Appearance
Orion is tall and muscular with a confident stance. He wears black body armour with a silver pattern near the neck, mustard yellow pants and blue boots that go up to the knees. He wears a blue and gold robe with ornate patterns over the top, using a golden chain to hold it closed. He wears fingerless glovers with silver scaled plate bracers and spaulders. An eyepatch covers his robotic eye. He has a moustache and thin beard that follows chin and jawline and little else. He has a brown, furry tail that is often hidden by his robe.
Character Behavior
Jaded Warrior – Orion’s life has been full of deceit, betrayal and loss. While he tries his best to focus on the positives (unlike many of his race), the cumulative toll it has taken on him has been exacting. He is gruff, cold and generally impersonal. There is more to him than this, but this is what the world will see of him. If there’s one thing Orion knows, it’s combat. He has fought ever since he was a child and decades of battling and subsequent survival have taught him many hard-won lessons. Fighting is a part of him and he takes it very seriously. He is powerful, analytical and confident when fighting and won’t back down from a challenge. As such, he knows how to 'read' his opponent. He can tell much from stance, eye contact, facial expression, and much more. He uses this information to guide himself in battle and work out flaws in his opponent's fighting style.
In many ways, Orion is the stereotypical saiyan warrior. He is strong, confident in his abilities and always itching for a fight. He is not arrogant, unless around other saiyans. He can sometimes seem cold and distant, and finds it hard to trust others. Although it appears that he forces himself to do it, Orion will step in to save a stranger from injustice. Orion is different from his people in many ways, however. He is intelligent and somewhat philosophical, assessing situations with far more thought than a normal saiyan. He rarely shows this on the outside, hiding it behind his species' arrogant bravado. He also has a tendency to steal unofficial leadership when placed into a group.
Combat
Orion's combat style is largely about hitting the opponent harder than they can hit him, once an opening has been discovered - this often works, as he puts out a mammoth amount of power even in basic punches and can take quite a lot of punishment himself. Yet he is a seasoned warrior, and he has seen countless battles over countless worlds. As such, he knows how to 'read' his opponent. He can tell much from stance, eye contact, facial expression, and much more. He uses this information to guide himself in battle and work out flaws in his opponent's fighting style.
History
Orion is from an alternate DBZ reality where Frieza never wiped out the Planet Vegeta. A saiyan, Orion was experimented on by the Cold Empire, where an experimental computerized unit called NOVA was installed inside his head. He escaped his prison with the help of allies and almost began a new life on a new world until he was hunted down and his new friends killed. After many years since that event and many adventures, Orion hunts for those responsible with his AI companion Tristelle, and his search brings him to the Crossroads.
NOVA Unit
During the years of experimentation he endured by the Cold Empire, Orion had a sophisticated module installed into the left side of his skull, known as a NOVA (Neural Occular Virtual Attachment) unit. It replaces the side of his brain that he lost during the battle on Serin and keeps him alive while adding much more functionality. Behind his eyepatch is a red, circular lens which he is capable of seeing through but rarely chooses to, nor does he expose it. It can track ki signatures, dragon balls and has a Q-Wave communicator (the transmissions can be sent/received via thought or sound). It also can house AIs and store data. It has been alluded that there is still further upgrades that are possible.

Relationships
During Orion's volunteer work when battling against Cevanti's Unmade, he has submitted to the authority of Lieutenant Colonel Roy Mustang. Though Roy can be cheeky at times, Orion respects his military acumen and appreciates that same respect mirrored back to him. More than anyone else he has met in the Crossroads, Orion trusts him.
A one-time subordinate during the raid on Saren's compound, Chara shows wisdom and maturity beyond her years. Orion recognises her battle prowess and her perceptiveness, especially after trying to warn the Saiyan of Darkseid's subtle influence that he was ignoring. A valued ally.
A one-time subordinate during the raid on Saren's compound, Nico proved to be a chaotic and capricious soldier. While both he and his powers were unconventional, he proved himself that he could follow orders and achieve results when it came to the crunch. Orion would probably prefer to avoid working with him so closely again simply due to personality clashes, but he acknowledges his power and willingness to battle the Unmade.
NPCs
The last surviving member of Orion's original Saiyan squadron of four, Cabbis gave up hope on ever seeing his leader again after the fall of Tolsiris. When Alastor cast a net for anyone willing to join the revitalised NOVA project, he decided to join and find out what machinations led to the destruction of all of their lives. Outfitted with the latest NOVA unit - a small, non-invasive microchip on the brain - Cabbis follows Alastor's orders as they maintain high orbit of Cevanti in The Black Armada, searching for the NOVA project's true purpose.
He doesn't know Orion is on Cevanti, but that may soon change...
Alastor, once known as Zintwo and NAADS, is an AI cloned from the brain of a Saiyan scientist, Zin, the lead of the NOVA project. His purpose was to assist Zin, but after Zin's death, he became self aware in order to continue the project in Zin's stead. Over time he evolved and gave himself personhood, renaming himself to Alastor and constructing The Black Armada, an enormous starship capable of carrying and outfitting an entire army. He searches still for NOVA's true purpose, believing it somehow ties into Orion, who was the first successful NOVA experiment. He and Orion have an unsteady alliance, built largely out of mutual need for one another.
Tenso is the sole survivor of a blue skinned humanoid race wiped out by Orion's squad over twenty years ago. He joined Alastor in order to sabotage the Saiyan AI's plans, but found a chance at revenge when Orion arrived aboard The Black Armada for repairs to his NOVA unit. Although he was unsuccessful in killing Orion, the Saiyan forgave him and even stood up to Alastor to let Tenso escape. Bound to the Crossroads as all others within, Tenso searches for a place where he can hide from Alastor's sight and work out the next steps of his life.
Tristelle is an AI of the Cold Empire, controlling a spaceship that Orion and Cabbis hijacked many years ago. Capable of being stored in Orion's NOVA unit, Tristelle and Orion have a long and storied history together. While they've gone their separate ways on Cevanti, they keep running into each other.
Miscellaneous
- Orion's NOVA unit is capable of storing data files and AIs in much the same way a computerised device would.
- He once travelled with an AI named Tristelle, but they have since parted ways. She is now working with Kitriana Wilde (see Shadow of the Colossus Quest, The Chorus' first post)
- Orion is very protective about his eyepatch and will not take jokes about removing it well. If anyone is successful, prepare for his wrath.
- When in a serious, heated fight, Orion will throw off his robe to avoid damage to it. This will also expose his tail.
- While some lower-class saiyans can be paralysed by having their tail grabbed, Orion is not one of them.
- Orion hates anyone involved with or supporting Frieza, his family and his empire.
