Character Behavior
Fennec Shand is a oldschool markswoman. She is nearly sixty years old, though don’t let that fool you — it’s just her methods that are old, not her body. She respects the manners of the hunt, and could generally be described by all as your more classy, straightforward bounty hunter. Whilst she’s not afraid to play underhanded, it’s always in service of doing the job and moving on — this sketchy, so-evil-you-might-as-well-try-and-take-over-the-world business ain’t her speed. The kids, which she affectionately refers to as ‘Zoomers’ because of how fast they move from one goal to the next, are too ambitious.

She’s also a sharpshooter at heart. While she’s fairly adept at melee combat as showcased during her recent stint in Dante’s Abyss, her true calling is as a sniper, picking off her targets from a distance. Some call her a coward; others call her efficient. For Fennec, either label means little — in her mind, it’s just cleaner. Less dirtying of the hands, less facetime, less problems.

Character History:

Not much is known about professional assassin Fennec Shand’s past, and that’s just the way she likes it. Casual conversation with her reveals enough to confirm she’s a native of the Crossroads and has been at her gig for a long time. She’s seen all the colors of the galaxy, and spent enough time in its shadier sectors to know that a light at the end of the tunnel is a pipe dream, at best.

That’s why Fennec steers clear of the more affluent corners of the Crossroads. Too much candy-coated optimism sprinkled with designs of people with too much money. She’s happy to take that money and run, but as for her own designs… well, the stories say she was largely based on Cevanti in the years leading up to the Unmaking invasion. The different factions there provided enough good work to keep her happy and healthy, and during dry spells she might’ve picked up an odd job here or there from those on other worlds.

It’s safe to say that during those stints, Fennec saw enough of the Crossroads to know where to turn when things got spicy on Cevanti. While many of the tomb world’s denizens locked in during the Siege of Markov to defend their homeworld, Shand knows when she (and the rest of the planet) are outmatched. She jumped ship offworld and sprinted to Mesa Roja, relying on connections with the seedier denizens of Karim to support her livelihood. Since then, she’s been contacted for a particularly expensive job on the ice moon of Inverxe, with a preliminary test as a contestant of Dante’s Abyss.

Her world is about to be rocked, however, in more ways than one…

(1000)
Damage 5 (500)
— Ranged (+250)
— Removable (-250)
Sense (Vision) 5 (500)
— Ongoing (+500)
— Removable (-250)
— Limited: Only When Looking Through Scope (-250)

Fennec Shand carries with her at all times her trusty MK sniper rifle, modified over the years so that it now can shoot energy blasts that could at least dent the most powerful armor in the universe. It also has a modified scope installed on it, which allows Fennec to see hundreds of feet ahead of her and makes this weapon perfect for a quick and easy assassination.

Throwing Dagger (100)
Damage 2 (200)
— Ranged (+100)
— Finite (only one) (-100)
— Removable (-100)

A small, vibranium throwing dagger Fennec keeps in the storage compartment of her MK sniper rifle. It’s the only one Fennec has, so if she wants to use it again she has to retrieve it from the unlucky enemy she’s lodged it in.

Trained Assassin (700)
Agility 3 (300)
Concealment 1 (Sight) (100)
— Concentration (-50)
Concealment 1 (Hearing) (100)
— Concentration (-50)
Damage 1 (100)
Movement 1 (Parkour) (200)

Fennec has been training as an assassin since her younger days, and is therefore extremely nimble and has the ability to be nearly invisible and very light of foot when she wants to be. Her punches also, for lack of a better phrase, pack quite the punch.
