "You're probably planning to barge in while there is a large crowd, take what you think is your's because you deserve it, and then tie up loose ends to cover it all up." Kokonoe was of course an over thinker, the town knew that as well... So using it as her stalling tactic was perfect, no one would call her bluff... but she was calling their facade. No one walks up in a group like that after seeing a group walking by while talking as if they are friendly, then makes some type of proposal as if Nola was an object or negotiable at all. Kokonoe didn't need her eyes at this time of night, her night vision was great but her ears gave her a better advantage in combat for instances like this as such she kept her glare up.

For now... it was a stare down, as she stood behind the door.

Nola continued to hold her head and stayed curled up in the corner of the back room her armor continuing to grow as she could not only hear the conversation but now there was something inside that was building up even greater pressure, something that scared her even more. She was unfamiliar with what the tall one could do, all she knew was that there was a great deal of pressure building up and people where gathering at the front and now the back of the building.

She continued to sit there her armor growing fuller and fuller, scared of what was happening as she tried to think of what to do, and all she could think of doing was fighting, she didn't help her colony before, and now here she was hiding and being protected again and she was scared, she didn't want anything to happen to the nice people, but she was scared to fight.

Back at the front the woman only smiled as the two talked to them and then as the Woman with the megaphone continued to yell normally and as she started to assume to speak and seemingly guess at what there plan was, and she only nodded slowly, nd then the little fuzzy guy was trying to make a stand on his own about how she worked for him. "Well then that would be great...is she registered? also...we aren't going to force our way in, that wouldn't be the smartest thing" she said as she handled her hammer and looked the two over "Besides, we're only here to distract you while the other team breaks the back wall...." she said with a smirk.

the whole time in the back a smaller group was spending their time trying to figure out where they should go through, and as soon as they heard the others talking louder they had decided to start working at the wall.

Inside by this time Nola's defensive carapace had fully grown and she was trying to figure out why both had gone to the front, when there was a group in the back? couldn't they sense they were there? Then the people on the other side of the wall started to dig through on a section that lead to the wall and it started to dawn on her "T...they can't?....they can't sense?" she said as she looked to the back wall.

Then she made a choice, she stood up "YOU ARE NOT HURTING ANYONE!!!!!" she yelled suddenly, as she suddenly punched the back wall, digging through it and busting through, causing the hunters to actually scream from the sudden attack and one was knocked out from a straight shot to the groin as they were face to face with the small heavily armored female "GO AWAY!!" she said with a insectile like Keening sound escaping from her rather then a roar as some backed of and she picked up the weapon the hunter she knocked down had been holding, weilding it in one hand despite the fact it was bigger then her "GO OR I WILL KILL YOU YOUR NOT HURTING ANYONE!!!" she screamed at them as she swung the massive sword at them but not trying to hurt them yet.

"The hell!?" the woman at the front yelled as she heard the sound and looked to the ten behind her and they only started to run around the building
