Character Name: Kain Owen

Character Source: Homestuck OC

Starting Location: Inverxe

Character Behavior:
Kain is a Sneaky Psychic

He rarely flares up his powers, preferring subtle displays that accomplish his goals without gathering much attention. In reality though, he enjoys blasting his enemies at full capacity and letting others know how strong he really is, but restricts himself as a way to keep his cards hidden.

As for fighting style, he prefers staying at a distance, as his space bending abilities are not suited for melee combat. Considering his body isn’t particularly agile nor resilient, he has to keep his enemies at bay.

Physical Description:

Kain is 5’1” (155cm) tall and 16 years old.

Character History:

Kain didn't have a particularly exciting past. He was a regular kid raised by his aunt.

Until he played a game with his friend.

This game apparently saved them from the end of the world by transporting their houses to a different universe –the Medium–, where they had to complete quests, explore dungeons, and fight monsters on their assigned planet to beat the game. Kain was the Prince of Space in the Land of Pillars and Frogs, while his friend Liah was the Rogue of Time in the Land of Glass and Lights.

They progressed fairly well through their assigned quests, although not without the help of a mysterious stranger that somehow could contact them through chat even if they blocked them. The stranger refused to give much information about themself, but their advice was spot on, so the kids eventually warmed up to them, even if they never learned their name.

At some point, Kain found a transportalizer that took him to a strange city of gold –Prospit–. After exploring it, he eventually found himself at a murder scene. A black carapacean killed someone (himself?) with a knife, and tried to do the same with the alive Kain. He escaped and ran, but he couldn't do it for long. The city was like a maze, and he ended at a dead end. The last thing he remembered was an acute pain in the stomach.

When he woke up, he was in an underground chamber over a bed. He was wearing different clothes – black pajamas. A white carapacean was at his side, who smiled warmly as he stood up. But he knew he was different. The world felt different. Somehow, he was aware of his surroundings in a way he couldn't tell exactly how. He also knew he could fly, and when he tried, it worked seamlessly and effortlessly. He waved goodbye to the carapacean, and flew to Skaia, the battlefield in the center of the Medium, to keep working on his quest.

After receiving his new powers, the game became a cakewalk. No monster could stand his telekinesis, so clearing dungeons and helping in the battlefield was easy enough. And with the stranger telling them what to do, it wasn't a surprise they advanced so quickly.

The final step for the game was using some special equipment to find and clone the frogs around Kain's land, which he did alongside Liah. However, when they were close to finishing the task, another black carapacean showed up. It wasn't the same as the one that killed Kain. The fella said that what they were doing was "highly illegal", as frogs are "dangerous contraband". They were also carrying a ring, which they raised in the air, and thousands of red whips of power materialized from it and started destroying everything. Kain took Liah and teleported them to her planet. In the sky, they could see the Land of Pillars and Frogs explode.

A new message from the stranger. They said that their game was now doomed, and to continue, they had to destroy a particular feature of Liah's planet called the "High Traffic Light". When they found it, it was indeed, a huge traffic light. It wasn't hard to destroy. As soon as they did it though, hordes of monsters came to attack them. But that wasn't what caught Kain's attention – space itself was being torn apart as the traffic light's cracks began to spread.

He doesn't know what happened next. Their universe fell apart. But he was still alive, in an unknown land of ice, as the Arbiters of the Crossroads picked him up and brought him to their own world.

What starting Affinity does your character have? Specialized

Abilities/Skills:

Space Bending (1400)
-Damage 4 (400)
--Affects multiple 4 (200)
--Ranged 4 (200)
--Indirect 4 (0)

-Move Object 4 (400)
--Affects Multiple 4 (200)
--Ranged 4 (200)
--Indirect 4 (0)
--Limited (only on inanimate objects) 4 (-200)

Kain can, by bending space around objects, mentally lift them up and control them in the air. Maybe throw them at his enemies at high speeds for considerable damage.

He can manipulate multiple objects at once if he wants to, but doing so requires more mental focus, unless he's moving them in tandem. They also require more power, and their combined mass should be within his level of move object.

His power doesn't work on living beings though. He doesn't know why, but he suspects it's a mechanic against hurting others. That doesn't stop him from telekinetically throwing objects at them though.

Flight (600)
-Flight 2 (400)
--Ongoing 2 (200)

With his powers, Kain can uplift himself and maneuver around while off the ground.
