[Kagami]

A brief sigh. "You really like to make me guess, don't you?"

Now, she's wondering who the mom figure is but whatever it is, she's going have to brace herself.

However, now that they were nearing the exit, the cold draft from outside were becoming more noticeable which prompted Kagami to take her hoodie off her waist and instead wear it on her so she can have some format of warmness instead of dealing with the upcoming cold.

"Hmm, is she also a teacher or something like that? Just a wild guess."

 

[Sans]

* i think she is now, actually. nice guess, considering you don’t even know who she is.

Or maybe she did and wasn’t telling Sans. He hardly knew much about her outside of what her species was, some of her powers, personality, and why she was here in the first place. He felt like he was, to put a pun in it, spilling too many beans compared to her.

But if she knew much more than she was letting on…

He continued walking forward, the cold winds of Snowdin blowing through his hoodie like he was wearing a cape.

* so, where you from? i don’t think i got that. there beanish on erde nona?

 

[Kagami]

A nod. "Yeah, I mean, I'm from around here, silly bones, so there would be also others. You know the gist."

Even though she fibbed from Erde Nona and is actually from Nos'Talgia, part of her wondered about something about how long that fib would last. While the fact was that she was not ready to fully unveil her backstory to Sans since they just met recently, she had no issue with telling him about other things like puns and such to make it look she hasn't had any issues.

Before long, she perked up as she slightly leaned forward in curiosity, looking ahead of her.

"Anyways, we got a distance in this snowland ahead to cross."

The Beanish would be the first to step out in the frozen winter wonderland as she would put her hood back over her head before placing her hands in the central pocket. However, this has gotten her wondering especially when she looked a distance ahead of her, though she did see some buildings a distance away from her location.

"Okay so, where are we at now?"

 

[Sans]

* uh huh. i see.

He didn’t have any reason to think she was lying, but given her perfect guess as to Toriel’s occupation, he had grown increasingly weary of her and what she was telling him. Perhaps she was lying about where she had come from because she knew that telling him would make him suspicious of her? Who knew?

Soon, though, they stepped out into the snow, the powdery substance crunching beneath their feet. A thick fog enveloped them to a point that Sans had thought, against his better judgment, that they were in a blizzard, but he knew that no blizzards ever occurred down here. He squinted his eyeholes; he, too, saw the cabins in the distance.

* this is snowdin. it’s called that because it’s full of snow. neat, huh?

 

[Kagami]

"And another pun because it's clearly snowed in." she replied as she would make her way across the frozen cold with Sans. "Was it named that before or was someone being punny, decided that 'oh, we should name this area, uh, Snowdin' and the joke stayed around so let's leave it at that?"

The blizzard in itself wasn't pleasant but she had to keep her mind off the coldness as she was snickering. She hasn't seen a Beanish settlement on Erde Nona yet but the thing is that she believed, to an extent, there are potential settlements on other planets and Erde Nona does sound like an ideal sort of place away from the craziness of Nos'Talgia.

In fact, maybe some of the Beanish may had befriended the monsters from Mt. Ebbott and reside in their villages or something since they do love to be around company after all especially when jokes are involved and the likes.

Kinda like how she is getting along with Sans to a degree. Well, more so a like-dislike kinda ordeal.

 

[Sans]

* well, really, it's because our king was really bad at names. couldn't come up with a good one to save his life. i personally like it, though.

He continued marching ahead. * we'll be reaching snowdin town pretty soon. it had some cool stuff there too. grillby used to have a bar here that sold awesome burgers.

He was at least thankful that his flame boy Grillby always seemed to become a bartender no matter what dimension or timeline you entered. It warmed his heart, pun intended.

 

[Kagami]

"Oh right. Well, regardless, sounds like he has a silly side to him." she mused before she perked up, wondering, "So besides burgers, which I would like to try one day if it sounds that good, what happened around here? I'm sure it had been pretty active like the other places before everyone left."

They'd probably had snowball fights or something like that in this small town as a past time. She could probably imagine some of the kids doing that, chuckling and laughing, though, for her, she felt something else.

It was the sense of..loneliness.

While the winds would be blowing her hair from underneath her hoodie, her arms would be crossed as she continued to march on across the fog within the blizzard, drawing closer towards the former town's distance as another sight to see that was left behind. She didn't like the cold just as she didn't like the heat but she did enjoy New Home and Waterfall's environments better as they were in the middle.

 

[Sans]

* oh you know, the usual. we celebrated christmas, had snowball fights, politics. was a nice place to live before we all left.

Sans, meanwhile, felt nothing except nostalgia. He didn't have any real reason too; many a monster felt nothing but scorn for this place, for being trapped under here for so long. He, though, had found himself missing the snow-covered pine trees, the silvery river that led into Waterfall, the immense, white fog that covered the air like a cold blanket. And then, of course, he had always enjoyed the atmosphere of Grillby's back when it was still in business, with the jukebox banging out bangers and the hamburgers being as hot as anything Hotland could have produced.

 

[Kagami]

As Sans explained to her, Kagami nodded in understanding and before long, they would arrive in the abandoned town with the Beanish looking around the area. She could see several signs of places being relocated and the likes, including the local LIBRARBY, which caused her to perk up.

Wait.

"Isn't that supposed to be spelled as L-I-B-R-A-R-Y instead of that?" she chuckled. "Wow, that's gonna stick around for a long, long time and to be honest, I wondered who messed that up. I'm sure the monster who had that sign up was annoyed, just didn't care or something?"

 

[Sans]

* oh yeah. someone messed that up. i was told to fix it at some point. never did. besides, it gives this town a little bit of flair, don'tcha think?

He looked ahead from the Librarby to the small, round patch in the middle of the town. He remembered the various inhabitants setting up multi-colored gifts right underneath a massive, plastic tree that somebody had fished up from the garbage dumps in Waterfall. King Asgore had always made a point to come down as Santa and deliver each gift personally. He wondered if he was still doing that now.

He scanned the distance and grit his teeth. His house, Papyrus' house, still wasn't here. This still wasn't his Underground.

 

[Kagami]

"Well, congrats, it's there." Kagami replied with a tone of playful sarcasm. "Though, it's a shame that it's gonna be stuck there for the rest of its days, abandoned like the rest of the Underground. I almost pity the sign in a way."

Kagami wondered for a bit before she noticed that Sans was looking at an empty spot, causing her to tilt her head.

"Hey, uh, something special about that empty spot that has caught your attention there or what? Something worth the time to spend?"

Atleast for her and Sans, the blizzard was starting to ease up with the winds and the fog along with the fact that even though she didn't hear the running water, she can now. In fact, that's good news for her because it was cold and she's trying to keep warm.

If only she had a warmer hoodie, that would be nice for her because she does not want to deal with any other issues.

 

[Sans]

* heh. i think it's good. it's like we haven't left at all, really. it's a reminder of our history.

He gestured towards the empty spot. * and that right there is basically just where we got gifts for christmas every year.

It was around that point that Sans finally noticed Kagami shivering in the cold, Snowdin air. Evidently, the hoodie she wore was not enough to shield her from the chilling breeze.

* yo, need a coat?

Sans slowly unzipped his jacket and slid it off, revealing a white, fluffy sweater. If he was freezing, he wasn't showing it.

 

[Kagami]

Kagami was about to answer before she would sneeze and cover herself more as she was getting cold.

"I don't.." she replied before she sneezed again. "..it's not that bad."

While the Beanish was denying that something was wrong, the reality is there. She was feeling the effects of early signs of sickness which had her questioning how or why that this was happening but by how things are, she hurried on regardless as she wasn't going to quit right then and there.

"We're gotta keep going! We still have more to go!" she exclaimed as she would march on in the snow, hurrying along without Sans' coat.

 

[Sans]

He let her go for the time being. Judging by her sneezing and the blush in her cheeks, she was far from optimal health. It wasn't like she was going to keel over and die, but getting a cold wouldn't be pleasant for her either. Knowing her, though, she'd be far too stubborn to just let him put the jacket on, so instead, he was going to have to be stealthy about it.

He marched after her, keeping quiet as they passed through the town and headed deeper into a green, pine forest on a massive cliff-face that loomed over yet more forestry and distant cabins. As he walked, he pondered over what he could do and then, within a few moments, thought back to the strange teleportation that he had done back in Waterfall.

* heh.

His left eye turned from cyan to orange as he stared at Kagami. He felt the world shimmer around him before, within a split second, the world had turned black. It was, in every way, like he had just stepped through a door, literal or metaphorical, and came out in a new location.

This time, he found himself right behind her. The moment he processed that, he wrapped his jacket around the Beanish. He winked at her.

* gotcha.

 

[Kagami]

Kagami perked up and turned around as she felt the jacket on her. "What the- Sans!?"

Of course. The teleporting technique, which caused her to sigh in frustration, however, she should be grateful that someone is looking out for her to an extent, even while she was passing by the pinetrees, cabins and the other places in between.

She was sniffing a bit but lucky for her, Kagami would soon notice the large purple doors with the Delta Rune symbol on it and hurried forwards. However, when she would try to open it, the door refused to open and after she tried to do the opposite, it didn't work either.

"Argh! Stupid door! Why won't you open?!" she exclaimed in anger as she kicked it in frustration before she would sneeze again. "Dumb thing doesn't want to open either way! Is it because it's old or is something else stopping it?"

The Beanish really doesn't know what to do besides trying to find a hole or something but that resulted into nothing, however, eventually she would sigh as she would have to let go of the situation as annoying as is.

"Great. Well, I guess we're not going in there." she grumbled. "Unless.."

She looked back to Sans with a smile, asking, "Say Sans, aren't you gonna help me since you're here with me anyways?"

 

[Sans]

He shrugged. * i could give it a shot. these brittle bones won't be of much help, though.

He walked up to the door and gripped the handle. Both him and Kagami yanked back, trying to pull the door open, but the door refused to budge. It seemed like no amount of effort could force the doors to bend to their will.

He panted. * you know... i think this is a push door.

"Alright, so we push the door..." Kagami replied, moving to set her hands against the wood of the door's frame.

* nah, more like... you push the door from the other side.

"What?! How are we even gonna do that?!"

Sans remained quiet as he stared up at the door. Once again, he thought of his teleportation effect again-- he seriously needed a shorter term for it. Passage? Vacation? Hmmm...

* i might have an idea. wait here.

Sans immediately walked off to the side, moving to disappear into the forest. Once out of view, he looked back towards the door and willed himself to teleport again. The world blinked out around him and...

He was on the other side of the door, surrounded by purple corridors. It was like he had phased through the very walls of the Ruins like some sort of ghost.

* heh.

He pushed the doors open for Kagami, an obviously shit-eating grin on his face.

 

[Kagami]

Kagami noticed that Sans somehow made it to the other side and of course, was jealous of the skeleton. Despite the fact that she was more or so dealing with something, she kept going.

"You never cease to surprise me, but..thanks." the Beanish sighed as she would walk inside the Ruins.

However, when she did get in, she was feeling a tickle in her throat but refuse to addressed it as she walked onwards, telling that incoming sickness to bug off as she kept going inside.

"Well, if this is the final area, then we made it all the way through the Underground." she mused even though despite the fact that the sickness from being out in Snowdin's weather caught up to her.

However, as she would travel on down the long hallway, she would eventually see the staircase and after climbing, she would see the inside structure was akin to a house but it would seem that it was barren as well.

Though, regardless, it was a nice house, however, she kept on as she would take a look around in the area for awhile. It was almost like this place had an aria of a distant comfort, warm and welcoming home-like feel to it, something she never had felt before in an abandoned place.

This was very much different than the place she stayed at in Uncanny Valley where all there was an aria of desolation, sorrow, isolation and fear.

She was quiet for a bit as she took in everything from around her, walking around the place, checking the surroundings and everything for a bit while Sans wouldn't be that far behind her.

 

[Sans]

* yep. this used to be home, our first city down here in the underground. the city you saw at the start was new home.

Sans waved his hand about. * this house belonged to toriel back before we left the underground, i think. don't think i ever entered it myself before today, though.

He had to admit, the environment was quite cozy. He could definitely crash in here if he ever needed a place to stay for any particular reason.

 

[Kagami]

Tutoriel. Toriel. Okay, yeah, she understand where Sans pulled the pun now.

"I was wondering where you picked up that pun and it makes complete sense." Kagami replied before she continued on, "Yeah, it does look cozy for as abandoned as it is down here."

A few more steps until she would be in the main room before she would cover her cough as she would continue on. However..

"You know next time we come around here, we should really be prepared." she sighed. "I wouldn't have gotten sick or anything if I just..I dunno. I thought of how much fun it would be instead of considering anything."

Besides, this was what she gets for being so stubborn and jumping into things without thinking but she didn't want to admit her mistakes. However, the more she tried to fight against this, the worse she was feeling as she was pushing herself and everything was trying to force her to stop instead of her calling it off.

 

[Sans]

* ah darn, you caught me, heh.

He gazed at Kagami, grunting a little at her ailing form. It seemed her time in Snowdin was really doing a number on her. Even with his jacket on her body, she was still feeling quite sick. She needed to be warmed up.

* hey, come with me. let's find a fireplace or something.
