HITMAN SIMULACRA FOR HIRE

SIMULACRUM INDENTIFIER: REVENANT

SYSTEM SOURCE CODE: APEX LEGENDS

OCCUPATION: Freelance Assassin
(& Serial Killer for 'fun')

Originally human, Revenant was the greatest hitman the Mercenary Syndicate ever had. He was left totally unaware (due to nefarious means) when Hammond Robotics transferred his mind into the shell of the robotic killing machine he became. When his programming eventually failed and all his suppressed memories came rushing back, Revenant swore to kill the people that made him into the Synthetic Nightmare, no matter how far he had to go. It was only once he realized he'd been trapped in synthetic flesh for over three centuries- his frankenstiens all long dead- that his quest for revenge would prove fruitless. Dismayed and furious he instead now pours his energy into reveling in death once more as a hitman for hire. He has kept this as his sole goal even after being pulled into the Crossroads.

His lust for blood and revenge knows no bounds, which is why the Death Games had caught his attention. Upon being absolutely humiliated by the suave and infinitely infuriating Karl Jak during the final showdown, he finds himself coming online once more, this time in yet another unfamiliar and strange place...

SYNTHETIC NIGHTMARE

Revenant is a synthetic, utterly inhuman in his drive for efficiency and ability to survey a situation and make on-the-fly adjustments in order to maximize the damage. He is driven and has an iron will due to his programming that refuses to let him step back from killing for any extraordinary lengths of time unless incapacitated.

He is also a nightmare, a terrible, bloodthirsty and sadistic creature of code and metal. His goal is to kill and while he does focus on efficiency in order to eliminate groups, he deeply enjoys the hunt and the thrill of the kill far more than anyone has any right to- going as far as to taunt dying opponents and mock surviving family members endlessly.

Physical Tendencies:

  • Power(P): 15%
  • Toughness(T): 25%
  • Quickness(Q): 30%
  • Skill(S): 30%
Personality Tendencies:
  • Aggression(A): 50%
  • Cunning(C): 40%
  • Diplomacy(D): 10%
  • Support(S): 0%
Revenant is cold, and callous. He will always refuse to acknowledge attempts to help with any form of thanks, and seems genuinely incapable of displaying empathy, love, warmth, compassion or least of all, gratitude. He is never thankful and consistently uses others purely for his own personal gain. He enjoys bloodshed, suffering and pain, but he is first and foremost professional and efficient when it comes to killing- not being the type to typically drag it out longer than it would take to make a quip or two at his downed opponent before fully taking them out. He is merciless and ruthless when it comes to achieving his desired goals, willing to kill any and everyone who gets in his way.

Possible Reactions – Revenant is a character who seems to keep his composure even when faced with deathly overwhelming situations. He's died countless times before and he remembers each instance. He does not fear death, but will not needlessly put himself in dangerous places unless the reward clearly outweighs the risk. He would probably find moralists to be tedious, optimists to be obnoxious and 'funny guy' types to be endlessly annoying.

He's reserved unless otherwise snarking or condescending towards whoever has offended him. He is impatient and does not care for people wasting his time, and would likely walk away (best outcome) or if they're being tiring enough, kill them (more likely). He is typically not interested in teaming up unless the other person is useful. He will not turn back to pick up an ally if it's not beneficial. He is likely to betray allies if they're more useful as a meat shield, or leave them behind if they become injured- unless he requires them being alive for some ulterior purpose.

Revenant is an incredibly seasoned mercenary hitman, even as a human he was viewed as being incredibly talented in that particularly unsavory field. This fact is only heighted to new extremes when one realizes that the entire point of his Simulacrum form was to further improve his skillset as an assassin. He is quiet and calculating, communicating only when needed to his team mates. Typically he tries to gather as much information on targets prior to engaging with them, either through observation or prior experience and research. He is comfortable with close, medium and long range weaponry, though it should be noted that he has a certain preference for up close and personal, intimate eliminations.

QUOTES
  • "Your championships are as meaningless as you are."
  • "That little voice saying there's still hope? It's lying."
  • "When it all goes dark, you don't wake up anywhere else."
  • "Scream. Make sure everyone can hear you."
  • "You skinsuits and your whining. Enough already." (When asked to group up by team mates)
  • "Lava there. Why don't you dive in and see if it burns?"
  • "First blood. Tastes like copper and honeysuckle."
  • "I'm not thanking you." (When thanking a team mate)

RELATIONSHIPS

BLOODHOUND - Naïve moralist. They think that there's some moralistic high ground that can justify their kill count; disgusting, but I have to recognize the Hunter's talents in tracking. Useful, only kill them if they start trying to preach about the All-Father again.

DR. CAUSTIC - A pretentious windbag. Killing is a job- not some grand artistic endeavor. I don't give a damn about any supposed purpose. It's all just frivolous and wastes my time. Only sometimes useful. Kill if he starts monologuing.

KARL JAK - Sociopathic CEO of Syntech. That purple suited bastard crawled out of the grave to spite me and ripped victory from my hands. I'm going to make sure that I repay the favor to him, eventually.

MIRAGE - The tragic class clown. He's certainly plenty of fun to scare. I almost killed him in that Carnival Rosa Game, almost got to extinguish that stubborn, stupid light of his. I'll have fun finishing that job.

PATHFINDER - Tedious robot, obnoxious optimist. Helpful at getting around. Partnered with him during the Carnival Rosa's Death Games, and outlived him. That scrapheap made me a lovely red friendship-garrote though. Useful. Do not kill on sight.

WRAITH - A woman almost as tortured as I am. I know how the voices of overlapping, fighting realities can drive someone insane all too well. Maybe she deserves a mercy kill.

Revenant is a Synthetic Nightmare, a simulacra of what he once was. Due to his sturdy mechanical body he does not take damage as often as normal humans would, as his normal squishy mortal organs have all been replaced by internal circuitry. He is immune to a wide array of situations that would hinder humans. Even when disarmed he has the ability to do damage via his bare hands; his hard metal fingers lengthen and lock together in an unforgiving spearhead used to pierce right through the basic body armor, bones and soft flesh of his human targets. His extensive training as a hitman has given him the necessary agility to react and dodge accordingly in combat.

Mercenary Syndicate Contractor (100 E)

Communication: Wireless Uplink (100)

Revenant is a member of the Syndicate, as as such has built in access to various hitman-for-hire databases ran by the entity. This includes the ability to also communicate wirelessly with other devices that he either already knows about, or are relatively unsecure.

Revenant can crouch walk as fast as his normal walking pace, and can also climb higher walls quicker than normal folks. He does not take damage from falling as he has shock absorbing chassis located in his feet and ankles that cushion his impact.
