Malevolent Missionary - Nella is overjoyed to be representing Lord Sartan and His religion of Evil. She is often jittery with childlike glee. She is happy to impart Cruelty on others, improving them through violence as much as she is happy to convert others through sharing hymns and prayers.
Physical Description:
She is an insectoid woman. A dull brown carapace covers her body, wood-like around her segmented limbs and softening to a leathery texture on her torso. Her spindly arms extend down to the midpoint of her needly legs. Drooping uselessly from her back are two malformed wings, the papery appendages tattered and holey. A translucent brown-red fluid coalesces in the wings' tears. At the juncture of her head, neck, and shoulders, a soft layer of white setae protects her body beneath the exoskeleton. An escarbuncle has been branded on the right side of her neck where her skin is protected neither by setae nor carapace. Her black eyes are glassy and dominate the upper half of her rounded face. While her mouth and nose are humanoid in shape, they are much smaller in scale. White bangs end just above her eyes, and two straight locks frame either side of her face. The rest of her hair is lopped into a makeshift bob, curling upwards at the ends. Long feathery antennae sprout outward from her temples, arcing elegantly to either side.
Character History:
Nella has little memory of her younger, larval stages as an insectoid being. Her memory truly begins when she was 18, when she awakened in a damp pygmy lair, severely concussed. Upon making her daring escape, she wandered the land of Achaea. Nella was immediately drawn to the City of Evil, Mhaldor, where she took up the bonds of slavehood in devotion to the God of Malevolance, Lord Sartan.
Nella fell for the religion of Evil - the drive for Perfection through discipline and pain. She embodied the tenets of it, imposing cruelties on others, weathering hardships, and training relentlessly. Her pure devotion to Lord Sartan manifests itself most notably in the hymns that she writes, to perform for Mhaldorians in the cathedral or on the battlefield.
Her relationship with Lord Sartan leans pure and paternal; her devotion is with joy and love of Someone Nella believes to be the greatest hope for sapient life. She has traveled to spread the word of Lord Sartan, bringing hymns, prayers, and Evil to the Crossroads.
