Source: OC

Character Behavior:
Xander is a Smug Rogue

He enters fights already thinking he'll win, and if he doesn't, he just bails himself out with his many tools. If that isn't an option, he'll do his best to come up with something on the fly, but he won't lose his smirk, as if everything had been part of the plan all along. Only against raw injustices does he lose his cool, but he's not that interested in playing the hero either.

He prefers deception over strength, and only starts fights if he has to, save exceptional cases.

Character History:
Xander used to be a regular teenager. He was relatively popular in high school, hanging out with the “cool kids”, but he knew they really weren’t his friends, yet he kept staying with them. When he graduated from school, his life became aimless. He didn’t want to study anything in particular, and none of the “friends” he made in school remained in his life, so he was alone, in his arcadian apartment, playing video games all day. His father had asked him many times about getting a job or doing something with his life, but Xander always gave the excuse of “still looking for a job, but they keep ghosting me” to him, which he seemed to buy. But Xander didn’t know what to do in reality.

However, that way of living got cut short when, at some point, thugs broke into his apartment. Xander was playing his games, but when he heard the noises, he went to investigate. The thugs were people he knew from school – the “bad kids” he was told multiple times to never interact with. They were inspecting every creak and box they could find, but as soon as they found Xander, they surrounded him, took away his phone, and asked him at gunpoint, “Where is the watch?!” Xander assumed they were asking about the golden pocket watch his father had gifted him a few years ago, a clock that never worked, which he couldn’t tell why they would know about it, but he kept pretending he didn’t know what they were talking about.

One of the thugs went to his room, and came out of it with the clock, the “Timeless Watch” as they called it. The thug with the gun yelled at Xander for lying to them, and pulled the trigger. Through the pain and his vision turning black, he watched the thugs leave the apartment. Xander wanted to scream, but his voice never came, trapped into the deepest cracks of his dying soul, growing weaker as minutes passed, until he could no longer see, no longer hear, no longer feel his body.

Xander had died that day, taking days for someone to even notice the crime scene, but his ghost never left. It was bound to the apartment, forever trapped in his last moments, wanting to scream, but not being capable of. He wanted to throw everything on the shelves, flip the table and chairs, drag his fingernails into the wall, but to no avail. He had no mouth to yell, no arms to move the furniture, no nails to scratch. He wanted to cry, to tell his father how sorry he was for being a failure, for lying to his face, and for losing the watch he had given him as his 16th birthday gift. But all he could do is wallow in his own agony.

Time passed. Xander couldn’t tell how long, but one day, his father came to the apartment. He was holding a jewelry box, and upon opening it, he took a beautiful rose colored necklace. His father raised it to the air, and tried calling for Xander to pick the necklace. But Xander’s ghost could barely hear him through his own agony, and he was too scared to interact with his father. As much as he wanted to hug him, he couldn’t bear the weight of his fate, nor imagine what his father had gone through all this time.

After asking Xander to pick the necklace to no avail, he eventually left it over the table, and he went away.

The necklace laid over the table for a while. Until Xander finally found the strength to try to pick it up. To his surprise, he could interact with it, his ghostly sense of a body becoming real as he commanded it to take the necklace. He could first feel his arm, his torso, his legs, his face.

And it was painful.

All he could do was scream for a while, finally giving release to all his pent up frustrations. He screamed, and cried, and screamed again, until there was no more voice left, no air to fill his lungs.

He put a hand over his chest – there was no heartbeat. Yet, he felt alive. He had a body to move, to feel. But when he left the necklace back over the table, his body disappeared once more. He put the necklace over his head, resting it on his neck, to allow its power to keep his body to be real.

But there was only one thought on Xander’s mind – he was gonna find his asshole ex-school mates, and he was gonna take that watch back.

Affinity: Lucky

Master Skills:
-

Abilities:
Corporeal Ghost (300)

-Adaptation
--Need to breathe (200)
--Starvation and Thirst (50)
--Need for Sleep (50)

Xander is a ghost, although he has a magic item that gives his body form. Still, he doesn't need to do many of the activities that living beings must do.

He does bleed when hurt, but the blood turns into a red-ish smoke when poured.

Illusory Disguise (1200)
-Illusion (Visual, Sound) 4 (1000)
--Ongoing 4 (400)
--Limited (Only on Xander’s own body) 4 (-200)
--Limited (Only humanoid shapes) 4 (0)

Xander can render his form into a myriad of humanoid shapes, as well as imitate any voice. To truly disguise himself as a particular person, he’ll need to observe them enough in order to imitate them, but for the most part, Xander can make up his own disguises and use them for as long as he wants to. Even falling unconscious won’t break them, although they can be identified as fake by acute senses.

Spectral Dagger (600)
-Damage 2 (200)
--Ranged 2 (100)

-Debuff 2 (200)
--Ranged 2 (100)
--Ongoing 2 (200)
--Finite 2 (-100)
--Limited (Only on living beings) 2 (-100)

A dagger with a rose colored blade. Its blade has the property of switching between a corporeal and incorporeal form at a thought command, changing what effects it has on what it hits.

When corporeal, the dagger works as a regular one, slashing and piercing its target as one would expect from such a weapon.

When incorporeal, it phases through what it hits, rendering it useless as a damaging weapon, but when the blade is inside a living being, it disrupts their ability to move, inducing a paralysis on the affected area. This effect lasts as long as the blade is inside the target, and it quickly weakens once the blade exits their body. Those with particularly strong endurance may be able to resist the paralysis.

Xander doesn’t carry this weapon, he summons it whenever he needs it. Because of this, if he loses it, he can always take it back to his hands. Using this mechanic, he can reliably throw the dagger and summon it back if he wants to.
