Appearance: https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/jujutsu-kaisen/images/9/99/Mahito_(Anime_2).png/revision/latest?cb=20231124190008

Personality:
Mahito is best described as a cowardly sadist. He is an individual who delights in cruelty, finding no greater joy than tormenting his enemies and finding the best way to ruin their day. He possessed a great deal of contempt for humanity, seeing himself as the representation of all their most negative parts, and won’t hesitate to kill someone once he sees no further use for them. In spite of this, he is shockingly happy-go-lucky, as if all his horrible actions are nothing special. Both in and out of battle, he is endlessly sarcastic and irreverent, struggling to take anyone seriously to the degree that his behaviour is silly, almost childlike.

When his life is actually on the line, however, and the penny drops that he might actually be in danger, it’s like a switch is flipped. Mahito won’t beg, knowing that no one would willingly spare him, but will do anything else in an attempt to live, gladly running away and deploying all of the tricks up his sleeve to save his own life. Mahito is, overall, a very clever and creative curse, approaching life in a way that maximises his own safety and the potential for both physical and emotional damage to others.

Possible Reactions:

Other Contestants: Mahito will approach his fellow contestants in the way that he believes will best further his goals. If he can manipulate someone, he will. If he can kill someone and get away with it, he will. If someone is liable to beat his ass if he shows his face, he’ll do his best to steer clear of them until the odds swing in his favour.

Wounded contestants: Even if they were once “““allies”””, Mahito will gleefully take the opportunity to finish off wounded contestants. The worse condition they are in, and the less able they are to fight back, the more he will take his time to toy with them. However, he still prioritises his life over their suffering, and will finish them quickly at the first genuine sign of self defence.

Role: Survivor

Combat Style: Mahito approaches combat tactically, preferring to assess the situation and pick his battles rather than simply rushing in. If possible, he would rather lay a trap for his opponents than face them directly, ideally crippling them with a powerful surprise attack before taking his time to pick them apart, slowly tormenting helpless foes. He is also very creative in combat, rarely using the same strategy twice to prevent opponents from adapting to his tactics. If the tides turn in the favour of his enemies, he has no reservations about simply running away. If he, somehow, makes any allies, he will gladly manipulate them as use them to his advantage.

Quotes:

“So stupid…”

“I kill without a second thought, just like you save people without a second thought.”

“Have you ever stopped to count how many curses you’ve killed? Me neither.”

Abilities:

Idle Transfiguration (Self)

Shapeshifting (1500)

Damage - Rank 5 (500)

Flight - Rank 4 (800)
  • Ongoing (400)

Growth - Rank 5 (1000)
  • Ongoing (500)

Shrink - Rank 5 (1000)
  • Ongoing (500)

Movement - Rank 3 (600) (Burrowing, Swimming, and Wall-walking)

Speed - Rank 2 (400)
  • Ongoing (200)

Total cost: 6500

The most basic application of Mahito’s cursed technique, but still incredible flexible nonetheless, allows Mahito to shapeshift his body at will. Shrinking, growing, flying, forming natural weapons, all of these and more are within his reach, limited only by his imagination. Additionally, he can effectively replace damaged or lost body parts, though he will still take damage, obviously becoming weaker and more ragged as time goes on.

Idle Transfiguration (Others)

Damage - Rank 7 (700)
  • Limited (Creatures with souls) (-350)

Total cost: 350

Mahito’s most dangerous offensive technique, by touching another creature with his hands, he can forcibly shapeshift them. While this potent technique can utterly reshape weak-willed creatures, those with stronger wills (read: PCs and important NPCs) are much more resilient. Instead, these subjects will experience Idle Transfiguration as violent tearing and eruption of flesh at the site of the touch.

Idle Transfiguration - Blast
Damage - Rank 5 (500)
  • Ranged (250)
  • Affects Multiple I (250)

Total cost: 1000

Mahito produces a transfigured human, a small object hidden on his person, and tosses it. Moments later, it will grow significantly before detonating in an eruption of bone spikes like a nightmarish frag grenade.

Idle Transfiguration - Pierce
Damage - Rank 5 (500)
  • Ranged (250)
  • Indirect (500)

Total cost: 1250

Taking a transfigured human, Mahito alters it to possess extreme innate thrust. It can then either be fired directly at the target or tossed before firing at a direction he desires in a manner similar to a ricochet.

Idle Transfiguration - Barrier
Variable Creation - Rank 5 (1000)
  • Ongoing (500)

Protection - Rank 5 (500)
  • Ongoing (500)

Total cost: 2500

Using a transfigured human, Mahito transfigures it into a massive barrier or other tough construct of some description, often possessing some disturbingly human traits.

Hand-to-hand Combat
Damage - Rank 4 (400)

Total cost: 400

When the chips are down, Mahito is at least decent at throwing hands.

Black Flash
Damage - Rank 7 (700)
  • Chaotic (-350)

Total cost: 350

The real reason for Mahito to bother fighting hand to hand rather than creating his own natural weapons, Mahito has a small chance with each strike to deal significantly more damage, accented by a flash of black energy.

Cursed Spirit Body
Adaptation: Incredible Heat Environments (100)
Adaptation: Incredible Cold Environments (100)
Adaptation: Need to Breathe (200)
Adaptation: Space (300)
Adaptation: Radioactive Environments (50)
Adaptation: Starvation and Thirst (50)
Adaptation: Need for Sleep (50)
Adaptation: Chemical or Toxic Environments (50)
Adaptation: Disease (50)
Adaptation: Falling (100)
Adaptation: Non-biological Anatomy (300)
Adaptation: Immune to Pain (200)

Protection - Rank 7 (700)
  • Ongoing (700)
  • Weakness (Soul-based attacks) (-175)

Total cost: 2775

As a cursed spirit, Mahito doesn’t need to worry about a vast majority of affiliations that plague normal humans. Furthermore, effects that do not damage the soul are much less likely to cause him lasting damage to him.

Consumables

Polymorphic Soul Isomer (x2)
Summon (300)

Polymorphic Fists

Damage - Rank 6 (600)

Move Object - Rank 6 (600)

Total cost: 1200

Fusing several transfigured humans with high compatibility together, Mahito can create a creature known as a Polymorphic Soul Isomer. Vaguely humanoid, rather blocky and composed of geometric shapes, these creatures pack a deadly offensive punch (literally, as their fists are their only form of offense) but are exceptionally squishy, potentially dying to one good hit.

Domain Expansion: Self-Embodiment of Perfection
Damage - Rank 12 (1200)
  • Ongoing (1200)
  • Affects Multiple III (1800)
  • Side Effect (Disables Idle Transfiguration Abilities) (-600)

Variable Creation - Rank 7 (1400)
  • Ongoing (700)
  • Side Effect (Disables Idle Transfiguration Abilities) (-350)

Illusion (Sight) - Rank 7 (1400)
  • Ongoing (700)
  • Side Effect (Disables Idle Transfiguration Abilities) (-350)

Protection - Rank 10 (1000)
  • Ongoing (1000)
  • Limited (One side of barrier) (-500)
  • Side Effect (Disables Idle Transfiguration Abilities) (-500)

Total cost: 8100

Mahito’s ultimate expression of his cursed technique, the creation of his domain, this ability begins with the creation of a barrier up to 60 feet in diameter. This barrier is opaque black from the outside, while the inside is obscured by a vast illusion of a purple void filled with massive hands, making it difficult to tell how far away the bounds of the barrier are. This barrier is highly tough, but only from either the inside or the outside as decided when Mahito creates it, not both. While inside, anyone is subject to an empowered version of Idle Transfiguration, tearing them apart with more power and even effecting entities without souls. However, after using this ability, Mahito’s Idle Transfiguration and all associated abilities will be exhausted for the remainder of the scene (unless he can get lucky and land a black flash), forcing him to fight hand-to-hand.
