Southerly Islet (Scene - Completed!)

It was a smaller force, given the fact that much of the Fleet's offensive groups had already mobilized.

Despite its size, the sailors, pilots, and soldiers still felt full of confidence, given the massive clockwork robot that sat on their lead carrier. Somewhere on the nearby horizon, a landmark known as 'Southerly Islet' waited. Reports stated that the small island wasn't heavily fortified, but there were still a handful of reinforced positions and unknown Unmade hazards that would need to be cleared from its surface.

Notes: You are the lead figure for a small task force seizing the island to ensure that it can't be used as a future staging ground for attacks on the (hopefully concealed) CheckPoint of the Fleet. You'll face light resistance. There are no enemy Bonds here.

[Gizmo Gear]

Gizmo and more so Gadget were surprised to learn that they were in charge of a task force going toward this islet. Though Gadget still feels unease and uncertainty about the whole situation. As they sat in the safety of within the Clockwork Colossus's head. Gadget turned to Gizmo.

"You don't think these Unmade are actually alive, do you? Like we're not actually going to kill people right?" Gadget asked.

"Look the whole explanation I got about what the Unmaking and what the Unmade are just flew over my head I just settled for them being like zombies or robots so they're actually not alive and there's wrong with that. I think maybe they said something about destroying the Unmade remakes them back to once they were or something." Gizmo said.

Gadget stopped for a second, he was more bothered by the fact that they explained to Gizmo but not him. Even though they are supposed to be partners/brothers. Especially to Gizmo since he is well, definitely not the brains of the two.

"And why wasn't I told about any of that crucial information that I might have understood better than you?" Gadget asked.

"For some reason, they called me general or something and thought you were like my sidekick or whatever. General Gizmo does have a nice ring to it," Gizmo said.

Gadget then realizes his brother was made leader of an entire infantry squad and that many people under him are going to die. As his face grew more concerned as his pupils shrunken with fear. He hides his eyes behind his goggles and assumes the fetal position.

"Gizmo, if we ever make it back home, let us never tell anyone about what happened in the Crossroads." Gadget said.

As Gizmo was about to ask why they heard a blaring alarm they crawled outside to look to see what was going on. As the force Unmade was coming close to them. Clockwork Colossus looked hesitant as they approached. Before Gizmo gave him a reassuring pat. And looking at a nearby large boulder on the beach he got an idea of how to intimidate the Unmade to leave. As he grabbed Gadget inside he spoke the plan to Clockwork Colossus through a speaker in his head. Clockwork Colossus stopped to think and nodded.

The Clockwork Colossus then stomped over to the large boulder, before bending down its legs and carefully picking it up. As it lifted it over its head it then turns around to the Unmade forces. As it chucks the large boulder toward them hopefully not accidentally crushing anyone, though it might accidentally. As Clockwork Colossus then pointed at the Unmade army. It then pointed in various directions before pointing to the sky. Signaling the Unmade forces to leave. Before punching its fist in the palm of his hand as if to signal it would hurt them if they do not comply with its request.

"Either these guys would be stupider than I am to ignore a threat made by a giant robot or they are crazy either way Clockwork Colossus has this we just need to wait for their response to see if they attack or not, and hopefully they don't so we can claim this place for the good guys so that our forces are spread out better or whatever," Gizmo said.

"You had me going there that you knew what you were doing until you added the or whatever. Well, hopefully, your scare tactic works so the sooner we can finish this the sooner we can back to Nostalgia. We still need the money from all this to pay for a new spaceship." Gadget said.

"At least we got a free ride here just for signing up, and we got gum discounts too," Gizmo said.

As he then began chewing fish-flavored gum. Gizmo's taste buds could not taste sweet things so he preferred salty things like meat and seafood. Gadget is less picky but he's still grossed out that such a gum even exists.

 

[Gizmo Gear]

It turns out the boulder did hit some Unmade and crushed a few. Though as the Unmade looked toward the Clockwork Colossus, they stared blankly for a few seconds before they all unleashed an ungodly and eerie scream. As if it was an eldritch war cry. That shook Gizmo and Gadget to its core. As the Unmade came charging forward.

"Or maybe they are all mindless beasts that kill and attack anything in sight so CC buddy let's throw all moral quandaries out the window and go all out alright?" Gizmo asked.

Clockwork Colossus nodded as its eyes went red, it then pointed a fist towards the Unmade Horde and launches its fist with a spring-loaded piston, smashing the ground as Unmade flew through the air before the fist retreats back. It then ran sprinted forward toward the horde with deceptive speed despite its height and weight. Before slamming both of its hands cupped together and unleashing a double axe handle onto the ground where the Unmade horde is. Some begin trying to crawl up their legs. He kicks and shakes some off and grabs and swats as many away as he can. Before continue stomping across the ground like a kid crushing ants. Before it sees the boulder it threw earlier.

It then grabs the boulder and starts rolling it across the islet-like a bowling ball back towards the Unmade. Crushing the Unmade soldiers in its path. As the infantry would take care of any stragglers that just so happen to slip by the gigantic robot's assault. However, one Unmade managed to climb all the way to the top and onto the head. And as it opens the door inside Gadget flings his wrench at the Unmade monster as Gizmo kicks it outside. As the monster fell off of the giant and landed on the ground below. After which Gizmo and Gadget quickly close the hatch, and this time lock it tight.

"I told you we should've locked it!" Gadget said.

"Well you could have locked it yourself Gadget since you were so concerned about it, but you didn't so technically we're both to blame," Gizmo said.

Gadget was about to say something to refute that statement, but after dwelling upon it for a second. Gizmo kind of had a point there. He was too scared dwelling on this battle he didn't take the opportunity to lock the hatch. Heck, he only managed to throw the wrench at the creature that crawled in cause he was startled. Still, he was surprised at how much better this was going but considering there are supposed to be giant monsters for them to face as big if not bigger than Clockwork Colossus, he fears the worst has yet to come. And he hopes there's a safe way out in case that were to happen or if any of the other people that signed up for this would be able to bail them out.

Though for now they were hopefully but maybe possibly close to fifty percent safe.

With the help of the Clockwork Colossus, the Islet will be taken (map updates will come later this morning for you)

[Gizmo Gear]

After staring around Clockwork Colossus's eyes turned from red back to yellow. As it turned off it's all-offensive mode it looked around. As it looked at the goopy black and purple remains of the Unthings it crushed. Gizmo and Gadget climbed down from Clockwork Colossus to see what is going on. And stared in horror at the sight.

"I don't think they'll be coming back from that Gizmo." Gadget said.

"Who told you that they could be uncorrupted?" a soldier asked.

"But-but I thought." Gizmo said.

"Only the Arbiter of each world can be uncorrupted once the level of Unmaking is reduced. These beings who were once plants, animals, and even people are basically zombies now. And while these ones were mindless bipedal beasts from the sea. Some can be sentient and cunning. There's no coming back for them, death is just a mercy. But if we don't do something this planet will be taken, and all of it will become just like those monsters," the soldier said.

As the soldier walked off Clockwork Colossus seemed to have hung its head in shame as Gizmo and Gadget looked in horror at what their bond accomplished. Gizmo begins crouching down on the ground solemnly holding himself.

"Gadget, I don't think this is fun anymore," Gizmo said.
