Physical Description:

Misa is a short, slender, attractive young woman with long, straight, golden-blonde hair, most commonly styled with a portion of her hair in pigtails tied with red bands, but occasionally worn loose as well. Her green eyes turn bright red while using the power of the Shinigami Eye. Misa often dresses in a Gothic and Punk fashion. She also typically paints her nails bright red or dark purple and wears bright red lipstick.

Character History:

At the age of 17, Misa witnessed the murder of her family during an attempted home robbery. The trial against her parents' murderer continued over a long stretch of time, during which opinions that he was falsely accused began to surface. After he was killed by Kira, Misa felt justice had been served, prompting her to become a loyal Kira supporter.

One night, shortly after beginning her modeling career, Misa met an obsessed, knife-wielding stalker. He confessed his feelings to Misa, but upon her rejection, he attacked and attempted to kill her. A Shinigami named Gelus, who had been watching Misa from the Shinigami Realm and had fallen in love with her, wrote down the name of her stalker and killed him, ultimately saving Misa's life.

Since Shinigami are meant to shorten human lifespans and not extend them, Gelus himself died, turning to dust and leaving behind only his Death Note. Since Misa was meant to die, but was saved by Gelus, the years of Gelus's lifespan were given to Misa's, extending her lifespan greatly past the average lifespan of a human being. Another Shinigami, Rem, witnessed the sacrifice and decided that Gelus' notebook should belong to Misa in accordance with Gelus' wishes. After giving Misa the Death Note, Rem was obligated to stay with her, and Rem eventually develops feelings for her over time as Gelus did. In the hope of meeting and thanking Kira for avenging her parents, Misa made the eye deal with Rem.

Allows user to see a person's name and lifespan above their head. This can only be used upon request. Misa must make a deal with Rem. Each use costs 1 month of her overall lifespan and it cannot be used to find out her own lifespan. She can never regain the fraction of their lifespan that has been sacrificed in exchange for the Shinigami Eye. In order for this to work, the person's face must be visible.

Rem must be in physical contact with Misa for the few seconds it takes to impart the ability to her, however this ability harms MIsa as it damages her lifespan. Rem cannot use the Shinigami Eye on herself or other Shinigami.

For ease of reading, and I'm sorry to be so specific about this, but we just like to have all of those included in a catch-all description of the Ability. It's easier to demonstrate than describe so I'll just post one of mine below as a demonstration. Sorry for the confusion!

Mickey possesses a keyblade he uses to engage in melee combat. A skilled opponent is able to disarm him of this, or he can hand it off to an ally to use.

The italicized part is the sentence meant to describe how it's "removable."

I'll let Jade continue to look at your abilities, but just to make it easier for staff to go through them, we try to have them formatted all in similar ways! Thanks for making those updates! Here's what I'm thinking:

Shinigami Eye

Firstly, this ability would technically only need to be Sense Rank 1, since I don't think most faces are accurately visible from much further than 150 feet away.

Overall, though, I'm not certain if this ability will work due to the nature of our forum. Death isn't permanent here and it would take a lot of Out of Character (OOC) coordination to interact with other player characters and determine what their exact lifespans are, since for some characters in particular, their lives are indefinite and it'd be hard to pin down an exact death date. Because of this, even taking 1 month off your own character's lifespan isn't a practical Side Effect on this forum.

If you really want to keep this ability for roleplay purposes, I'm gonna say that it doesn't need to cost anything in terms of Essence since it is practically all RP flavor. So, the Total Cost of this ability would be 0.

For the Sense Effect listed here and all its modifiers, same as the above Shinigami Eye ability. I don't see any reason to ask you to pay Essence for a purely RP fluff Effect, so just write it off as costing 0 Essence, please.

However, the Damage, Concealment and Agility Effects still do cost something, and you will need to mention those Effects in your ability's description, as well.

You would also write the Invisibility effect as "Concealment (Sight) - Rank 5 (500)". It will need to have the Ongoing modifier if the Shinigami can be invisible for long periods of time.
