Welcome to the chat, DoesntTakeaGhost and exodusAlighted. This channel is: private.

DoesntTakeaGhost (DTaG): Hey there. I heard you were looking for some precious metals down in Inverxe, and it looks like I’ve got the time on my hands to get it done. Whats your buying price?

exodusAlighted (eA): Hello. Payout is 2,500 coin for the work. Did you get my handle from an associate or did you find one of the listings?

eA: I’m asking because I need to know if you know everything about the job yet or not.

DTaG: Just found the listings. I’m new in town, so I don’t have a lot of associates to work with. If everything goes well, you’ll be my first.

eA: Complete the work, and I’ll definitely keep in contact. The maps I have were acquired from the rejected mining sites from RR. To give you fair warning, I don’t know exactly why they rejected them, they’re just earmarked as ‘unsuitable for mass excavation’. The TiZi ore is highlighted in blue.

exodusAlighted sent DoesntTakeaGhost a file: ‘geoscan3421.site.rrg’

eA: Delivery co-ords are the landing site at 324, 181. Do you have any questions or requirements?

DTaG: No problem. I’m more than able to move a lot of stuff without much equipment. So I’m guessing you want as much as I can harvest?

eA: Pretty much. There are several large veins marked out, and the surrounding rocks should be visibly different. If you get more than my chosen smuggler can handle (500 cubic metres) then let me know ahead of time and I’ll make arrangements for a second pickup.

DTaG: I read you. Well, how about I stop wasting time and get a move on. Next time I contact you, the job will be finished.

eA: Merry mining!

exodusAlighted exited the chat.

Kerrigan growled as the communications finally finished, and she removed the finger held to her temple. It had been quite the feature to find that beings here could cooperate via a messaging system intimately linked to the psychic world around them. This ‘medium’, as it was called, was at once a place of the subconscious and a place of the technological.

For one such as herself, it opened up a world of possibilities for later development, but for now, it gave her a simpler, if mundane, path to power. This being looking for metal was hardly the sort Kerrigan would normally deign to serve, but

The slow buzzing in her head quietened as she broke the mental link with the medium, and Kerrigan would have breathed a sigh of relief if she wasn’t so unwilling to show any weakness to this mental intrusion constantly at the edge of her senses.

Her trawling of this system’s excuse for an internet had taught her quitte a bit - including that, as of now, she was effectively grounded within the solar system. What’s more, this solar system contained just as many dangers - maybe more, than the Koprulu sector did.

And with the Protoss not only here but Executor Selendis commanding a high position in the terran ruling government, the Queen of Blades was already readying herself for a new struggle. She knew it would only be a matter of time before they came for her, as always.

The Queen of Blades clenched one fist tightly. If she wanted the strength to fight back, she’d need to take control of at least some of the broods that had fallen into these repugnant Illithid’s clutches. From there, she’d need to find a way to take her mind off this irritating drone at the back of her mind, or retreat and build her forces elsewhere until she could silence it.

All of this required funding, though. Minerals and Vespene wouldn’t mine themselves, and while she’d noticed trace amounts of both (The latter apparently dismissed as noxious gas by some firms here, and likely only understood by a select few), she’d need to rely on other sources of currency to get the fuel she needed for her swarm.

A flash of gold seeped from Kerrigan’s vision as the indignity cut through the logic, and she walked further into inverxe’s depths. Selling metal alloy to some web-seller.

The Queen of Blades let a frown settle on her face as she continued through the caverns. It was demeaning, but she could treat it as an unorthodox mission. Even with that small mollification, it still caused the Queen of Blades to wrinkle her nose.

The thought was interrupted by the sound of voices. Clearly terran, raucous, and drunk, even at this distance.

The Zerg queen smiled, making her way through the darkened caverns as she tracked the voices.

On the other hand, she was never opposed to making someone else do her job for her!
