Character Behavior
Brass is a World-weary Spellcaster

By nature, Brass is driven by a few things - a love of hedonism, elves, Quiet, money and time-wasting. Despite this, her dwarven sense of duty and his well-developed sense of self preservation pop up when the drugs clear from her head and her cockiness is faced with reality. As a druid, Brass is always looking to preserve the division between nature and civilization, and to deal with the unnatural forces that twist it in a clear and easy fashion. Guilt from her failed duty in the world-that-was still drives her, and she's slow to make friends after the betrayals she faced. As a result she rarely looks for friendships - merely partnerships - in this new world. She is apt to make foolish bets or make awful decisions in the pursuit of coin, booze, or women, but she handles those situations with planning and a surprising amount of cunning once she's thrown herself into the lion's nest.

In combat, this strategic sense of Brass comes forward. as a druid with decades of experience and a load of battles under her belt, she has seen a lot of combat and plans ahead, utilizing her spells to give her advantage on the battlefield. while not incapable of defending herself in a fair fight, she rarely decides to risk her actual neck on such a risky proposition and uses spells to assure her opponents are as helpless as possible.

Character History:

Brass Brownbeard was born a fairly unremarkable dwarf in his hold in the four Kingdoms, Calling Soodin his home. Growing up as part of the Dwarven Basket weaver's guild, as did his father, and his father before that, left Brass feeling unfulfilled. worse yet, Brass was among the few select dwarves that grew up with a very disapproved of interest, one that lead to learning a new language and becoming a collector of disapproved works.

Elves. Even outside of the fact the sound of an elf Maiden's voice always made Brass's heart flutter, he actually had an extreme respect of the wood elven language, culture, and dedication to the preservation of life. Thus, when Brass was taking a stroll outside of his hold, smoking a pipe with no small amount of tobacco, holding a bottle of 150-proof and trying to enjoy his day-off after a difficult conversation with his least-favorite blacksmith to get a new letter-opener, he happened on an elven group of partiers, a very off-beat bunch of what he assumed were just a bunch of his kind of degenerate.

They greeted him in Dwarvish and were surprised to get a response in Sylvan, the wood elven language of the world. This motivated them to invite Brass to a party, and Brass, distracted by the very beautiful elves involved, gave a yes without a second thought, as he joined them in their revelry in the forests below.

What happened in the next forty hours after this is not completely clear to this day, but Brass awoke naked with no memory of the previous hours of time, an innate understanding of the druidic pact he had made, and a giant spider he was mentally bonded to curled up next to him.
It's worth noting spiders are Brass's least favorite bug.

After he and Simon, who he named after a human furnace operator who had fallen into the magma chasm years earlier in a vain hope that this might mark his animal companion to have a similarly short life, returned to Soodin, he found he had been banished for many crimes, including but not limited to peeing in the town fountain and poisoning it for years to come.

and the elves were nowhere in sight!

From there, Brass spent decades as a druid, bitter at his unwanted appointment, but driven by the dwarven sense of duty to do the work he'd taken on - to take care of nature and preserve harmony. He became a miserable dwarf, but a decent druid, for while he didn't really care for animals, or plants, or really anything about living in nature, he was still a dwarf, and being a dwarf means doing your duty.

Plus, living rent-free really let every coin you earned from adventuring go into the ale funds, and the wilds, he found, had all sorts of fun hallucinogens and mood-enhancers, with only the occasional bit of accidental true-sight showing him monsters from the veil every once in a while.

Eventually, solo adventures had stopped offering coin, and working with a group became preferable. Finding a spot inside the Sheperd's alehouse, he was soon recruited to a team lead by an up-and coming mercenary by the name of Wilfred, a halfling druid going by 'Tavi', and his recruiter, the half-orc with prodigious strength and an incredible juggling act, Hurlo Drees.

Many adventures were had, but their first - a dangerous foray into an old castle, which lead to the murder of a few dozen cultists and a lot of looting, lead to the gaining of the knife. A magical item Brass did not understand, and the shield, a cursed artifact he somewhat more wisely decided to bury.

Many adventures were had from there, evil druids defeated, rousing hunts gone on, Desert bandits dispersed, a war in Soodin started, and the same fountain peed in, Before Brass started to notice the greater evil going on. a mystical force known as the fade.

His first true contact with which scrambled his DNA and left him a her - an alien species from another world, and which deprived the dwarven queen of a priceless artifact. Brass likely would have been far more moved by the experience if not for the fact she still had a mountain-sized basilisk problem and a small-scale war to handle at the time.

These two things came to be less than important as it turned out Wilfred's knife was evil and turned him against the rest of the party for power, and they found they had accidentally opened a seal against monsters by moving the cursed weapons. One failed adventure later, the Knife was placed back into position to guard the world, but the shield had been broken by a monstrous being of the darkness between worlds. this culminated in Brass returning to deal with problems in the dwarf kingdoms, allowing Wilfred to finish up old business in the human lands...

Unfortunately, the power-hungry Wilfred found himself at a vampire's mercy within a few bad decisions, only to turn even that to his advantage, reclaiming the knife and the power of undeath to become a force of nature. A battle with an old friend decided the world, as Hurlo, Tavi and Brass turned their attention to their most important battle yet - one against an old friend.

Despite Brass's best spells and Hurlo's work, however, Brass succumbed to a blackened dagger midway through the fight - the soul-destroying knife - and made her peace with the end of her life, laughing just a little at how badly life went for her the moment she'd finally decided to take it seriously.

And yet, despite this, taking some solace in the fact Hurlo may yet still succeed where she had not, she instead awoke... here, in the crossroads, freezing her ass off in the snow-covered highlands of Erde Nona. A failure made complete, and reborn anew, missing much of her skills, and in dire need of a drink.

Abilities/Skills:

Cured Leather Armor:
Protection 2 (200)
ongoing (200)
Limited: Only covers the body, not the head (-100)
-Removable (-100)
A lighter armour, This Rhinoceros-leather hide is adequate for basic protection against most issues Brass faces in day-to-day. able to turn away basic weaponry with ease. though it is simply armor and takes no work to continue in it's protection, it is also simple armor, and may be removed from his person. It also has numerous weakspots, not covering Brass's head at all and leaving her neck unprotected as well.

Total cost: 200 essence

Shillelagh
Damage 5 (500)
-removable (-250)
Brass's main weapon is a simple quarterstaff, yet with just a touch even a bare quarterstaff becomes a focus for the power of nature - The weapon holds unnatural power and can break through even potent armor with a simple whack, despite Brass's relative physical Weakness. Like all such weapons, however, it can be taken from her, and even used against her in such a situation.

Total cost: 250 essence

Druidic knowledge:
Knowledge (animal handling) 5
Knowledge (soil) 5
Meditation 5
Knowledge (weather) 5
Knowledge (Ecology) 5
Total cost: 250 Essence

Brass is a druid of decades, and has learned a lot of information about the plants and animals around her. Which ones are deadly poisonous, which ones aren't, and which ones are just poisonous enough to allow you to get high. She's also learned quite a bit about the weather and the local ecology around her, able to tell at a glance the condition of a forest and, often, what needs to be done to keep it green - or, how to help it regain that greenery in a few decades. She has also learned to meditate in order to reflect on what is truly necessary - even if she also hates doing it.

The Spores circle:
Knowledge (fungi) 6
Knowledge (Decay) 6
Surgery 6
Knowledge (Insects) 6
Knowledge (wasp-keeping) 6
Total cost: 300 essence

Brass's circle is that of spores - the bringers of death, decay, and new life. the duties of the circle quickly taught him many things to balance this aspect of nature - knowledge of fungi, of how things decay and why in nature, what needs to be done to keep the forest in it's cycle of regrowth - for without this cycle, life's great cycle ends with a barren, lifeless rock. Brass has learned much of the insects that work in this regard, in particular growing to understand Wasps and hornets quite well. Surgery was learned dealing with this species too - for sometimes an animal's ailment disturbs the balance, and often careful work is needed to excise a parasite from someone in need.

Veteran's skills:
Knowledge (medicine) 5
Knowledge (dungeoneering) 5
Survival (monster traits) 5
Knowledge (Curses) 5
Knowledge (traps) 5
Total cost: 250 essence

Brass has been a druid - and an adventurer - for some 20-odd years. She has learned her share of medical knowledge that works for at least first-hand assistance, and also understands the average traps and pitfalls of a dungeon. Several common types of monster are common knowledge to brass, and even those she doesn't know, she tends to study obsessively, figuring out their key traits and weaknesses. Lastly, she has been cursed with so many cursed items, areas, and spells bringing themselves into her life that a blessing came of it eventually - that is to say, an extremely good set of knowledge on curses and how to avoid or circumvent them - or who to talk to in order to break them, if it comes to that.

Frequent tavern-goer:
Awareness 6
Deception 6
Insight 6
Persuasion 6
Business 6
-Weakness: Elves.
total cost: 300 essence

Brass has spent a lot of time in and out of a Tavern in varying states of inebriation and survived the experience only moderately more broke each time than when she went in. She is extremely aware and insightful, weighing another's words carefully even when she's seemingly too drunk to tell - this, of course, requiring she not just be too drunk to tell, which is the truth about half the time. she's also quite persuasive and fantastic with her tone regarding business, able to be professional and surprisingly charming...

until an elf walks in. Then Brass stumbles over her words, mumbles a bit, turns a little pink in conversation and overall has problems really reading the room, as she is far more interested in simply going along with whatever the pretty elf would like.

Expert Herbalist:
Knowledge (botany) 6
Knowledge (Alchemy) 6
Knowledge (Forestry) 6
Knowledge (Herb-lore) 6
Knowledge (Potion components) 6

Total cost: 300 essence

Brass has a command that only a true drug dealer normally has over the different plants and herbs of her areas. She knows what goes with what to make almost any potion one could think of and learned much of this by licking, sniffing, and touching many things one is better off not licking, sniffing or touching. This leaves her knowing what she can do with plants and other items, be it rocks or monster parts, to make various magical lotions and potions. She has also learned a lot about plants and trees in particular, to know where to find what she's looking for.

Though she draws the line at making anything out of people, that's not to say she doesn't have some concept of what you could make out of them either. Naturally, this also means she might be horrified at the results of certain people's work.

Circle of spores:
Damage 3 (300)
Ranged (150)
Indirect (300)
Limited: 20 meters (-150)

Total cost: 600 Essence

Brass is one with a colony of spores that endless follow her around, more than willing to appear out of seemingly nowhere from their spiritual bond and violently attack, growing into an enemy and literally rotting them to death, causing necrosis around affected areas. This effect is technically ranged, but the spores never stray farther than twenty meters from brass. however, her fungal children can find enemies with supernatural senses, even striking at creatures outside of direct lien of sight from brass if necessary, floating around corners to eat people alive. as of right now Brass can only make enough spores to effectively attack a single target without additional effort (such as focus) however.

Symbiotic entity:
Protection 5 (500)
Ongoing (+500)
Activation 1 (-250)
Finite (-250)
Total cost: 500 essence

Brass may call a strong colony grouping around her at any time, spending roughly ten seconds to do so, and then being protected by the horde from virtually any attack. Though this protection is against nearly anything, even protecting against the average psychic attack, it is finite, as the spores sacrifice themselves to hold back attacks, and can be worn down with enough concerted effort, at which point Brass must gather her druidic energies to revive them, then gather her focus to call them back to her protection.

Spore senses:
Sense (Extrasensory) 2 (200)
Ongoing (200)
Indirect (+200)
Concentration (-100)
Weakness (affects multiple (-50)
total cost: 450

Brass doesn't know how. Brass doesn't know why. She is fairly certain fungi are aliens as a result. but the spores constantly give Brass a sixth sense of the world around her, allowing her to sense things that have yet to come into her normal sight and leaving her with a surprisingly sharp sixth sense for danger.

Blindness:
Debuff 5 [blinded] - (500)
Ranged (250)
Limited: organic creatures (-250)
Concentration (-250)
One of Brass's specialties, She can utilize her natural druidic abilities to strike another being blind - so long as they are of a fairly standard biology, and so long as she maintains her concentration on it. the magical energies allow for complete blindness of the target, but don't allow for Brass to focus on similarly powerful spells until she lifts her focus on it - and at that point ,the creature can see once again. the blindness also only lasts a few seconds in Brass's weakened state before weakening and allowing the victim to see once again. and of course, if Brass can't concentrate at all, she certainly can't use this spell.

Total cost: 250 essence

Affinities: Gifted

Total Essence Spent: 3750

Couple of minor things:

Gifted doesn't strictly speaking specify in any way that every skill as part of a group need be the same rank, of course. But you got a couple cases of having one skill one rank off from the rest. And in one case, a rank 6 slapped in among a bunch of otherwise rank 5s (Druidic Knowledge), along with one skill you forgot to rank at all, which you also listed at only 250 for the group. Still gotta pay for the highest rank overall with Gifted, so get that math sorted out.

Other thing being: for Circle of Spores, the wording of it makes it sound like it can attack areas rather than just single targets. In such case, it'd need Affects Multiple. If that isn't the case, make note of it somewhere, and it's otherwise fine.

Everything else looks good to go, so do that bookkeeping and you're all set. I'll process your name/numbers changes in just a bit.

Those earlier group issues were just typo problems and have been fixed.

CoS has been updated to note it can attack only a single target at a time (until I can afford otherwise)
