Character Behavior
Vengeful Beserker
Physical Description:
Strazio’s appearance is one marked by suffering. Pale white hair sits atop his head, the lack of pigment due to a lifetime of constant physical strain and mental stress. From a young age he learned a particularly destructive form of magick, one that forgoed the usual sources of energy and instead cannibalized his own flesh for power. The end result was a network of scar tissue covering his body, with his skin benign stretched over tight sinewy muscles. Though few would see these scars as he often covers his body with a white cloak made from Aluvian cotton, a special textile that stitches itself back together when expose to water. While Strazio’s silhouette may not be intimidating his scowling glare is enough to give even the most seasoned warriors pause. Rare is it to see Strazio without some form of barely-contained rage plastered across his face.
Character History:
Born to a small fishing village, Strazio Rockwell lived a relatively mundane life. He’d spend his days fishing with his father and his nights were spent helping his mother run the Rockwell family inn. Life was good, until his sister contracted Tentrosy. This painful affliction caused crystals to grow out from the bones in her hands. But, the physical ailment was far from the severity of the stigma surrounding Tentorians, the ones afflicted with this disease. Magick was the greatest sin a person could commit and Tentrosy only affected those whose ancestors were magis. A rift was torn in the community as everyone learned of his sister’s ailment, and his family was quietly ostracized. This hostility bred animosity within Strazio, Tentorian or not she was still his sister and he loved her dearly.
This all became irrelevant the day Damien Alabaster arrived in their town. He was a tall quiet man, smelling of cinnamon and wearing a heavy red cloak. Strangers were not uncommon, as their town served as a common rest stop on the way to larger cities, but Damien’s mysteriousness captured Strazio’s childlike wonder. The stranger settled in the Rockwell’s inn, spending several days there and keeping to himself the entire time. On the final day he continued his routine of sitting in the corner of the inn and nursing his drink, but this time he caught Strazio’s eye and motioned for the kid to come over. Entranced by the potential wonders that a stranger from another land could bring, Strazio obliged him. Damien removed the hood of his cloak to reveal a sharp-featured man with oily black hair. He grabbed the boy’s arm and pulled his close saying the fateful words that burned themselves into Strazio’s mind.
“My name is Damien Alabaster, remember my name and remember my face. Most importantly, remember what I am about to do.”
Red lightning erupted from the stranger’s body, avoiding Strazio entirely, but annihilating the entire inn. Screams of anguish underpinned the sound of splintering wood and the collapsing roof. The floorboards gave out beneath the child and he fell into the cellar as the entire building collapsed around him. Trapped beneath the remains of his family’s home and forced to listen to the distant screams of people being slaughtered by Damien, Strazio raged against his confinement. Hours afterwards the screams came to a stop, as did the blood seeping down onto him from the ruined building. For weeks he was trapped, buried amongst dead bodies and what remained of the Rockwell Inn. For weeks he cultivated an all consuming rage for Damien Alabaster. In the absence of food and water his rage sustained him. Time became meaningless as there was no way to track its passing in the dark.
Eventually Strazio was freed by a wandering magus name Valerie LaMolle. The eccentric magus took Strazio under his wing and, after several years of tutelage, performed the Rite of Magick upon him. With his newfound magick Strazio sought to find Damien and destroy him. In his travels he slipped between worlds, traveling through several planes of existence before being shunted out into The Crossroads, with little more than an aftertaste where vivid memories of his previous travels should have been. Not only have most of his recent memories been stripped from him, his magick has seemingly vanished, leaving him as nothing more than an angry man.
