New Character Name: Dr. McNinja
Is this character an OC or a Canon character? Canon Character
Starting Location? Erde Nona
Character Behavior
Dr. McNinja is a Lighthearted Acrobat. Doc likes to keep things upbeat, quipping often and rather easily distracted. If faced with a horrifying situation, Doc would most likely crack a joke about how scared he is.
Doc’s fighting style is best described as Acrobatic. He prefers the stealthy approach, but once the fighting begins, Doc can be seen doing complicated backflips. He moves with great speed and agility, hitting his foes with great precision from odd angles.
Physical Description:
Doc‘s physique is that of a very fit 30-year-old man, and his muscles are deceptively toned. In fact, he’s surprisingly buff. Otherwise, there is not much to say about his body itself, especially with how covered it usually is. Doc is 5’8”, and weighs about 170 pounds. He has blue eyes and blond eyebrows.
His outfit is also rather non-descript. Most of the time, Doc wears a neat white collared shirt, black tie, black slacks and black loafers. Over it all, he wears the lab coat that’s typical for most doctors, usually with a pen in the breast pocket and a stethoscope around his neck.
The easiest way to identify Doc is his ninja mask. He is literally never seen without It, as part of his cultural heritage. Even when eating or throwing up, Doc doesn’t reveal his face. No matter how out-of-place or inappropriate it is, Doc doesn’t take it off. Even when Doc is injured in battle, this apparently very resilient fabric isn’t frayed or damaged… not unless his opponent intentionally tries to do so. Attempt this at your own peril.
Character History:
Dr. McNinja wasn’t originally a native of the Crossroads. Like many others, he found himself here after unexpected circumstances: in his case, by entering a dimensional portal after pulling the fire alarm in the White House (long story, pg. 19 of “A Bad Enough Dude”). In his original world, Doc lived in Cumberland, Maryland, running a humble clinic that treated truly unusual diseases that most physicians couldn’t crack.
However, Doc is perhaps more famous as the vigilante protector of Cumberland. He’s faced off with its surprisingly robust criminal underworld and other threats to his hometown. Thanks to the peculiar cosmic circumstances that created his world, Cumberland is a fairly normal town but constantly beset upon by outlandish enemies, like unicorn motorcycles, tennis-worshiping Aztec robots, the transdimensional despot King Radical, Dracula, and the incredibly haunted woods outside Doc’s clinic. He honestly spends most of his time fighting these foes along with his mustachioed kid sidekick Gordito, his sidekick’s velociraptor Yoshi, his gorilla secretary Judy, and the other McNinjas.
But all that’s over now. Doc has been transported to another world… again. In the two years since then, Doc has established a small clinic at the edge of Arcadia. He’s stayed off the radar, spending his time treating people that come to him for help, unconcerned for money or fame. Most people haven’t heard about him, and those who have treat him like they would any other doctor who refuses to take off his ninja mask. Doc certainly hasn’t spent too much time adventuring… though that’s about to change.
Abilities/Skills:
HE IS A NINJA (1300 Essence)
Damage (100) Rank 1
Modifiers: None
Agility (200) Rank 3
Modifiers: None
Concealment (Sight) [100] Rank 2
Concealment (Hearing) [100] Rank 2
Modifiers: Ongoing [+100]
He is a ninja. Trained from a young age, Doc’s body is honed to perfection to evade the senses by 1) being hard to detect and 2) not being in the same place for too long. His physical blows hurt quite a bit, too. Unfortunately, his transference to the Crossroads has nerfed his inert skills some.
NINJA SCALPEL (200 Essence)
Damage [100] Rank 4
Modifiers: Removable [-50]
It’s a sword. Get it?
GRAPPLING HOOK (225 Essence)
Move Object [100] Rank 3
Modifiers: Ranged [+50], Self/Other [+25], Removable [-50], Limited (Only on Solid Objects) [-50]
A cable attached to a grapple, which Doc can throw. It can be thrown around an object, and move the object to the Doc, or move the Doc to the object. Despite how sharp the grapple is, it does no damage.
Skill Group: ALL BUT ONE PHD (300 Essence)
Thanks to the clone of Benjamin Franklin and one minor time traveling accident, Doc was able to compile the knowledge and expertise required for almost every single PhD in the world, including the weird ones specific to his world (Occult Studies, Extradimensional Medicine, so on). He is missing Agriculture, though.
Master Skill Rank 6 [50]
-Medical
-Humanities/Science (Biology)
