Character Behavior
V is an oddball, but best summed up under a blanket of being a sociopathic opportunist.

She feels virtually no remorse or regret for any of her actions, the vast majority of the time. While saying she has no conscience at all might be a bit of a stretch, she will wholeheartedly engage in, and in fact gleefully enjoy, any number of actions to manipulate, exploit and harm others. She has limited ability to empathize with or even recognize the emotions of others, save for those she knows well or has managed to grow close to. She is easily angered or agitated, though this often manifests in a staggering degree of aloof coolness and callousness rather than conventional displays of anger.

When it comes to battle, however…she is something else entirely. Her cruel streak goes on full display, as she will do literally anything and everything to torment and wear down her targets, while she fully revels and delights in the mayhem. She will tease, taunt, torment and badger targets and opponents, seeking to unnerve or goad them into doing something foolish or making a mistake. She will make seemingly inopportune attacks, or do something blatantly out of left field and wasteful as if in a vain showoff of her firepower and abilities to distract targets from the ‘real’ threat. She will go after noncombatants or bystanders, or allies she perceives as weaker to demoralize or force more morally-inclined types to overreach and expose themselves. It’s all about reacting to the moment, and exploiting any opportunity or advantage no matter how small, even if the ‘moment’ is something she forcefully engineered. She has no concept of ‘hitting below the belt’, either, and doesn’t believe in things like ‘fighting fair’ or ‘foul play’ – it’s all about what’s most effective.

Physical Description:

nZljjGe.jpg

V is a Disassembly Drone, colloquially referred to as a “murder drone” by those less inclined to remember the ‘technical aspects’. She stands at approximately 5’, though the odd shape of her legs and resulting posture makes her exact height difficult to determine. She sports a primarily white coloration on most of her body, with an overall sleek, lithe and feminine design and aspect to her figure and overall shape, with an appearance generally construed as ‘conventionally attractive’, by designers.

Her arms widen at the wrists, ending in a ring of alternating yellow and black stripes not unlike caution tape, and her forearms have a seemingly hollow interior sealed off by an iris door, through which her hands and other assorted tools emerge. At approximately the mid-thigh her legs are encircled by another yellow-and-black striped ring and from there down her legs are black in color, giving the vague appearance of stockings as taper to a narrow blunt point where her feet would be, where they again sport the scheme of yellow and black striping.

The lower half of her face appears fairly normal, with a standard human-like mouth which bizarrely sports very human-like teeth and a tongue – though hers is notably a rather unnatural dark, mechanical gray color and unnaturally long – though when she gets ‘violent’ she reveals a set of retractable sharp, fang-like teeth not dissimilar to those of a predatory animal or even a vampire.

She lacks a nose or anything approximating it, and the upper part of her face is completely made up of a display visor, which bears her eyes. These can cycle through and display a wide range of apparent emotions, and include several auxiliary functions such as anime-like sweat drop, pulsing anger veins, blush lines and marks, bags/lines under the apparent ‘eyes’ and so on, to help with emoting. Whenever in her ‘violent’ state, her eyes tend to turn into a >< shape, or something much like a sideways X. While the vast majority of the time her eyes and visor will show things in a bright, clear neon yellow color, in the event of serious errors, glitches or damage the color can change from anything to red, to blue, to purple.

She sports a silver-gray bob cut style of hair, which frames her face down to approximately chin length. There appears to be a headband in her hair, like one would use to hold back their hair, which sports an array of five lights set equidistant from one another, all of them usually the same neon yellow as her eyes. Quite noticeably, she has a long tail emerging from her back, at approximately where the end of the spine would be on a human. It is quite narrow, similar to a length of cable or the like, but surprisingly sturdy and strong, on top of being fully controllable and prehensile. This tail is easily as long in length as V is tall, and perhaps somewhat longer. It ends with a canister containing a faintly glowing neon yellow liquid, and a large spear-like injector-stinger, which seems to constantly gleam unnervingly with a surgically precise sharpness.

Of final note, the only clothing V wears is a black, short-sleeved coat. It is cut in a crop-top style, only reaching to her mid-torso, and sports a furred collar and flared cuffs at the edge of its sleeves, with a yellow armband on her left sleeve.

Character History:

V is one of many Disassembly Drones created before the End, by a now long-since defunct company known as JCJenson. All of its resources were either destroyed, bought and incorporated into other still-enduring companies, or shipped off-world to go re-brand and take business elsewhere during the catastrophe.

Ostensibly, they were created to serve as something between salvage robots and (mostly) covert assassins, to handle other mechanized and automated emplacements that were considered aberrant, rogue, or otherwise ‘out of normal parameters’. They were originally given rudimentary AI-based personalities, which could theoretically grow and develop into something indistinguishable from a human’s if they managed to last and survive long enough in their line of work, though over time the middleman of ‘growth’ was cut out and they began being constructed with fully-fledged AIs and personalities, so they could be produced and ‘ready-made’ that much quicker.

The tendency to overdo the violence and enjoy it a bit too much, and cause some…unnecessary collateral damage lead to a more colloquial term of ‘murder drones’, as things that weren’t their target who got in the way tended to also wind up scrapped, owing to a less than stellar overall view of them, but their effectiveness was certainly unquestionable. Some ‘design flaws’ and failsafes intended to keep them under control were eventually worked into the design, but they remained just as effective as ever, for the most part.

Most of them were, predictably, destroyed long ago, with only a scant few remnants still lurking in the wastes and abandoned places beyond Markov’s borders. Just waiting for some poor sod with the right amount of luck and/or un-luck to stumble across one and accidentally reactivate it.

V, herself…is one such lucky late-generation drone enough to have escaped destruction. After succumbing to a spike of the aforementioned ‘design flaws’ while on an assignment, her systems shut down as a protective measure to keep from overheating or self-damaging, and she has lain dormant ever since, buried out there just waiting for the right twist of fate to wake her up again.

Abilities/Skills:

Drone Construction (1,400)
Adaptation (Incredible Cold Environments) (100)
Adaptation (Need to Breathe) (200)
Adaptation (Radioactive Environments) (50)
Adaptation (Chemical or Toxic Environments) (50)
Adaptation (Disease) (50)
Adaptation (Falling) (100)
Adaptation (Non Biological Anatomy) (300)
Endurance 5 (500)
– Side Effect (Overheating) (-250)
Protection 3 (300)
– Ongoing (0) (Specialized)

As a so-called ‘murder drone’, and therefore a drone in and of itself, V’s body is built with an incredible sturdiness.
She can tolerate incredible extremes of low temperature with ease.
While breathing helps maintain temperature and allows for talking, she doesn’t need to do so to ‘survive’, as it were.
Her systems are hardened and protected against radiation, and her mechanical construction renders her resistant to all manner of toxic chemicals and agents, and unaffected by most diseases.
She can withstand falls from surprisingly tremendous heights without any apparent damage.
V’s body thankfully doesn’t possess anything like ‘vital organs’ to speak of. While sufficient damage can incapacitate her, there aren’t any particular weak spots that could cripple her or deal a ‘mortal wound’ as it were.

V also possesses a staggering well of energy to draw from and keep going and going and going, enduring prolonged combat, hunting or other strenuous activity with seeming ease…but it comes at a bit of a price. The ‘design flaw’ that disassembly drones were eventually fitted with sees them start to overheat quite rapidly, especially under intense or prolonged activity. This can only really be mitigated and maintained by regular ingestion of oil (or other similar lubricating fluids with a high thermal capacity, in a pinch), or entering a low-power/sleep state for prolonged periods, and via minimizing activity to prolong overheating in the first place. Letting it go unchecked can see the drones reach temperatures where they start to rapidly wear out and suffer failure after failure, eventually completely seizing up and shutting down, not unlike vehicle engines.

Lastly, V’s body is surprisingly robust and resilient to harm, able to weather the rigors of combat surprisingly well. A blend of metal alloys and other synthetic components keeps her well-protected overall, without sacrificing mobility or adding excess weight.

Murder Drone Strength (250)
Move Object 5 (500)
– Ongoing (0) (Specialized)
– Side Effect (Overheating) (-250)

Despite her slender figure and unassuming size, V possesses truly tremendous and monstrous physical strength. She can apply tremendous force, easily lifting up and manhandling other drones and people, forcibly pry open even massive hydraulic doors if she can wedge her hands between them, and other such monstrous feats of physical strength.

Exerting herself in this way can begin to rapidly tax her systems, however, and lead to complications.

Hyper-Mobility (1,250)
Agility 5 (1,000)
– Side Effect (Overheating) (-250)
Movement (Wall-Crawling) (200)
Speed 2 (400)
– Ongoing (0) (Specialized)
– Side Effect (Overheating) (-100)

Even regular drones sported incredible precision and manual dexterity in their line of work. Naturally, to counter that, disassembly drones were made to be superior. They sport incredibly fine motor control, precision, dexterity and reflexes, able to perform truly astounding acrobatic maneuvers with seeming ease and perfect grace. They have similarly astounding reflexes and manual dexterity for dealing with objects and acting in close quarters. They also feature an incredible capability for flexibility, twisting and contortion, able to squeeze through openings smaller than one might expect and slink around in air vents and the like, naturally to scare the bajeezus out of anything they’re hunting.

On top of that, disassembly drones had another feature included as an extra ‘treat’ – namely, they have an uncanny ability to move and climb along walls and ceilings like a spider, clinging to even seemingly sheer surfaces without issue, and even sometimes hanging upside down like a bat while they ‘sleep’.

Lastly, while primarily renowned for their flight speed, they are much quicker than anticipated even on foot, able to easily reach and maintain speeds even greater than an average human could reach at a full sprint.

This level of unprecedented mobility does come at a cost, however.

Razor Wings (800)
Flight 6 (1,200)
– Ongoing (0) (Specialized)
– Limited (Only while wings are out) (-300)
– Removable (Wings can be damaged/destroyed) (-300)
Damage 4 (400)
– Limited (Only while wings are out) (-200)
– Removable (Wings can be damaged/destroyed) (-200)

One of the hallmarks of the so-called murder drones. At need, V can deploy a pair of huge wings with a span well over twice her own height from wingtip to wingtip, which at first glance look to be feathered and almost angelic in appearance…but each ‘feather’ is, in fact, a razor sharp blade. While thus deployed, V can freely fly at an incredibly high rate of speed and with staggering precision and control. She can hover perfectly still in place as well, and though she can’t move fully in three dimensions, she can make incredibly tight and swift turns, rolls and pirouettes to rapidly change course. Notably, the wings themselves don’t actually flap or even need to move at all to facilitate flight; they merely serve as, effectively, a simple on/off switch for flight functionality, and perhaps as a minor intimidation measure to behold them silhouetted in the sky.

Naturally, the razor feathers of these wings can serve as deadly weapons, able to slash and stab with surprising force, owing to a fine degree of control and flexibility.

Sadly, the wings are not…perfect, however. The flight systems can only be employed when the wings are actively out and deployed, which can be a bit difficult in some situations owing to their size; in particularly tight areas, or if she is otherwise restrained or confined in some way and prevented from properly deploying them, then their uses is lost to her, at least temporarily. On top of that, her wings need to be in reasonably good condition on top of that. Minor damage or a few missing feathers won’t stop them from working, but more serious damage will render them inoperable.

Regeneration (750)
Healing 6 (1,200)
– Triggered (On taking damage) (+300)
– Finite (-300)
– Side Effect (Overheating) (-300)
– Weakness (Major Damage) (-150)

V herself, and indeed all disassembly drones, harbor a natural regenerative and self-repair system. It automatically responds to any damage they take, and will work to repair it immediately. Regardless of the extent of the damage, it can usually be healed and repaired in a matter of seconds, up to and including even regrowing entire limbs or even an entire head.

The effect isn’t limitless, however. The regeneration is produced by a store of nanites within V’s body. While she has enough to take care of a theoretically limitless amount of cosmetic damage or minor injuries, it won’t last forever in a real combat situation. These nanites do of course replenish naturally over time, similar to the way a human restores plasma in their blood after a donation, but it isn’t a quick process. In a pinch, V can chow down on and ingest mechanical and metal matter to quickly process into fuel for the regenerative process.

The regeneration function is, however, incredibly intensive and taxing on V’s systems, especially quickly repairing significant damage.

Lastly…the regenerative process isn’t perfect. While it can deal with a surprising degree of damage, there are some things that prove to be just too much. Repeated damage can eventually exhaust it, or truly severe damage can just overtax it. While it won’t ever completely “burn out” or anything, it can certainly be rendered ineffective, or simply take a far longer time to do any worthwhile healing.

Interchange Hands: Claws (150)
Damage 3 (300)
– Limited (Interchangeable) (-150)

Arguably the most iconic and ‘signature’ weapon if the disassembly drones. V retracts her current hands and in their place produces a set of much larger, clawed hands, each ‘finger’ being a large scything blade as good as a dagger or curved short sword. Despite the deadly and clumsy look of them, they retain full manual dexterity of normal fingers, and are incredibly adept at slashing and stabbing, as well as gripping onto and crushing/slicing objects.

While changing her hands from any weapon or feature to another only takes a second or two, V can only utilize one of them at a time.

Interchange Hands: SMG (300)
Damage 3 (300)
– Ranged (+150)
– Limited (Interchangeable) (-150)

The primary ‘light’ ranged weapon for disassembly drones. V retracts her current hands and in their place produces a pair of SMGs, seemingly modeled after an MP5, or something similar. Though their individual stopping power per bullet isn’t exceptionally high, they have a high rate of fire and reasonable accuracy at shorter distances. They make for excellent covering fire or distraction while closing into more favorable engagement ranges, if nothing else.

While changing her hands from any weapon or feature to another only takes a second or two, V can only utilize one of them at a time.

Interchange Hands: Miscellany (150)
Variable Creation 1 (200)
– Limited (Interchangeable) (-50)

A catch-all term for various….other things that are housed within the interchange system. Alongside weapons, they can also produce a handful of other more mundane and ‘fun’ items. For example, such things as…
– Screwdrivers and other simple tools
– Bubble Wands
– Squeaky toys (V’s favorite to produce is one shaped like a banana)
– Party Poppers
– Flags, with varying text displayed on them
– Flashlights
-- Scalpels
-- Small surgical/Dental drills and saws
-- Tongs/Pliers/Pincers

While they don’t really have any major use, they’re the type of things that are just…neat to have on hand (hur hur) whenever needed, or in a pinch.

While changing her hands from any weapon or feature to another only takes a second or two, V can only utilize one of them at a time.

I dunno the character limits/minimum for usernames, but if just 'V' is too short, the full name of 'Serial Designation V' also works.

Also, for recordkeeping: as mentioned over here, using a donation reward to switch without essence loss.
