Username: Geralt of Rivia

Have you read the rules? Yes

Character Name: Geralt of Rivia

Character Source: The Witcher

Starting Location: Kraw

Character Behavior:
Geralt is a stoic spellblade. Taken at a young age by the Witcher Vesemir as reimbursement for a contract, Geralt was thrust from the innocence of childhood into a world of danger and peril. Trained to become a Witcher and subjected to a myriad of mutations, even moreso than the average Witcher due to his unnatural tolerance, Geralt quickly adapted to this harsh culture and the discrimination that life as a mutant would bring. Playing into the stereotype that Witchers are incapable of feeling emotion, Geralt can appear as aloof and taciturn upon first introduction. To some, mainly those clients who require his monster-slaying services, he can appear quite cold and apathetic. Behind the rough exterior, however, is a deeply empathetic and morally humanist man - Geralt is capable of understanding and seeing the perspectives of others, able to take the time to listen and learn. He's willing to work with others when the need arises, and for those he'd call a friend or ally he's fiercely loyal and devoted, willing to go to the ends of the earth to make sure they're safe.
In combat, Geralt is a swordsman through and through. Carrying two longswords at all times - steel for humans and silver for monsters, Geralt does not fight like a knight. He is a sword dancer, combining his superhuman speed and agility in a battle style that is flashy yet highly competent. Alongside his physical prowess and dexterity, Geralt can also perform feats of minor magic known as signs, granted to him by both his mutations and his Witcher training. Though his magic is limited, only knowing the basic scrapings that a Witcher requires for their trade, requiring him to use these signs cautiously and carefully. Geralt also enhances his own body in combat through the use of alchemical potions, and isn't averse to setting traps against his opponent if it'd be to his benefit. Finally, Geralt is a tactician - to be skilled with a blade isn't enough to be a Witcher. One must always be prepared against their foe. If Geralt has time, he would find out information about his opponents where and if possible, to tactfully exploit their weakness and their flaws against them.

Physical Description:

A man nearly a century old, Geralt looks to be in his 50s or 60s physically, his face blemished by stray wrinkles. Standing at 6'2, Geralt's most striking feature are his eyes - golden with feline-slitted pupils, they tend to occasionally glow and glimmer in complete darkness. Geralt's hair is snow white, a unique effect of his grizzly mutations. His skin is just as pallid, almost pasty and sickly-looking. His body is littered with scars, old trophies that serve as testaments to his hunts, yet the foremost reminder is the scar that runs across his eye and down across his upper cheek. Often on the path and travelling across the wilderness, Geralt often sports a short white beard (though he despises it). In terms of attire, Geralt will often be seen wearing his Witcher armour - medium arnaments such as a chainmail jacket, leather gloves and boots and padded trousers. He's almost always seen with his two swords sheathed upon his back, just as any Witcher should be seen.

Character History:

Geralt has never been a proponent of fate - for at every turn, destiny seemed set to shorn and spite him. Born to a sorceress mother and a father who was a knight to one of the Northern Kingdoms, Geralt was taken from his parents at a young age as repayment for a contract fulfilled by the Witcher Vesemir. From there he was inducted into the School of the Wolf, undergoing intense Witcher training and barely surviving the brutal Trial of the Grasses where he received his freakish mutations. From there on, Geralt would begrudgingly undertake a series of adventures and pay witness to numerous great and lofty events upon The Continent. He would also meet numerous allies and make a myriad of friends - from Dandelion the minstrel, to Regis the vampire and an earnest dwarf known as Zoltan Chivay, to name only a few. Yet the most important of these relations was with two - Yennefer, a sorceress who became Geralts (somtimes) estranged lover and bound to him by the magic of a Djinn. And Ciri, his child surprise whose destiny intertwined with his own, and who over time became a surrogate daughter to him.

Through all that toil and adventure, things seemed to be shifting for Geralt in his later life. The Wild Hunt had finally been defeated, no longer a threat to either Ciri or the Continent at large. He'd acquired an idyllic estate in Toussaint known as Corvo Bianco, where he and Yennefer could spend their days together drinking and carousing in peace. But Witchers did not retire, and Geralt didn't seem keen on the idea either - No Witcher's ever died in his own bed was a sentiment Vesemir had often reminded him of, and Geralt carried that ideal with him even in what was meant to be his twilight years. Every so often he'd still pick up odd jobs and contracts - whether it was to relive the glory days, a stubborn reluctance to give up his trade or a combination of both, nobody could really know.

It was one of those pesky little contracts that whisked him away from the quaint, picturesque land of Toussaint, thrusting him into the chaos and spontanity of Multerra.

Hey there! Welcome (back) to the party! Let's see what we got here.

Just a quick clarification for Witcher Dexterity -- Agility mostly covers stuff like reflexes, balance, coordination and such. If you wanted to actually move faster or jump higher and such, you'd need Speed and Flight (without Ongoing) for that.

For both of your swords, they don't really need Ongoing unless like, when you hit someone with them they keep doing damage continuously after you hit them somehow. So you might could save a bit of Essence there, if you'd like.

Other than that, everything looks good! You're welcome to go ahead and make a post/thread in our Character Profiles forum and then go get started on your world of choice!

Also just a name change for the update - I'd like to change the name of the ability 'Witcher Dexterity' to just 'Witcher Reflexes' as Future clarified it's based on reflexes rather than speed. I'll give it an updated description that fits the effect when I post my character profile!
