Sart blinked, and coughed a few seconds “Heh, here I thought you three didn’t have it in you to get this tough sonofabitch.” The boss of the operation clapped and smirked “the perfect specimen for our test too. This will do perfectly.”
The mercenaries grabbed the raging beast and held it tight.
“Damn, no wonder you are Dante’s comet known.” Sart slapped a hand on Connor’s shoulder halfway expecting a shake. Connor looked back at Marcus as the cyborg made his way toward the group.
Connor said “The credit is owed to me and Marcus, sir.”
Sart shook his hand “Well then, it’s a pleasure to have you and Marcus working aside us. Care to discuss your pay later?”
Connor held up his hand and frowned “Sir, what about Ururu and Hikari’s pay?”
Sart looked around for Ururu and Hikari “oh yes, we can’t forget about these two.”
Marcus, can you help hope and Frod hold the beast until we get back?”
The terminator just nodded and grabbed a hold of the beast, calming its struggling only to fail holding onto the sniveling, half burned creature. Marcus took his warhammer and it hit the ground. Superheated plasma smoked around the impacted area as the terminator swung the device up and around again, this time at the vengeful beast. A loud Roar of pain was heard this time as Marcus’s warhammer collided with the beast's flesh. It was one thing to be hit with solid metal but add superheated plasma on top of that, it would be devastating.
As Marcus and the strange mutant fought, the others watched.
Some asked “Remind me again what this guy is?”
John looked up, crossing his arms “he’s a terminator, one that is a cyborg but he prefers to be human anyway.”
John sighed “he never changed his mind after that either.”
Claws dramatically met heated plasma as it only took a few seconds before the creature felt the full effects of the plasma on its nails.
It finally pulled back and tried to swipe in its rage.
Marcus growled “can’t fight like a man, can you?”
The creature lightly roared in rage, the broodmother’s anger being released in on and off swoops. The cyborg’s own movements were fluid and organic rather than terminator like. He slammed the superheated plasma warhammer at the screeching beast, who was already in bouts of pain because of being burned and hurt. Not sure how many wounds were second or third degree burns but hell they had to hurt.
The terminator let out a relieved sigh after feeling his arm “heh, he or she almost got me.”
Marcus gave a tired grin and lifted the unlucky bastard over his shoulder. “I’ll take this guy off your shoulders until we get back to the base.”
The others just walked back toward the truck and the troop carrier. John looked up at Ururu “Just between us, but thank you.”
Connor’s hand went onto the smaller ninja's shoulder.
“If you ever want to find me, find my encryption code. He hands the ninja a card with numbers on it.
“As for my next move, I'm not exactly sure at the moment.” Connor cleared his throat again and nodded.
Seems odd that John was the chatty one near the back of the troop transport. When he came, he was silent like the other mercenaries in said truck.
Marcus felt a light pain radiating from the half burned “whatyoumacallits.”
His job is otherwise pretty easy other than keeping down the raging half burned creature.”
Sart looked out front , the vehicle turning a corner toward the main military base.
As the transport grinder to a stop, the Back opened and two mercenaries and Marcus carried said “prize” toward the back and strapped it down hard to make sure it didn’t bust out of its restraints.
John felt a strange sense of dejavu from this whole scenario. At one point, he chased his past friend Marcus from his base at home but he also strapped down a hydrobot from home so he could observe how it worked.
Funny but instead of a terminator or a hydrobot, he and Sart were observing a half burned unmade creature strapped down in a private room with one window.
Sart and John looked upon said window. “Thanks to you and your friends, we got one heck of a perfect specimen.”
John frowned “I know, sart. But what did we actually find out about the unmade in the process?”
Sart cleared his throat “there were quite a few strange planets that were irregular and seemed sentient and could think on their own. “
John looked up “so there’s a chance there is smart unmade without control.” “I’ve only run into one being that was unmade but was a lot bigger than this specimen.”
Sart questioned the man “who”
“A unmade dragon named Ridley “
Sart looked up, 'he was in Dante’s abyss with you?”
John thought for a second “only after he was captured, was I able to interrogate him.”
Sart nodded “I see.”
“Only for a short time.”
Sart crossed his arms “This ridley, is he dangerous?”
John frowned “perhaps” “I didn’t find out much more about the dragon.”
Sart nodded “I’ll leave you to find out more another time. Let’s solve one problem before the other,hm?”
John was silent for a second and whispered a favor to Sart “You watched Dante’s Abyss this year, right Sir? As a favor, I believe the robot I reprogrammed is alive around the area, you know where I can find a man named the terminator?”
Sart blinked and thought for a few moments and moved his finger to a point near the base. He’s actually remarkably close and I suppose he’s looking for you.
John looked around. “Again, I’m not surprised.'
“If I predict he’s coming close, he must have found something that tipped him off to my presence.
Sart nodded “interesting, so this terminator friend of yours knows how to find you and learns amazingly fast?”
Connor nodded “it’s complicated, he’s specifically reprogrammed to protect me.”
Sart frowned “you know how to stop him if he isn’t who you think?”
Connor nodded “yes”
Marcus raised an eyebrow “you sure about this, Connor?”
Connor nodded, ``I'm partway sure this terminator still knows who I am.”
With that, a field medic looked over John’s untreated injuries. “Connor, how the hell did you get off with so little injuries compared to the others?”
The commander signed, 'You got to thank Marcus for that one, he pulled me out of danger one too many times.”
The terminator muttered, 'I have the wounds to show for it as well. But they’ll heal as usual.”
Connor was greeted by the field clerk and handed money for his reward and more info for future missions with the Commission.
The field medic finished patching up Connor as he pulled his coat sleeves back down. “Thanks.”
Marcus shook the smaller ninjas hand firmly with a frown only to replace it with a light smile, 'Thanks you two, it was an interesting partnership. “
The cyborg terminator had holes in his leather jacket, but he didn’t mind it.
Marcus oddly looked a little less tense than he usually did, but took a breath anyway.
The bruiser slinked to the background of Connor. It always seems to happen when your life takes less priority than the man’s itself .
Not that he particularly minded it being that way for the time being.
“So, Connor, what’s next on your busy schedule? Marcus looked up and grunted.
The fur lined soldier turned back at Marcus and nodded “huh? Oh. I might put down an official base of operations sooner than later.”
“Got to get settled somewhere in this world like it or not. I don’t like the prospect of leaving the machine war behind but I have to fight both fronts from here.”
John checked his comm encryption “As long as you have the number, you can contact me anytime.”
I looked over at the other eyes, wondering what I should do next, pondering over my own decision.
I shall let you guys know my next move. I shall need your assistance again, or vice versa. For now, I’d like to find the terminator before things become messy and turns into a miscommunication between parties. For now, I suppose, shall we get a ride back to Arcadia where the military base resides, Sart?
He says “Mission completed, let’s head back to base.”
“I’m not completely sure of everyone’s plans at the moment but I’ll be in contact with everyone here just in case because I know I can trust all of you to get the jobs done.”
John stood by a tree, leaning back on it while Marcus shrugged off the injuries he had sustained earlier.
John looked up “you two have plans? If it’s none of my business to know, it's perfectly fine. I understand the need for privacy.'
