There was a terrible roar as the central plaza of the unmade city erupted.

A fist tore cleanly through the dense material as the entire island started to once again sink into the ocean. Soldiers and sailors screamed as the large island was consumed by the frothing oceans. With the influence of Nausicaa abating, the bonded combatants felt themselves returning to their normal scale and stature, even as they found themselves scrambling to find solid earth to stand upon.

Through the haze, their was a beastial roar that shuddered the spines of the still-living.

Up from the depths.

200 meters tall.

The thoughts Ridley and Phantoon had shared were dashed in an instant, as a calamity struck the island, and the whole area rumbled. The earth cracked and buckled, leaving Phantoon off-balance, as Slayer division disappeared in a loud Vrumm of engines running.

Ridley would give the little skulkers credit - they had a talent for running to and from trouble. They’d decided not to give the opportunistic space pirate time to ‘accidentally’ cause a few deaths between them on the way out.

Something else quickly took both Phantoon and Ridley’s attention, though, as the Eldritch abomination swelled to its usual, incomprehensible proportions. Stardust overtook the buckling earth as Phantoon’s body grew rapidly, and his bulbous head once again stood high above the buildings around them.

Similar glimmers around them appeared, shifting figures as the once hidden figures of Krampus, Sam, Gojipool and Nothing There swelled to full size, dwarfing the now-broken districts they stood in. The four giants' re-entry to their full size didn’t draw a wink of attention, though. That belonged to the creature that broke through the center of the island like a chick cracking an eggshell, pulling itself up one claw over the other, and the primal, fear-inspiring roar that echoed across the landscape.

The stomping giant was magnificent, a reptilian monster that towered above the broken landmass with a horrific magnificence, even as rotting pieces pulsed with dark energy.

Hey, it’s the OG!” Gojipool called out unhelpfully.

Ridley was far too focused on the Aberration to the natural order as the spandex-clad clown, as a shiver went up even Phantoon’s body. A primal force, covered in slick, glowing darkness that almost hurt to look at, yet the truth of it’s power was still there.

Of all the monsters Ridley had faced, this one seemed to be the apex. A king, as he was, a beast who sat atop the throne by it’s stare, but that confident stare was polluted by Darkseid’s own cancer, just as Ridley’s once was. An inferior being, to be caught in his trap, and yet…

For the first time, even if for an instant, Ridley felt hesitation.

Phantoon’s voice cut into Ridley’s psyche, breaking through the space pirate’s thoughts.

What are your orders, lord Ridley?

RIdley’s response was harsh, raspy, as rage replaced that anxiety - nothing challenged the God of Death, even in such an arena, and got away with it!

“Crush him. Down to the last miserable cell.”

The streets of Nausicaa splintered and cracked as the Krampus burst through them, returning to its ‘normal’ size. Fries held on tight to the scruff of his monster’s neck, weathering the impact of the occasional marble slab as he found himself higher and higher in the air. The Krampus scrambled for purchase as it climbed onto the crumbling streeets of the city, which did not stop crumbling on their account — even as it found itself fully out of the tunnels below, the remnants of the once-idyllic island town cratered to return it there.

As Krampus struggled, Victor saw it. The towering, hulking mass of lizard snaking its way onto the city shore.

“Krampus,” Victor muttered, leaning close to the goat-demon’s ear, “look.”

The monster looked up to see Godzilla rising to his full height. It recognized the glowing strains of unmade corruption coiling around its limbs, the dead eyes giving way to a bright blue shine as it stared down those who would seek to stand against Darkseid’s will. It reminded them both of the creature they’d faced at the cabin, but instead of the camp accouterments that adorned it — the hockey mask, the machete, the creepy sound effects — it wore the telltale signs of the Fallen Arbiter’s thrall.

Memories rushed to the front of the Krampus’ mind. He could feel, once again, Darkseid’s grip around his throat — not just literally, but the feeling of being choked constantly by him, of suffering under the weight of his expectation at every waking moment. Fries, his bond with the Krampus fully restored, could feel those feelings as well, could almost see the Krampus’ origin right before his eyes.

He saw its birth into Darkseid’s company. He saw the jolly old man who’d saved it — somehow — and become the second signatory, breaking Darkseid’s chains.

Victor blinked. The Krampus had been trapped, held still for potentially generations by an unbearable evil, something worse than death. His Nora… death was all that threatened her. He’d managed to hold it off for this long, so… if this beast could somehow conquer something as all-powerful as the will of the Fallen Arbiter, why shouldn’t he be able to push cold death aside for Nora? She could reclaim her right to life, and he could reclaim his heart.

The memories of darkness have way to something more joyful and happy. The Krampus’ job had been ugly, but it’d enjoyed it, it’d been appreciated. As the second Signatory brought gifts to good children of the Crossroads, someone had to be waiting in the wings, ready to terrify and impart paltry favors on the naughty ones. He could see the Krampus tossing piles of coal at the foot of decorated pines, then slipping back out of the chimney to travel further with the Signatory.

Fries watched as even that happiness, too, had to end. He watched as the Krampus sunk into oblivion, curled up in his cave until he’d been brought here.

He looked at Godzilla, once undoubtedly a magnificent monster, reduced to… this.

It made him sad.

It made the Krampus very angry.

The beast leapt into the air, tired of chasing a spot to stand on the crumbling streets. It lunged for Godzilla, tackling it in the shoulder and sending it careening back into the ocean. Fries’ helmet protected him from the water’s lack of oxygen, but the Krampus could feel it’s lungs straining as it wrestled with Godzilla beneath the waves.

“Let it go!” Fries shouted.

You do not command me any longer, the Krampus snarled, kicking a knee into Godzilla’s gut. The monster roared with fury.

“No — I’m not commanding!” Fries pleaded. “He had the upper hand here! He’s going to — ”

Victor’s warning came too late, as Godzilla’s tail wrapped around the Krampus’ waist and lifted its weakened body out of the water, flinging it back into Nausicaa proper. The beast and its bond crashed into a building, totally leveling it, then scrambled to their feet.

“We’re — hk — we’re partners now, Krampus,” Fries coughed. “Listen to me, please.”

I will rip Darkseid’s corruption out of that thing if it is my last act in this universe, the Krampus growled. Fries could feel the creature’s fury, could feel it inching closer to the edge where it lost control of itself — and then he felt it slide.

And I’ll need your help to do it.

Victor smirked. “Then let’s teach this thing to chill.”

The Krampus launched himself forward, the Mythological creature attacking with wild abandon as the King of Monsters was briefly driven off his feet. An attack of mythological proportions, yet it was dwarfed by the power of the beast before them, as he was driven under, then out of the waves onto the crumbling islands.

Godzilla advanced on the two, but Victor and his bond were more prepared now, retreating whilst firing off a barrage of coal to annoy and irritate the beast.

As though it was rehearsed, Nico’s bond took the opportunity to strike from behind, as a barrage of ridiculously oversized bullets struck the beast from behind, the black slime it produce burning and steaming against the radioactive beast’s skin as Sam’s fire distracted it.

A roar of pain seemed to punctuate this combined barrage, as Ridley’s next move was to direct Phantoon towards nothing there, and Lilith, to her credit, seemed to already know she was needed as nothing there bounded towards him in great strides.

“Lilith. We need to close in.”

Nothing there manifested a set of eyeballs on it’s fleshy body to look at Ridley, then another set to observe Godzilla.

“Phantoon can’t really do the swimming thing though, right?” She asked.

“Correct. Nothing there, however…” Ridley would note, trepidation in his voice as Phantoon spoke up,

Ridley, what is going on-

“Drop us on top of the beast.”

PHantoon’s eyes widened as far as they could go as Nothing there responded, entwining Phantoon’s limbs in strings of fleshy material to keep him from slinking away as he bounded into the air, the eldritch monstrosity screaming impotently as Ridley’s control over the bond stopped him from actually freeing himself.

Ridley, this is ridiculous-

“I am sure you can handle it, General.” the Pirate general replied with a tone of amusement, as The two flew high and above the battlefield, the aerial capacities of nothing there practically unimpeded by the weight they carried, as they were carried in the air.

They had suffered enough humiliation during the mushroom stages. Ridley was fine with just a little more to crush Darkseid’s newest champion.

They reached an apex above the crumbling island, as Nausicaa began it’s return to the sea, and Ridley waited until they were straight above godzilla.

Now! Down!” Ridley Cried out with a feral energy that was paralleled by Phantoon’s panicked “Nooooo!

“Of course, Master!” Lilith enthusiastically cried, as Nothing there started chanting gibberish about fastball specials and batting averages. The fleshy beast stood straight up, a feat impressive when Nothing there had Nothing There to stand on several hundred meters above sea level, and threw Phantoon by the head, rocketing him down like a meteor with a Full pitch.

Flames billowed across Phantoon’s body as the Violent swing filled the beast with rage, and as the Eldritch beast tumbled towards Godzilla, who had been chasing down the Agile Krampus through the few tumbling buildings left, Phantoon struck with a thrust of Azure flame dancing along vicious claws of energy, and stabbed deeply into the Armored plates on the King of Monster’s back.

Godzilla struck back with a vicious swipe of his tail, and fortune was with phantoon as the blow threw him into the remnants of a Nausicaan hospital rather than straight into the drink, but the great beast’s problems were not over as a flotilla of missiles shot by Sam - with a “Woo!” from Nico that somehow cut above the explosive ordnance Loudly battering the unmade beast - left the creature Pinned, pulling up a reptilian hand to stop the armaments from piercing.

Which left him open as A bundle of birch struck straight into Godzilla’s eye, Krampus and Victor seeing their moment as Naughty slammed Godzilla’s cranium hard enough to shake the island from the impact, leaving Phantoon on unstable ground.

Blood spurted from the impact, and as Phantoon looked, he saw a bleeding hole where one of Godzilla’s eyes used to be.

The foe was powerful, beyond strong. But he was surrounded by three vicious titans. Four, now, as Nothing There descended into the fray with a vicious hammer blow to Godzilla’s forehead that left the beast stumbling backwards. Watching the assault, Ridley wondered if he hadn’t overestimated the foe.

“Finish him off, phantoon!” The tyrant spat, and Phantoon felt no need to argue Ridley’s over-excited lack of manners, as a feast of life energy seemed to be laid out for him on a silver platter. The moment seemed perfect, as Godzilla’s energy was spent.

It was not to be.

Godzilla’s body began to glow, darkness covering his body - or, blackness. The very features and look of the King of Monsters, from his eyes to his tail, grew indistinct for a moment, as his body was wrapped in a strange blank nothingness.

Worse was the feeling after that, however. A weight that gripped Ridley in his core.

The Dragon’s body was heavy as it had been once before, as his link to Phantoon felt distant.

Welcome home.

The paralysis that gripped the Pirate King’s heart was punctuated by the sheer pain and agony he felt as Godzilla’s eyes flashed, and the four were baked in the power of an unmade Nuclear pulse.

Nothing there was ripped briefly apart, body parts exploding and remaking, but sent skyward, while the other beasts on the rapidly sinking island were left paralyzed - either by their bond’s hesitation, or their own as the Three were grappled, and sight left Ridley.

He understood, dimly, something else itched in his mind, as darkness gripped his sight, but Godzilla’s face was all he could see. Godzilla, and the void, and something behind it.

Rage burned impotently, as he felt the familiar weight against his mind. Darkseid’s call. Memories coming back to the fore as he saw his temptations, not with words, but with images. Reminders of his victories as a general. Of the shedding of blood and breaking of armies. Other memories, memories he had not seen but felt before, images of scratching apart his skin, the pain of ripping himself asunder, the knowledge that he had done it with but an errant whim of Darkseid’s power.

Every bit of Ridley’s pride and anger were prepared, as he snarled and fought against this intrusion. This was not the first time he had fought against this intrusion, and he was far more prepared as he felt the unmaking brush against his mind.

Yet, even with that preparation, it was all he could do to buy himself seconds against the mental potency of Darkseid’s sweet lies. He could feel the roof of his mind cracking, the beams straining against the sheer violence of Darkseid’s tainted power - not an energy, or a power, one could contend with, but a numbness that stole the thought and tainted the will to live.

Ridley was fighting against an ocean, and even as his hatred for that ocean mounted, his frustration and will battering uselessly, he was sinking.

Ridley!

Like a knife, Phantoon’s voice cut through the silence, as another presence touched with his own. The Ocean had not receded, but he felt his head, metaphorically, pulled above water, only barely.

“Phantoon?” The Space dragon spoke, as a dim awareness struck him. He could see the situation they were in, dimly, through Phantoon’s eyes, though it was gray, darkened, as though he was looking through the blinds of a curtain.

Tendrils held himself, Sam, and Krampus in place, darkness that held them above the ground, and Godzilla was busying himself with holding off Nothing There’s furious assault in the meantime, though the details were dim from his vantage point.

Hang on! Or you will rejoin him.” Phantoon called, as His mind wrapped into Ridley’s, the two’s minds touching as the Space Dragon grabbed on. And yet…

The bond was frayed, and Ridley could feel the chain links between them weaken. Because of a lack of will? No…

It was a lack of something else. A slack on the chain, as the two pushed against the wall of unmade energy.

Ridley!” Phantoon called out again. “Grab hold!

RIdley’s response was a violent snap. “Then tell me! And let your machinations be unfolded!” The Dragon responded, as the bond started to fray. “I am no one’s minion! Not Darkseid’s! Not yours! So why, then, are you here! Why bring me to this contest!”

Phantoon’s voice was silent, for a moment, even as the bond grew perilously thin, at risk of snapping. It didn’t matter. Ridley would have his answer, or he would damn them both. He’d done enough compromising in this miserable tournament.

...The medium of this place, that which I inhabit, is vulnerable. Broken. Ripe for the taking. Darkseid’s power permeates even my realms. I am mighty, but I am no leader. I do not organize. I consume. I eat.

Ridley’s anger spoke silently for me. “So I am your pawn.”

I don’t seek the power you do, Ridley. I lack the need, the want. But this world is without a king, and Darkseid has taken the throne. I knew you, Longer than you have. Watched as the timeless watch.
I foresaw what this conflict would make of you. Not a servant. A warrior. An Usurper. One who would take
his throne. And one who would have a place for my indulgence. I brought you here so you could create a universe. One greater than even Mother Brain had promised for me.

“And why mine?”

Because it will have room for me to thrive.

Silence followed, through the link, as the dragon considered, and the cord started to fray. Then, Energy surged through the link, as RIdley grabbed on, and the two Once again could see the physical world around them, The tendril that gripped them now strained by their renewed struggling.

Ridley looked around, and to his surprise, both Krampus and Sam were alive and kicking, even as unmade energy surged around them as well. Their bonds had apparently held, and as the Tyrant King surged, he could feel their minds pushing against Darkseid’s power as well, feel them touching against his mind, vaguely.

Ridley looked to them, there was little reason to verbally communicate, as though shallowly, the depths of each mind was plumbed, and in truth, they all differed quite a bit. He could feel from Krampus’s depths that his was a mission of vengeance and redemption. For the Malefactor, it was freedom, and a bond beyond anything the beast had once known. For Ridley, it was payback and rage. Yet, as their minds touched, as the pain of the unmaking was easily felt between the group, there was a collective agreement, one that need not be communicated to them, but to Darkseid.

It stops here!

As Darkseid had linked them together, united them through his own tainted power, that link was used against him as the group pooled their shared mental energy, the beasts pushing back against the unmaking’s mental hold.
Godzilla let out a screech of rage, but it was not his own, merely his masters. The Darkness in thier minds had been pushed back, but the unmaking’s raw force still restrained their bodies, leaving them only in a deadlock until their temporary psychic advantage finally gave way, or Darkseid tired of unmaking them and simply chose to destroy the helpless Kaiju.

Yet Ridley recalled something similar, back on his first excursionto Nausicaa. The very first time he’d interacted with Lilith’s cursed energy.

A wordless smile filled Ridley, resonating through the temporary bond he’d shared with the others.

“Do as I do.” The old dragon growled.

“You have a plan?” Victor’s mind echoed in the link, and Ridley could feel the intellectual emanating from the mind of Krampus’s signatory.

“I have an attack.”

“Then I’m in. Let’s dice this fucker.” Nico’s own mind growled, as Sam added a noise that…

Well, Ridley would just take it as an agreement.

Krampus was the last, and his acknowlegement was a silent “Very well.”. Ridley could feel the strength of his spirit, knew the beast was one opposed to his anarchic presence…

But in this moment, they had a common enemy far worse than either,, and the Dragon was forced to admit that he was glad to have such a grim powerhouse on his side. But there was no more time for delay.

A scream bit from Ridley, as he grabbed the unmaking directly - not denying it, but holding onto it. Darkseid’s power flowed through him, but as he focused his mind like a scalpel, it did not stay there - As the tendril holding him pulsed and collapsed, violently shaking before breaking down.

The trio of Kaiju fell from their bonds with no small amount of determination and rage filling their eyes, as they stood, not in defiance to the Kaiju alone, but everything he represented.

Ridley’s eyes narrowed, as he fed Darkseid’s own strength through Phantoon, and then blasted it out, returning the darkness back to its source in a destructive blast. Krampus held out a hand, firing an identical blast all his own, and as Sam’s jaws stretched forward to reveal a cannon, it was joined by a third attack.

Godzilla’s unmade form, cloaked in Darkseid’s raw essence, did not step out of the way as the blasts struck dead on, Letting out a roar of defiance, and for a split second, he saw something else in the King of Monsters eyes. A flicker of life amidst the previously dead orbs, as it almost seemed to embrace the assault.

The shockwave blew apart numerous islands, and sent Nothing there flying back, as the Blast drilled against Godzilla’s chest, and the Beast was not just sent off his feet, but flying, as the Blast threw Godzilla like a child’s toy, into the waves below.

The Wyvern commander saw no evidence of Godzilla in the waves, and the overwhelming power he had felt from the beast before was gone, at least, but he doubted this was the end of the creature. The Kaiju trio had no time to confirm, either! The ground buckled as the island they were standing on accelerated it’s descent into the waves below, and Phantoon was saved a long, slow descent into the water by nothing there’s timely arrival, as Ridley beheld Lilith with a bestial expression upon her face.

“I got you, boss. This reptilian fuck is gonna pay!” the woman swore.

Ridley’s response was an affirmative snarl, as they scanned the waves below.

Used 1 focus for cheesy moment of firing unmaking energy back. If I have to use more for this nonsense let me know.

At the center of the risen city's flooded plaza, Lilith lounged atop the resurfaced wreckage of a long-drowned ship. Her presently enlarged bond was cushioned by myriad beds of rusted steel, lifeless coral, rigid barnacles, and slimy algae. The ruined vessel was unremarkable, bereft of whatever purpose it used to serve. She had no connection to it, and yet she couldn't explain why it drew her in. While she remained relatively dry in Nothing There's sinewy bindings, she immersed herself in deep contemplation.

Nausicaa. That's her best work so far. In this new universe. Lilith's most proud of that. She did fantastic. Ridley thought so too. Could she have done more? Could always do more. Always want to do better. Just a taste of her full potential. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't change a thing. Regrets. She accumulated a whole mountain in her unending life. Her slaughter isn't one of them. Improving, seeking more ambitious exhibitions, constantly. That's the nature of art. How would she innovate next?

Her rambling reflection came to a halt.

Ridley's ethereal aspect ascended from the sodden ground, towering above her as he should.

Lilith bolted upright, and the ship groaned in discomfort. “Master!” She scrutized Phantoon's fresh scars. “You're hurt… Can I take a look at your wounds?”

Ridley raised a sharpened finger. “Not necessary.” He could endure this prolonged adversity just fine. He wasn't sure what Lilith wanted from assessing his injuries, or how she would ‘help’, and he didn't intend to find out. As for his subordinate's condition… “We're nearing the end. Expend yourself carefully until then.”

Lilith twirled the black tendons that passed for her hair as she soaked in the dragon's every word. “Mhmm, I'll be careful.” Really, how could she be any more convincing? She was somewhat relieved that Ridley's bond bore the brunt of the suffering. Still, she hated seeing her leader harmed in any capacity, but damn did he wear his cuts and bruises with style. Being so worried about Ridley's damage, she completely neglected her own. Gashes adorned Nothing There's four main limbs, its flesh frayed throughout from the vile maggots that had burrowed inside.

While they waited for the other bonds to show up, Lilith and Nothing There absently stared at the murky water below. A twisted image returned their gaze. She saw herself in the creature, understood its desire to become something more. The two were monsters, and the worlds recognized them as such. But if Nothing There mimicked what it observed, was it so different from everyone else?

Lilith had other pressing questions, given her current opportunity. “What did you think of my solo performance here? Y'know, before this city came crawling back.”

“If you weren't in my way, I might've clapped,” Ridley replied.

“And when you took me under your wing?”

Ridley paused in consideration. “...You earned your rank.”

“Hmhm, I'll make plenty of art for you to apreciate. It's too bad we had to deal with the Unmade first…” Funny, that. It's what brought them together, but now it drove them apart. “What are we doing after we erase them, anyways?”

Phantoon's eye widened, impassioned sadism dripping from Ridley's lips. “We take everything the Crossroads owes us for protection - with interest.”

“Ahh, Master, I love the sound of that.” Nothing There's hearts collectively thumped within its chest. Something lingered on Lilith's mind, as she reminisced about her massacre. Do you ever feel remorse? It was silly to ask. Lilith hadn't tasted so much as an ounce in her time with Ridley. Though evidently, the dragon's past came to haunt him regardless.

On that subject… “So after all this is over, if it's cool with ya… I'd like to hear more about your home world. And maybe before I joined you too.” The image of Ridley refusing to divulge his previous DA experience flashed in her head.

“Depending on our success here, I'll open the possibility.” Ridley was always cautious with promises, especially with this woman. But if a few morsels of history was all it took to motivate his underling, then it'd be well worth the cost.

The 200 meter tall atomic terror. Godzilla. It was the fear of nuclear armageddon made manifest. What did it stand for now, stripped of its context and its reason for existing? It seemed to express rage and satisfaction in its violence, but these were hollow illusions of emotions. Beneath its exterior of rotted, sloughing scales, there was emptiness, a void occupied by the Fallen Arbiter alone.

Going toe-to-toe with the Godzilla would've been an exciting challenge, in theory. Not like this. Even so, the objective of Wyvern and its honorary members is certain. They must destroy what the bomb can not.

The King of Monsters reemerged from the encroaching ocean, even less skin than it had previously, but still intact. Perhaps its stench has deteriorated too, worse than a coastline of beached whales.

Lilith lashed at the behemoth lizard with jagged spine whips and launched enough bone javelins into its mass to make Caesar jealous. She concentrated on keeping its attention up high while the others wore down its lower half. Soaring overhead, she stomped its mangled face with a barrage of legs, only to be slapped away by a brutal claw.

The Butcher of Hope. The Skysnobs bestowed the title upon her. She was obligated to live up to it.

By the skin of your teeth, you’ll manage to beat back Godzilla, who can suffer some injuries but will withdraw into the depths to rest once again. You will all be too mangled to pursue, for what it’s worth.

Note: I know that Nico is nearly done with a post, but he's had some work stuff delay his effort. Please wait for him to post before anyone starts planning.

Phantoon suffers a Major Injury (or a Minor Injury, if you want to burn Focus – it’s your call)
Nothing there suffers a Major Injury
Samwise suffers an Insane Injury (pick an existing one or make a new one, it’s your call)
Krampus suffers a Major Injury

Sorry to do this to you all, but your group has until Saturday morning to write a resolution. This can be done by one person or each of you can post small posts. Please communicate. If you don’t plan to write, please DM/PM me your injury so I can shadow-edit this post.

You’ll win the prize – ‘Atomic Heart’ – it’s not exactly a heart, just something that must have been blown off from the creature. It can be held by one individual, so you’ll need to figure that out diplomatically or fight over it. Again, it’s your call. I’ll share the information with the individual.

If you opt – as a group – to decline this prize, you’ll all receive +3000 Coin

Phantoon gets +8 Points
Nothing There gets +4 Points
Samwise get +4 Points
Krampus gets +6 Points

It did not take long to realize this was barely even a fight. Peeking over the roofs of buildings and white capped breakers, Nico saw the slimy bastard. With their renewed size came a renewed hunger, and the shifting, cracking pavement must've sounded like something of a dinner bell to them. It was not difficult to figure out where they were headed, the entropic sounds of collapsing buildings and shaking earth heralding every step the monster took. The crashes were so violent that Sam could feel the direction the vibration in the ground was coming from as it traveled. Nico popped his head out of Sam's chest to say something, and for about the fourth time this season, really wished he hadn't. A dollop of drool the size of his head splattered 'em like a gooey raindrop.

"Ah, fuck! Shit, man, control yourself."

"Your job..." Sam hissed with a smile.

"Man, whatever," Nico growled, trying to get as much of Sam's spit out of his hair as possible. It was a futile endeavor. "I don't even know why I felt the need to come out here, I coulda just talked to you in my head or whatever neural link shit you got goin' on."

Nico sank back into Sam's chest, trying to get himself comfortable for the fight ahead. "You ever had gator?"

"Yisss..." came the response, somewhere within the bowels of the R3V3N63.

Nico blinked. He wasn't expecting that answer. "Huh. Well, I hope you got a taste for it. You 'boutta have it again."

-----

They were a black blur, another shadow traveling beneath the light, zipping between and across falling buildings. The big lizard was in sight, just a building between them and it. Clinging to the side of a falling apartment complex sign and using it as a springboard, Nico shot the two of them through the building, bladed limbs carving a path through glass and stone. Leaping through the other side, Sam found purchase along the giant creature's spine plates with serrated claws catching any scale he could grab, scrambling and scratching the decayed flesh like a rabid animal devouring a corpse of a predator much larger than it. The roar that came was loud enough to make Nico shudder, even from within Sam's murky depths.

"Whew," Nico muttered, taking a breath, "Just like MonsterHunter. Just like MonsterHunter."

And they began climbing. Several times pieces of rotted skin and scale would slough off the lizard, causing a bit of a slip, or the beast would rear back and waggle its ass, trying to shake them or scrape them off on a building like a bear does a tree.

"HEYYYY!" came a real familiar, if vaguely dinosauric roar. Gojipool crashed into Godzilla with a snarl, the two monsters short stubby arms grappling for control. The force of the tackle almost knocked Sam clear off the bigger lizard's back, but one claw was able to remain buried in dead lizard-fish flesh. He hung from the nape of the creature's neck like a weird pelt or cape.

"This town ain't big enough fer the two of us!" Deadpool drawled, forgetting that he forgot his cowboy hat.

With a grunt and a sneer, Nico willed their chassis further up the back of the lizard's head. After an amount of awkward struggling, they end up hanging on by the brow. The bottomless pit of the beast's wounded gaze seemed to shiver, undulate, full of a hunger that rivaled Sam and Nico's. It threatened to swallow them whole.

Nico and Sam had similar reactions to being threatened.

The piece of birchwood was still stuck in this thing's eye, and Nico knew just what to do with open wounds. He grabbed the bundled wood and twisted, jumped, hoping it would manage to hold their weight. Sam swung them around to perch them on the creature's nose. The malefactor stared at the swirling pool of primordial amber that was Godzilla's one remaining good eye, and knew just what to do with soft, squishy bits. His free fist became spike, and he jammed it in, screaming bloody murder.

Godzilla threw it's head back again and let one loose too, but Nico and Sam would not let go of the steering wheel, hands glued at two and ten. They pulled and pushed, trying make the creature's head bend to their will. A misguided decision - It did nothing but screech at them, stuck to the space between its eyes like a bug on the windshield. Sam pressed his forehead against the monster's and roared back at it. Nico screamed too, screamed until his vision gave way to glowing dots and squiggles. Distantly, he could hear the sounds of haughty laughter and stripped flesh. If it was his or Sam's, he couldn't feel it.

At some point, the tension in his arms goes slack, and he feels weightless.

The Quartet had been left in shambles, stumbling on their feet, gasping for air. In the aftermath of their fierce fighting, only one island remained, the scattered landmass broken, and Ridley was keenly aware that he and his allies were almost out of stamina.

The next attack was keenly set, with each of them knowing their role. Ridley would charge in first, using his size and relative durability to catch Godzilla’s attention, and then blink back out of existence once the beast started manhandling him. Krampus would then strike from the left - behind was a good way to be smashed with the King of Monster’s agile tail - Nothing there would attack from the right, and As Phantoon’s ghostly form moved safely out of tangibility, Sam would unleash a devastating barrage of missiles, and Phantoon would take advantage of the damage to carve straight into Godzilla’s chest with Phantoon’s claws.

It would have to work - already, there was a smattering of azure flamed leaking from a Wound in Phantoon’s shoulder, the ethereal energies losing corporeality and making it difficult for him to lift one arm. Had they not dodged that earlier blow, it might have come clean off… luckily, Ridley had managed to push them into gear one moment beforehand.

Ridley Leaped forward into battle, and Phantoon let out an unearthly shriek. Godzilla returned it with his signature war cry as the two closed the distance…

And then Godzilla, the unmade, undead king of monsters, Nausicaa’s grim reminder, had his head wrapped in a beam of nuclear fire. The effect wasn’t instant, but as the blast swept through Godzilla’s Cranium, the Beast’s head bulged, before popping like a microwave, covering Phantoon from head to toe and turning his body from a dark blue to a dark red. Godzilla’s body stumbled forward a couple steps, before collapsing back down.

Blood literally showered the group, as all of them turned to see Gojipool, head peeking out of the water as all eyes turned to him, ignoring the red rain now

What? We’re way past time for him to go down. You really think we were going to pull off a finale better than the evil Care bear stare? Talk about overstaying your welcome, guys.” Deadpool chided.. “And, by the way? Would’ve loved to be included in that. I can do the power of evil friendship too! Guess the Ice Queen just doesn’t like me anymore!

As the silence bent over the scene, Ridley chose to ignore the Clown of a Kaiju’s passive-aggressive blithering to phantoms - he was long since convinced the man was far too past sanity to be worth listening to, and had figured that out during his embarrassing capture two years ago…

No, Ridley’s pirate instincts had already activated, as he searched the Beast’s carcass. While everyone else focused on getting off the sinking island, he made sure to check the beast for whatever might have been responsible for it’s previous boost of power…

After a moment of Phantoon’s searching, both of them felt happy to know Phantoon lacked the ability to smile. It might have given away their spoils of war.

“Lilith.” Ridley snapped, as Phantoon stashed away the item. “We’re done here.”

Phantoon’s eyes widened, but his protests were smothered as Nothing there stashed the two under it’s armpit and leaped back towards the nearest aircraft carrier. The Kaiju as a unit returned to the Navy with what energy they had left, thankful for this breather before the final battle. Ridley's eyes were already on the future, schemes already forming in his head as they were informed of the barrier finally shutting down.

Nausicaa had been re-submerged. Now it was time to pick Darkseid’s operations up by the roots and purge him from Opealon, once and for all.

637 words. Ridley is grabbing the Atomic Heart and spending a focus to reduce the major injury to a minor injury.
