This post sets the scene and doesn't count towards my total! Battle proper will begin with Suwako's first post.
“Found ya, pal!”
Suwako Moriya’s head turned quickly and craned over her shoulder, catching sight of the intruder standing on the opposite shore of the pond. He looked to be even more diminutive in size than the frog goddess herself.
Mickey Mouse knew he was at a disadvantage here; sure, he knew Kraw pretty well from the time he’d spent here before, but this locale was clearly Suwako’s turf. He’d never been much of an aquatic fighter, so he thanked Gosh that the body of water the girl was squatting in at least had some sizable lily pads and rocks scattered about it. The surfaces would help him stand on his own two feet in a fight against the little goddess.
The mouse king wasn’t much for violence, but in the aftermath of Dante’s Abyss, he’d found himself overwhelmed with a desire to bring justice to the Crossroads. Suwako, sitting pretty on a lily pad feasting on… well, whatever child-like frog goddesses ate, needed to answer for crimes during the games. Mickey and Arthur the Cowboy had been something like friendly acquaintances -- if not quite friends, yet -- as the knells of the death tournament were wrung out, and so when the little mouse found out the little blonde goddess had shot the friendly wrangler in cold blood, she’d risen to the top of his list.
And now, finally, he’d tracked her to Kraw, to this pond. He’d make sure when she left it again, she’d be leavin’ in ‘cuffs.
“A little mouse man!” Suwako grinned, spinning her body fully towards Mickey. Her wheat-blonde hair swayed in its pigtails and her long, frog-like tongue snaked out of her mouth as a giggle escaped her lips. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Mickey scowled, bending his knees and holding his right arm out to the side. A flash of white-and-yellow light burst from the air between his fingers and he grasped down on the hilt of his keyblade, narrowing his eyes at Suwako.
The frog goddess opened her mouth to speak, but the metaphorical gong had been rung: Mickey Mouse had already set off, yellow sneakers bouncing off of lily pads and battle cry exploding from his little mousy mouth as he dashed across the lake, determined to make the first move and start the battle off with style -- hopefully enough style to catch Suwako off her guard.
“I’m here to make you pay,” he growled, “for shootin’ that nice cowboy!”
Suwako laughed, more heartily this time. “Oh yeah?”
Mickey’s brow furrowed. “Yeah!”
