Appearances
As showcased in the image to the right, Bardock is your standard warrior of Saiyan stock. He has a hairstyle that is someone iconic but not because of him. He wears a red bandana and sports a distinct scar that was earned on the battlefield.
He wears black and green Saiyan armor atop a sleeveless black undershirt. His arms are covered in bandages and fingerless gloves. Beneath the hip plates of his armor he wears baggy black pants, loose leather belt, and leather boots framed with steel
Personality
Bardock is a sarcastic hothead who rarely ever trusts anyone, but always has an eye for opportunity. Since most people tend to ignore him anyway, he’s used to melting into the background and observing, preferring that to talking in a situation he is unfamiliar with. He’s serious about fighting and lives for every single punch.
Possible Reactions
Bardock will take on just about anyone, even if it’s a losing match. He’ll go down swinging and bantering all the way. Although he’s not very well-mannered, he is somewhat verbally gracious to the lady fighters, one of the (very) few courtesies he possesses. Bardock knows what this competition is about, and abides by his own personal code. He believes everyone should just view it as a nothing-personal kill-or-be-killed event. Bardock also doesn’t believe in revenge.
Though he has won before and come close to repeating, that doesn’t change the way he looks at the game. He views it as you’re only as good as your next kill, and will not let prior competitions affect his frame of mind.
Relationships
As he has shown in previous years, he has little hesitation about killing friend or family, even if he may not like it. On that note, Bardock is the father of Raditzu, someone that he has killed in a prior competition. Even so, both the saiyans recognize that such things are a part of the game. Despite sharing a heritage, Bardock has no lost love for Broli, who always remained far more loyal to the throne than Bardock ever did. While Bardock doesn’t tend to be vengeful, he still harbors an intense dislike for Android 18, who bested him years ago. If anything, he’ll just be out to prove to himself that she doesn’t ‘have his number’.
Fighting Style
The saiyan prefers power over anything, but recognizes the need for balance, and will change tactics accordingly if need be. He’s a “Hulk smash” kind of guy, but is capable of using other methods. He has adopted new techniques, his primary favorite being the ability to shoot fire, but in Dante’s Abyss, he likes to use weapons over the old-fashioned way.
NPC Handicap and Notes
Handicap – Bardock is a vicious fighter in the Abyss. He is the perfect specimen for an event like this, as he is able to seamlessly set aside the many factors that could cause others to derail themselves in this type of event, like compassion and empathy. His handicap is a 4.
Notes – Bardock is unlikely to ally with the majority of entrants. There might be an exception or two, because despite his demeanor and blood history, he has allies and has kindred connections.
Unique - Bardock has the ability to go 'Super Saiyan'. To do so requires an application of Focus and then places his power on cooldown for 24 IC hours. For assessment purposes, this counts as both an application of Focus and treats him as if he has an extra ‘Decent’-tier weapon for the duration of the scene.
