Guts is a Reserved Berserker. A lifetime of war, and the betrayal of his Lord, has made him slow to speak and even slower to make friends. Despite of this quiet demeanor, his combat-style relies on ferocious attacks and rushing foes to keep them on the back-foot.
Physical Description:
Guts is a solidly built man, standing at 6'8" (204cm) and weighing 253 lbs (115kg). He's missing his right eye and left forearm, and has black hair and brown eyes.
Character History:
Born in Midgard, a city-state dominating one of the mid-tier gears of Govermorne, Guts has been fighting against his country's neighbors since he was a small boy. The frequent skirmishes took the lives of his mother and father when he was only five years old, and with little other option to survive, the young Guts took up a sword and joined a mercenary band. The leader of this group, known as Griffith, was a charismatic young man himself, but crafty and a top-notch strategist.
Over the course of dozen years and many long campaigns, the "Band of the Hawk" finally managed to end the wars Midgard had been embroiled in. In doing so, the King of Midgard granted Griffith a noble title and the Band became an official part of the Midgard army. However, this happy ending wasn't enough for the silver-haired leader of the Hawks. He desired more, and he found a way to get it in Darkseid.
A studious man, Griffith found reference to the Dark Arbiter among the ancient tomes in libraries that lay closest to the slag core of the planet. It was he that made the planet susceptible to Darkseid's forces, cleverly rerouting patrols from areas where cultists were gathering strength, and sending the hapless to be devoured by Parademons. By the time anyone caught wind of his treachery, it was too late; The Unmaking was already taking place.
And, in that moment, Guts lost everything. The band he'd called a family. The woman he'd fallen in love with. His right eye and his left forearm. Even the man he'd looked up to all this time. If not for the kindness of a fleeing family who'd dragged his near lifeless body to an escape pod, he'd have died on that planet, using every ounce of his being in a futile struggle to stop the inevitable. Having landed on Cevanti six months ago, the Black Swordsman has finally regained enough strength to leave Markov's walls. He has seen the same signs he saw on his home world, and he has vowed to never let Darkseid take another world like his own.
