Provided that Claruce had assisted Saryuu, he was actually grateful for him and his mother to an extent but this was no time to be idle. The darkness on the horizon was growing each and every second that he was at their house. Taking the map, food and drink, he exchanged his thanks to them before he would eventually head off with the Haunter, however, he would have to check in with Fei & Beta of the situation eventually.
He wasn't exactly a hero type as Claruce describe him as. After all, if he knew of his life before the Crossroads, he would probably have a different perspective on him than the one he's seeing now and the reason why have Beta around is a pain because she knows of both his and Fei's true backstories.
Eventually, after exchanging a few words with the other, he bid both Claruce and his mother farewell as he waved.
