The following is a non-exhaustive list of characters present at the Convention (aka the 'Preshow Facility') for the duration of the event, which also includes the 'Spectator' thread that will go up once the event begins. This list includes names, blurbs, roles, and locations (as applicable).

If you have a character you'd like to add here just message me about it on Discord (to avoid excess PMs during registration). Also, I'll try and maybe add hyperlinks for certain characters, but I can't promise I'll remember to do that.

I can't use bolding in this forum, so I hope you apologize for the enlarged text. Anyway... this list will be updated throughout the preshow, so check back closer to launch for a more exhaustive list of extra characters who will be available in the Spectator thread.

Syntech NPCs
  • Karl Jak - Karl Jak is seemingly everywhere at once. It's commonly accepted that there is more than one Karl Jak around the Crossroads, but you'll usually never spot them in any one place.
  • Kevin Kaj - Kevin is Karl's personal assistant, a seemingly innocuous title that actually carries with it an extreme amount of responsibilities and oversight into the daily operations of Syntech. Kevin is a Death Game alum and the centerpiece of a number of comics, short films, and an upcoming video game release. Kevin by his very nature would rather focus on 'his job' than the extra things he's been pushed into by his boss. Kevin, who used to personally introduce contestants to the convention, prefers to do this, but he is often whisked around to other mundane tasks.
  • Charlie - Karl Jak's other personal assistant. Charlie is far less likeable and amenable than Kevin, who she has something of a love-hate platonic relationship with owing to their history in the company. When Kevin died, she inherited his job, and with his return, they have the same job title, but she now does 80% less work. A win-win for her.
  • Ronald Syntech - The de facto face of Syntech's department of legal experts, Ronny is a fan of contracts, small print, and signing documents. You may see him milling around ensuring that NDAs and other documents are properly endorsed and notarized.
  • Screamsicle, MD (VIP) - Retired Dante's Abyss contestant, Screamsicle runs a successful medical practice. How? We don't know. We don't question these things.
Site NPCs
  • Scrooge McDuck - One of Karl Jak's golf partners, Scrooge owns the lease for a few businesses in the Recreation Dome. He's also here to grease palms and plant the seeds for future business deals
  • Dark Link - One of the champions of Nos'talgia, Dark Link can be found among the Convention visitors. Like many others from around the Crossroads, Dante's Abyss offers an opportunity to network and crowdfund not only local causes but also the on-going threat of the Unmaking.
  • General Leia Organa - The head of the ARC, Leia is someone who has had plenty of dealings both public and private with Karl Jak. Off the books, many of the weapons she uses are Syntech manufactured, and she's often not one to turn down one of Karl Jak's experimental weapons, given her role in combating the Unmaking throughout the entire Crossroads
  • Leliana - She is present here as a representative of the Arcadian throne
  • Claudius Dulmare - Present as a representative of Markov and the Pilot's Union.
  • Professor Indiana Jones - Present as a representative of the University of New Abraxas. Also, you kind of have to assume that the good doctor would thrive in an environment like this.
  • Tibus Heth - Present as a representative of Kaalakiota Corp.
  • A generic envoy from the City of Hope (you really think Comstock would come to this 'circus'??)
  • Envoys from the House of Wakanda and the House of Gerudo
Non-Syntech NPCs
  • Anyone who sends me a personal NPC or something will probably see that character pop up here
  • Jak Mar & Daxter (VIP)- Three-time participant Jak Mar and his companion, Daxter, are guests of honor at the convention. You can find 'the Dynamite Kid' wandering around, exchanging pleasantries and sharing stories.
  • Slurt (VIP) - Everyone's favorite little goblin from Dante's Abyss XVII.

Other
  • "Android XVII" - Likely to be found in the bar, Seventeen is here because Beatrix (and Jaina) is a contestant. Seventeen considered joining, but he was told by Karl that the event had its quota of 'nostalgia acts' and to try again some other time. Seventeen, who will likely be a 6 out of 10 on the scale of drunkiness for the duration of the event, is an approachable and amicable person with plenty of stupid stories about the 'nowhereland' of Erde and Mesa.
  • Hela - An Asgardian, Hela runs a Viking-themed brew pub in the Recreation Dome. Rumors that she killed the former owner are 100% unfounded. Rumors that the staff are coerced into working there for no pay are also 100% unfounded.
  • Sergeant Swift - Something of a folk hero from Cevanti, the Sergeant is another former Dante's Abyss alumnus who declined participating but nevertheless wanted to enjoy the party that is the convention. Always in her battle armor, rumors that she performs 'pop music shows' at secret after-hours pubs are 100% unfounded.
  • PJ (and Bangalore) - Present, technically-speaking, because Gilgamesh signed part of his contract with her name as a gag, PJ, a former winner of this event, considered enlisting just to troll her 'boss', but she was turned away by Karl Jak for 'contractual reasons'. She'll resign herself to pass the time in various bars with her life partner, Anita.
  • Roll - An impressionable young android who works in engineering for the ARC, she doesn't drink and can probably be found playing in the Park or browsing computers in the Library.
